Glossary:
Mouth of Flowers is a translation of the townland Beal na Blath, where Michael Collins was ambushed and shot.
Padraig Pearse was one of the leader's of the 1916 Rising.
GPO was one of the buildings the Volunteers occupied in 1916.
Ashe was a Sinn Fein member who died on hunger strike.
Go raibh maith agat is Irish for 'Thank You'.

Everytime I listen to this and watch the enthusiasm of the people I cannot help but hold my tears. I am from Turkey and the memories I have from the childhood, the idealism of my parents make me sad when I see this and experience the world we are in now. Where are those people in the video? Wow! Discovered this today. I have been attending Theodorakis' first concert in an Athens stadium after those dark years ended at the age of 19 years. I do still remember all those goose bumps felt in that night, although not understanding a single word, because I am a German.
The irish version is called laughing boy although sad song about losing a great patriot in the fight for irish freedom

Θεωρώ τον εαυτό μου πολύ τυχερό που ήμουν παρόν. I was working in Athens 1974 when Theodorakis arrived in Greece and still so sorry I could not join his concert but seen many after later years.
Dear Maestro Theodorakis, thank You for Your beautiful music, personal courage and moral integrity. For me, You will be remembered as the greatest Greek in modern history. You were moral Titan, wonderful composer, man of honour.
Especially, thank You four support when Serbia was bombarded in 1999 by NATO.
Dear Greek people, you have to be proud of Maestro Theodorakis and happy that you had such great and wonderful person in your history.
