This is the most magical story in skateboarding ive ever seen, the man with the speaker will forever be remembered 😎😎
the coolest shit ever !
That man with the music. Is walkers angel.
Sometimes all you need in life is a guy with a speaker.
What an inspiration Walker.
This is such a cool format for "youtube skateboarding". I love hearing about what it takes to land a single trick and seeing the raw footage. Awesome video, please do more!
This is what it needs to be if skateboarding is going to survive on RUclips. No more influencers or personalities with big egos.
This wasn‘t a Trick, it was a lifetime achievement
The conclusion with buddy coming back and inspiring him to land it was so satisfying. What an amazing story!
We all need a mysterious man with a boom box blasting our favorite jams while trying a trick! So sick and well said, thank you for putting this out! We love you
I smiled a lot when you landed it. Dang near cried. The persistence and dedication to getting that trick is unparalleled. Great job man!
Everything about this video is amazing. As a 32 year old skater who got back into skating during the pandemic, I've similarly been struggling with the contrast of skating as an adult vs. skating as a kid, when it felt like everything was possible and that it was "okay" to fail. Recently I was diagnosed with a heart condition, which was triggered by a day skating in the hot sun trying to land a trick for hours without taking a break or eating/drinking water. I started to question if this was worth it at all. Thanks for the reminder that it's still possible to break new ground as an adult and find meaning in skateboarding. Thanks for the inspiration.
hope these type of skateboarding "video essays" will become a thing
Really loved this piece. U can't imagine how relateable you're experience is to me. Filming a video part always feels like willingly putting yourself through emotional trauma.I'm gonna remember this video the next time my mind starts it's spiral of self loathing. Switch 3 kickflip is mental, on another level of skating. Respect.
Insane to be 35 and throwing these kinda tricks down a 9 set. Respect bro
I can't believe I slept on this for two whole weeks. What an Incredible video, the format, the narrative construction, the quality of the skating, the moral/s, and the payoff are all immaculate. So impressive.
Thanks Walker Ryan & everyone else involved🎉 That was so well worded and just awesome to watch
This will forever be one of the gnarliest things to go down ever! I remember first seeing it and replayinng it like 15 times because I couldn't believe it!
And now with the backstory just makes it so much more special! Thanks for this piece walker!
Hell yeah bro. Such a good story
This is not the skate video I came to watch, but I have to give it up to the algorithm for this one. Killing it in your 30's bro.
I was born and raised in napa, riding the bus all the time to st helena to skate. I remember seeing walker and him being super cool and a big part of the skate community. Ive been following him ever since and its super cool to see him still ripping! hope to see him around the new napa park or st helena again soon!
Soooo good! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. Just kills switch backside! Relentless 🛹🛹
So glad I watched this. I can't believe how this all tied together so perfectly. Wow.
Used to skate with Walker when we were kids. Dude was always fun to skate with, always encouraging other skaters. None of us were on his level even then, but he would always get stoked when you would land something that was difficult for your skill level. Good guy, glad he's still skating... we all knew he would go pro. It was obvious...
bruh:)))))))))))))) such a cool story. Every chapter, fantastic! And the visuals, love watching brick skateboarding.
Thank you for this. Perfect explanation of the madness we all immerse ourselves into (sometimes).
Congrats man. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful accomplishment to reflect on.
This captures so much of what I can never seem to explain to friends/family about skateboarding. So incredibly well done, and Walker is so well spoken. Thank you guys. Thank you skateboarding.
This is extremely inspiring and a Beautiful perspective on skateboarding. This is the best RUclips video I’ve watched in years
Wow. Talk about chills. The man with the bluetooth was a God send to keep the feeling good.. Way to stick to it Ryan! Amazing man wtf.. That's got to be the hardest trick EVER done down a set of stairs. A REAL set, no 3 or 4 stair. Great narration too.. Sick video all around 🎉
This is a genuinely beautiful watch. Motivated me to go skating.
Loved everything about this from the story to the narration and of course the skating. As an older skater it truly touches the soul of what skating is. Great work
This was so sick! I love this format. Great story.
Amazing trick, great video piece! Ryan has an excellent ability for commentary, he could do these style of pieces at other spots with other skaters too!
Amazing I felt like I was there watching the battle.
beautiful shit man, incredible skating and amazing storytelling, man i got kinda emotional when ol buddy showed up with the speaker again and just instantly threw on the Pac.
It was a kind of enjoyable narrative ! The irony of Tupac song title song playing in front off your struggle, the repetition of momentum, i wasn't ready for the end ! Thanks man this type of proposition was pretty cool to see ! Much love
Amazing ! Loved this video story !!
What a great piece of work. Tupac for the love
That was unreal! Thanks for sharing and well done man!
