I've been laser engraving for over 20 years, and I've never had too much use for the red dot pointer. And the kind that attaches to the head it self is good enough for basic reference. It does not need to be exact. However if the additional cost is very low then it would be a nice feature.

can i use the same lens to combine two 40w tube lasers?

A lens has an axis through which the laser beam must pass. Thus your suggestion is impossible because you cannot get two beams to align with a single lens axis. Maybe you mean the FLAT combiner window. by replacingthe red beam with another 40 watt laser beam? The answer is no becuse the reflective coating is designed to reflect the red 650nm wavelength and not the invisible IR 10,640nm CO2 wavelength. The two laser beams will just cross over each other and the addition you hope for will not occur.

the beam is reflected at 90 digress, the mirror is at 45 degrees.

beam combiner will not work if you want to upgrade to GaAs lens for example, which is why it is not a better option or an upgrade. Also if you don't use very poorly 3d printed mount on a laser it is not actually easy to get misaligned, it works very well. Also you dont want too beefy laser head exaclty for the reason you said - 5 gees. If a laser head say weighs 100 grams, it means it weighs 500g at 5G. So every gram you add to it will add to vibrations and inertia times 5. If anything, you want to keep laserhead as light as possible to faster more accurate engraving. You need to study stepper motora and how they work to fully understand this concept.
