To all people visiting this city... Thank for visiting! They really did covered the basics of what to see... As well as well as how to see it... The only thing I would suggest is try a cheesestake with American cheese instead of cheese whiz.... Stay on buses if you can. Most importantly enjoy! This is a great city with alot to offer! Welcome to Philly!
my philly raised parents mock me for not liking cheese whiz on my cheesesteak, as if liking the fakest cheese on the planet makes me devoid of culture listen to this person and get real american cheese
Stephen Fiora Sharp provolone. And a good Philly Roast Pork sandwich is on another level anyway. Try John’s Roast pork or Dinic’s for starters. They typically come with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. Cheese whiz only goes back to the late sixties early seventies, simply because it’s quick.
I'm 77 and grew up in Philadelphia in the 50's . At that time the Philly sandwich par excellence was the Philadelphia Italian hoagie with olive oil. It wasn't until 20 years after I left Philly that the cheese steak nudged the hoagie aside as the most well known Philly sandwich.
You guys did a great job for the shot amount of time in Philadelphia. I have lived and love being in the area for the last 22 years. Go Twins! Signed a former Twin Cities guy.
One of the best travel-location videos. Nice Nicholas Cage bit. Part of the Independence Hall sequence in "National Treasure" was filmed at the real Independence Hall and part at a fake one. Not that long ago you didn't need a tour to go onto the Hall and you could walk through the Square and through the building archways any time day or night.
Very Cool! Thank you Craig. We live just across the Delaware in NJ and haven't done some of that - so I think we'll follow your itinerary in the spring. You got a bit lucky on the Philly cheese steak experience. Joe's is one of the top 2 (MY #1) steaks in the city. MUCH better than the tourist traps!
I’m just finding your video, but I’m happy you two enjoyed the city I call home. (Eakin’s Oval was just repainted and re-opened for the summer this past week as I’m leaving this comment).
Very well done & informative video...I thoroughly enjoyed it throughout. I'm from NYC and currently visitin Philly right now. Came here last July as well but was on a time budget...little over 24 hour's but this time we got 3 whole day's!!! Lol. Thank's for refreshin my memory for Franklin Fountain...will be going tmrw. Cheer's :-)
Slow down.i know you only hag 47 hrs in Philly but you decided to not mention the glass mosaic was by tiffany?.im from philly and it takes more time than that.but i liked it
2:40 that isnt the same room that the Declaration of Independence was signed. the original room was destroyed. the room hes in now was constructed sometime in the early 1850s i think. its definitely not original
syggest me all places to visit in philly ...starting from point a to point b like ..first of all going to rocky statue ..the to reading terminal market and so on...
I'm going to philly tomorrow. I'm gonna go to all those places you mentioned. I better not get shanked or get confront by people who "started makin trouble in my neighborhood" or I'm blaming you.
lol. Went great. It was amazing up until the end. I went to most of the places by foot. I stayed at an Airbnb near the Penn Campus. On my last night there I forgot to lock my car doors and some red bulls and a phone charger got stolen. Was my fault. Luckily nothing lost that wasn't easily replaceable. Learned a lesson. But overall my experience in Philadelphia was more positive than negative. Would love to go again someday (but definitely not stay anywhere near West Philly).
To the person reading this, you are who God says you are. You are made in the image of God, The Creator of heaven and earth. Because of His love for you and I, He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for you so that you can have everlasting life and not go to hell. Jesus Christ arose from the dead, He is alive and is the only Messiah, the King of kings, the Beginning and the End. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the whole world. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, invite Him into your heart/life today. Wherever you are, He can hear you for He is everywhere. Remember Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God the Father. Jesus loves you sooooo much so that He gave His life for you. You are valuable...You are loved.
I am from NY and live in Philadelphia now, beautiful city but still horrendously run city. Should be a jewel of American history but instead is just a stop over of people who rather stay in NYC.
Boy what a difference of 10 years makes. They done flushed all the SHIT/CRIME into ONCE SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS........I have friends in Philly,They can't wait to LEAVE...! Sad what the city did in order to make profit . Look at the people leaving......Shh.
Jim Cash. Philadelphia isn't as bad as you think it is actually a beautiful city is just that some people don't make Philadelphia look good because of the decisions they make
I think Philadelphia has beautiful culture, natural beauty, history and architecture as well as the city's overall beauty!
Yes
As a Philadelphian I really enjoyed this good job.

Wow I'm 33, born and raised in Philadelphia and never knew Hoagie were the top sandwich and came before Cheesesteaks. Thanks for the history lesson.

Philadelphia is up and coming, but I lived there when it was down and going.
Same here.
I moved a year after the city just started to turn itself around for the better.
It's nice to see how much the city cleaned up since this video was shot
Really enjoyed this. Great job with this video!

In the upcoming years, I'm considering relocating here once I figure out a few things.
I like the various random local critters, e.g. cats and squirrels. I find they add to the overall charm of the city.

I love my hometown of Philadelphia even though I live in New Jersey.

Hlo.bro
I probably could've lived without seeing the 'Balloon Man' with the 47lbs. of large intestine though. =))
Like seriously, why would they put something that horrible and disgusting on display?! Oh well.
Me thinks he probably could've used a good colonic cleansing; he might have lived a bit longer.
@@JonathanAllen0379 It is a museum of medical oddities. Back in the day you had to get an appointment to visit.

PS: It;s a FKN SHAME for what they did to the ROCKY statue.....It BELONGS ON TOP OF THE STEPS! That film made this city!!
uh, no.
I dont think that film made the city you're incorrect.
I'm pretty sure Our Founder Fathers' made this city.
The statue is literally a movie prop. The fact that it’s next to the steps of one of the world’s greatest art museums is an honor.

There are more young, affluent people in the city than there have been in 100 years. check your facts.
Thank You
OK, keep in that closet why don't ya.
huh
