  • The stellar soundtrack from Snes' Star Fox returns in a whole new way!
This project aims to cover most of the themes heard throughout the game in an completely accurate, yet unique way! By extracting the songs as spc files from the game itself as they are currently loaded in memory, the resulting spc files are then converted into midi format via VGMtrans, a software that can play or convert Snes music files. The midis are then imported to my FLStudio where I must clean them up, realign tracks, isolate some tracks as their usually merged with other channels, etc. It's a ton of work and it's best that you know the songs by heart...and ear. Lol
Fun fact: Some tracks have low passes to give that old Snes audio feel, while also a mix of more crisp tracks where suitable.
NOTE: Due to conversion issues with a relative few spcs in VGMtrans, those themes will not be worked on as a result.
I sincerely hope Star Fox fans out there enjoy it!😉
More themes added occasionally. You can listen to them all here:

Really like this one; it maintains a great feel of the original while updating it & feeling smoother... or something, I'm not great at describing, but it's great! A great recreation of the original!

All ships check in! It's so cool and nostalgic to hear the most iconic of all Star Fox SNES themes recreated so faithfully here, yet with a distinct sound style of it's own. I know that a lot of work always goes into your music and videos, but reading your description provided some insight into just how involved the process truly is! A lot of musical intuition goes into separating out the tracks, selecting instruments/synths, coordinating the timing, and applying effects such as EQ, reverb, delay, pass filters, and a host of other subtle, yet essential adjustments.
But the labor of love really pays off! This is a true Nova Bomb from the past, and I love your use of low-pass filters to give it more of a retro sound. The mixing is tight, and the sound choices are spot-on! I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more tracks created in this way. As always, keep up the excellent work, Mighty Andross! 🌟

      Thanks as always my friend:)
I've always wanted to try and extract the actual songs from the game and see what could be done in terms of remastering or mixing. An Snes emulator I use allows me to rip the file as it's loaded in game, tho only one song at a time, meaning one has to play thru the game of course to get them all lol. VGMtrans supports the resulting files from the game and can turn them into midi files, tho not without quite a bit of work in FLStudio afterwards. Thankfully since these songs are etched in my memory lol, I can easily pick out the parts and isolate them into separate tracks should they be combined. Also, sometimes the first track is misplaced in the converted midi, so I have to go in and listen to where it normally is supposed to be. A lotta work for sure...phew XD