Unbelievable and hella inspiring❗️Walker RULES 🙏
What an amazing video 🤩 I gifted one of your books to an old skater friend, I gotta get both for myself. ❤ from FRA.
This was beautiful dude, all of this makes so much sense, if you know you know
incredible skating and story telling
What a powerful story, this was awesome!
This is a piece I'll be coming back to every now and then. Trick is god tier but the story behind too.
This was incredible. Insane trick(s) and a beautifully narrated story. Thank you for making this.
This is so amazing ryan thanks for sharing this with the world switch back 3 flip is one of the hardest flat ground tricks … ur amazing
That made me so happy and stoked on skating! Thanks for this
Excellent piece!! Thank you for sharing
So rad Walker, loved your way with words and you absolutely destroyed this spot. Thank you brother!
incredible powerful. thank you for this Walker and thanks to the homie with the speaker and Tupac
Im relating so heavy to the feelings around the progression of age and skateboarding and the 360 Kf make made me cry bro
I knew that dude was gonna come back with the speaker. That battle ruled. Cheers walker
Such a dope story! Mad props and much respect!
The inspirational video I didn't know I needed to see. God bless you Walker Ryan.
Damn, video essays are a must need!! Lovin it so much Walker!!
That is really inspirational! Nice one!
I wonder how many attempts total bro and the way you explained how you were feeling , you aren’t alone , a lot of us new generation skaters feel the urge to put out a video part but with no abds and all the stuff involved with that but you made a huge difference bro in this community and if I ever get to skate there I’m gonna be thinking of the fact that you have accomplished an amazing goal for yourself
Huge fan Walker. This edit/ video was incredible, as was every single trick you put down at that spot. There's no reason why this spot shouldn't have a Walker Ryan statue, like Geoff Rowley's at Los Angeles Convention Center. It exist there in my mind. Forever.... I'm 34 now myself and I pick and choose my battles. Only now am I learning to let things go and move on (I'm glad you didn't and put down the switch back 3 kickflip) IT'S ABSOLUTELY FUCKED!! And you did it for you, not for any company, not for any viewer, so you'd have the satisfaction of doing it, and for the love of skateboarding. SO BADASS! I had a similar situation during the pandemic. Was battling a back smith to kickflip back tail. Started out working perfectly. Locking in to the flip back tail often. Thought it would be easy when it started working. It spanned hours a day, days apart, weeks apart, months apart. I couldn't skate and do a routine of tricks. It was a brief warm up and then right to war. I lost it. Not landing the trick meant I was a failure, at everything, shit husband, bad at my job, shit one of my siblings. All of it. The day I landed it was an absolute blur. If it wasn't on camera I wouldn't know I did it. I almost wasn't even happy when I did it, I am now. Skateboarding teaches us so much. My experience definitely taught me a lot. About myself, my perseverance, my drive, my willingness to fail, to succeed, my resentment towards skating, my love for skateboarding. Most of all it taught me to pick and choose my battles. All for the love, big ups Ryan. Congrats dog. You did that shit. And it was beautiful! Thank you skateboarding.
Amazing and fun edit! Reading your new book Off Clark atm. Walker and Suciu are two of the brightest guys in pro skateboarding today and I love all the insights provided in the book. Will have to get your first novel as well! I’m only 30 and can feel a lot more beat up after skate sessions. But at the end of the day it’s all for enjoyment and personal pride to keep pushing! Walker has hands down the best switch bs flips and bigspins, also that was one of the biggest switch tres I’ve ever seen
beautiful, very inspiring, i love this
Nice work! Good storytelling
Thank you to walker for sharing his insights. Truly a beautiful video
Loved this one so much. Is so crazy it all ties together with Shy being there to bring Tupac and help you land yet another gnarly trick.
Beautiful piece
This is beyond poetic... Truly beautiful, the story and the trick
Everything about this is so so good! This is top tier Walker🔥
It really can be the vibe of a song or just the vibe in general to give that sense of clarity you need to land a trick
Back 3 flips have always been my favorite looking trick. I’ve managed to land like two on flat and one off a four stair sized gap. To see it go down SWITCH.. sheesh! I can watch those attempts all day man so sick.
The Tears of joy on my face @16:08
This made me smile and it gave me chills. good job ! well done !
Really enjoyed watching this narrative skate war
This video felt like watching Rocky! You should be so proud of everything you’ve accomplished in skating.
Goddamn I got chills and knew what was about to go down next when you said the homie with the speaker rolled up again. So sick Walker 👊
Wow, this is flipping beautiful man. What a great piece. Thank you from the UK 🙏🏼
Damn Walker this was awesome, thanks homie
