Gotta admit I was REALLLLLLLY doubting the look of the cardboard packing until you hit it with the dry brush and inkwash to tie it all together. The texture that showed up surprised me and I became a complete believer. Great job!
I'm working on similar buildings with the same materials, but I didn't think of the mache - I was using tin foil. I like your idea better and I'm totally going to steal it! 😜 Great video
To speed the drying process (for projects on a limited time budget), try baking them in your oven, at its lowest temperature (typically 170 F), for 30-45 minutes, on a cookie sheet dedicated to the hobby (or wash it in a dishwasher, to remove any PVA Glue residue -- not harmful if consumed, but most people do not want it contaminating their cookies...). This will not harm the PVA Glue, nor are there any ignitable fumes to be concerned about. You can also use a large crockpot/slow cooker, set to Low (also universally around 170 F), covered, "cooking" for 30-45 minutes, to cure the wet mess faster. If preferred, a crockpot/slow cooker can be purchased and dedicated to your craft hobby, for around $20-$30, US currency, at Wal-Mart, and similar retailers. Cheers!
Maybe if you added the fences first and then added your crop lines the fences would keep the chipboard from warping. Seems to keep them from warping when you paint them so maybe it’ll work the first time around. But its only a maybe.

Good idea! Gotta work around them if you add them first though. It's a trade off.
