Paul foster.... RH Harris..... the voice. The passion..... I am thrilled
Paul is one of the greatest gospel singers of all times! Rich voice!
Dont sleep on Paul Foster now😉
So true. Paul Foster is one of gospel's most underrated lead vocalists.
My best friend's father is singing bass in the background, the late Lawrence Stickman Sr from Oakland! Long live traditional gospel quartets
Thanks to the medium of the Internet they are long lived! I am in my early 40's and tuned in during the isolation period of the Pandemic. Learned alot of Greats from the Jubilee Showcase Show...The Dixie Hummingbirds, Gospelaires, The Pilgrim Jubilees, The Evereadys, Ms. Inez Andrews, Clara Ward Singers etc. etc. You wanna see a great performance on a piano? Check out Rev. Julius Cheeks and his wife performing "Morning Train". ✝️
Now!!!! That’s how you leave a stage!!!!!!!
Now up and age still have that powerful voice
Yes Lord! Yes Lord! That’s what we call “getting happy” down in rural Louisiana!
RH Harris...best male vocal EVER!
He was absolutely amazing. I have some rare LIVE concert audio Dr. Harris recorded on his group in the 1970s and 1980s that blows my mind every time I hear it.
dshock11 share it
@@Quartet4ever get it out please
@Quartet4ever - please post more by R.H. Harris & his group. Do you have live audio of him & them performing Thomas A. Dorsey’s “Never Turn Back”? Their studio recording of that Gospel song is the greatest studio recording of any Gospel song I’ve ever heard.
YES LAWD..!!
The Godfather of quartet music
Two Soul Stirrer greats right there.... Where has this gem been hiding.?
And longtime baritone RB Robinson next to Paul Foster

It was good to see singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Leroy Crume, again. The Crume brothers made a huge contribution over the years to the legendary Soul Stirrers.

Amazing. I found the soul stirrers because my father loved sam Cooke. As I began to sing with my family, I started to understand and appreciate all the great voices that came through that group.
This clip is wonderful.
So glad you enjoyed it. You are right, the Soul Stirrers were full of great lead vocalists starting with the Father of Them all (R.H. Harris).

It seems that this was a full concert isn't there any more film footage on this this is a rare occasion let me know
Where’s JJ Farley?
I don't remember why but for some reason Mr. Farley was not a part of this reunion tour. The group even recorded a 2 song LP under the name The Reunion Soul Stirrers. I do remember that much of the focus for this was on R.H. Harris, Paul Foster and S.R. Crain.
JJ Had BOOKINGS WITH HIS OWN SOUL STIRRERS with WILLIE ROGERS, THIS was a QUICK REUNION
I wonder what year was this made.
1949-1950 originally
Can you post something of William Bobo and the Dixie Hummingbirds or Ellis Johnson and The Harmonizing Four
I would be more than happy to post something on the Birds from that era. Unfortunately I can not say when I can get to this. Time does not afford me the opportunity to post as often as I would like. Thank you for your support and for viewing.
dshock11 oh ok. Bobo is my idol and I post a lot of his stuff. I know everything about Mr Bobo, from how he got his bass voice to his favorite casual drink! I am friends with his family and best friends with the current Dixie Hummingbirds. It mean so much to me to see Bobo live (and hear him mic’d well).
I’ve always wanted to see him do If You Travel This Road live!
Do you have anything with William Boatwright.. another awesome basser
@@larrycancooke2 who’d he sing with?
It was either the Birds or the H4 if I'm not mistaken...
Sam Cooke's Mentor
Sam cooke patterned his style after rh harris.so how they have a video performance and not sam cooke can anyone answer that? Send an answer if you know
Born: January 22, 1931, Clarksdale, MS
Died: December 11, 1964, Los Angeles, CA
he was 32yrs old when he died
Sam Cooke family owns the rights to his music and videos
Sam COOKE did not PATTERN R.H.HARRIS,TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT STYLES OF SINGING & PHRASING, EXAMPLE SAM COULDN'T YELL LIKE HARRIS. SO HE CREATED HIS FAMOUS "YODEL" That Brought the Church down, SAM VOICE QUALITY was Unparalleled, Its a REASON WHY SAM IS A ICON, AND WHEN HE TOOK OVER THE GROUP THEY BECAME THE BEST.RIP
@@eonlub ALLEN KLEIN OWNS THE RIGHTS..
@@weotalks2810 the yodel came from Harris but Sam put his own twist to it
I see why sam cook pattern his life after rh harris
Sam Cooke took RH Harris’ place
Just 😳
