I like shooting my hinge without a peg, makes the release alot more streamlined. I put my thumb on the bracket for the thumb peg, less movement taking my thumb off to relax at full draw.
me too i dont feel a need for a peg since you can draw it without having to really torque the release on draw like i have noticed with other hinge releases. i feel i can draw the UV more like a thumb button without fear of it firing
I’ve been shooting the hinge 2 for about a month. It feels like it was made for my hand. I plan on hunting with it this year, i have the hunting bracket but I prefer it with no bracket or peg. It’s an awesome feeling release.
I bought the first hinge from a buddy. Liked it so much, I just ordered the hinge 2, seems like a good fit for me.
The tru ball hinge peg fits perfectly in the 2 (I have a couple !), really like the 2 and seem to be shooting it well ! Large felt too spread out to me, index finger handle end wraps up a bit tight on my knuckle, have flattened surface a bit to lessen pressure point (warranty issue ! 99% of the time when I have a problem its my fault !), have set the click to go just before anchor so that it doesn't shift after I anchor (doesn't seem to be hurting and helps my confidence), somewhat to my surprise the the sight marks are within tolerance of my hbx and Carter chocolate addiction, so I can swap with relative confidence !
Great video as always! I’m pretty new to archery and These videos are gold!
UV doesn't include a thumb peg because they designed the release with the hook over the middle finger so you really don't need one. But yeah, include a basic one for the money, which would probably inspire more people to want to buy a custom one.
Yeah I mean technically you don’t need one to draw any hinge, but they should let the individual decide that.
I'm still scared to go to that style of release , I have trigger finger on the center finger ...so not so sure if that's a problem or not ....I'll find out someday perhaps....good vid ! Keep them coming 👍
Thanks man!! Keep up the videos!
They leave out the thumb peg because it is not needed for target archery. Actually, it distracts when bringing down the Thumb. Had my removed at my 2moons and also have none on my new Hinge 2
The original hinges you changed the hook for the click. I can’t shoot a click anyways because it makes me jump.
Yeah I tried it with the click and had the same problem haha 😄
I've been struggling with my goat. It seems it takes so long to go off. I really want to try this release. Sounds perfect for me
I’m no pro but I practice with what I hunt with I am going to try a hinge this year and if I like it I will use it for everything if I don’t its back to the thumb release. I just don’t like switching up guess I’m just to old and set in my ways.
If the Hinge 2 is your first back tension release, it's great. I shoot my B3 and can't adapt to the Hinge 2. Sold it.
Cool
It's the 6th or 7th one I've used and definitely the best of the bunch. You likely had trouble adapting because the neck is so long, needed to shorten your D-loop.
@@stoodz Yes, I like it to release at 2 o'clock, if you will, I couldn't adjust it to release early enough. Other than that, perfect
Digging mine!
They don't include the peg because it's not needed. The geometry of the release allows it to be drawn just fine and plenty safely with no peg provided the release is setup properly. I don't use a peg on my fulkrum either.
The point is for $200-$300 they should include a peg and let people decide if they want to use it or not.
@@InsideOutPrecision oh absolutely, I wasn't disagreeing with that sentiment at all, just pointing out their reasoning. Imo it's far overpriced as it is.
Great review, I don’t think it’s for me, sounds like ultraview is ultracheap (low hanging fruit). Can you do other reviews on releases?
I have reviews on lots of releases!
The neck of the release looks wider.
Does it give a better anchor point feel?
I love your videos
Carter 2 moon and nockon 2smooth (also a carter) has the 2 independent adjustment like the hinge 2 have, well thats a lot of 2!!
Yeah there’s plenty of releases that have it.
I shoot the stan shootoff TL 3 finger great release.
Who the hell cares?
Have you had any issues with the hook fraying your d loop as others have reported or issues with the moons staying set where you have them?
Not yet but I’ll keep an eye out for it
Kellam, have you shot the new Stan Onnex Hinge? How does it compare to The Hinge 2?
I haven’t yet, can’t seem to find one anywhere!
@@InsideOutPrecision Kellam, any chance you got your hands on a Onnex Hinge and been able to compare them to the Hinge 2
@@ObamaOsucksOass haven’t shot the onnex hinge
Is there much difference between this and the Scott Ascent?. The Ascent is a dual moon as well. I have the Scott Ascent, seems this is very similar.
Yeah same mechanism. Just will feel different in your hand.
Looks like a nice design but sounds really noisy as you move it around
Sound like the action of a “clicker” on a recurve bow .
People that shoot a hinge with no click can't be trusted. Aliens confirmed
I own alot think this one feels the best but far
Unfortunately I suspect those 700ish people were all males. I don't have a small hands for a female but even the medium is too big.
I know a woman that shoots the medium and it seems to fit her pretty well! The medium in 2 is a little smaller than the original. If you go to their website they actually plastic molds of the different sizes that they will send you so you can see if it fits before you purchase one
@@InsideOutPrecision I've held the hinge 2 medium in my hand at Lancaster. I also have the plastic mold. IMO there's minimal difference between the 1 and the 2. The comfortable position for me fingers puts my ring finger right over the ridge between the 2nd and 3rd groove. Having my fingers in the grooves stretches them out - not to the point of being painful but to the point where it's not comfortable to shoot that way. Which is unfortunate because there are a lot of other aspects of the 1 & 2 that I like.
