  • Testing my naturehike cloud up 2 in 18-24mph wind I have also added some 3mm elastic to some of the guidelines for 2 reasons to take out some of the shock when the wind is gusting And also to take some of the sag out of the fly sheet when raining because silicone nylon stretches when wet.
This is the tent I use for bikepacking I realise it's not Gale force winds but I'm usually camping in woodland of undercover of bush's stealth camping

The bungee tie-outs to keep the flysheet taut is brilliant! Nice one!

I made these same mods based on your video, but I also replaced the porch tie outs with elastic. Seems good so far.

should i positione the cloud up with the back or the front in the wind for a maximum of stability?

hi yes I believe it's recommended to put the back 'lower parts of the tent' pointing into the wind even though in the video the wind is coming straight on onto the door part of the tent
