This comes straight from the Bible. It is not an original or new idea. Maybe read the book for yourself if you like this kind of wisdom.

@@jmo4521thanks for interjecting your great wisdom on my comment that wasn't meant for you! Your statement eludes to the idea that you made an assumption that misinterpreted my enthusiasm for ignorance. Allow me to clarify: I'm very familiar with the Bible, been reading it for over 35 years. I was excited that this was included in the podcast, indicated by my "Loved this!!" response - which obviously you took to mean that I'd been completely ignorant to this concept prior to this very moment.
Such a shame that you made the assumption in the first place but that you make a book recommendation without even offering the exact scriptures it's from. The real tragedy here is that had I been completely unfamiliar with the Bible and your snarky comment would have been the first to turn me to it, I'd hesitate to be receptive to such book's teachings coming from someone who clearly doesn't practice what they preach.

Now , Now - we can “hear “ snarky energy ?? Is that it - I am like this too - as a profoundly hard of hearing person since toddler ; but most hearing people are insulted by my reading of their “non- verbal “ communications …
However 80% of communications are non-verbal - maybe more - not sure of current science on that subject - but it is a 🙄 for me , as hearing people whom wish to deny their mixed communication signals continue to create the inauthentic and incongruent atmosphere that most human societies have developed that help create infants and young ones being traumatized and neglected generation after generation ….

Compassion is so important. For others and yourself. I grew up hippy, and the mind body connection was sometimes reduced to "if you're sick or disabled, its your fault, because you're not thinking positively enough" well in the disability community theres a saying - no amount of positive thinking will turn those stairs into a ramp. But - compassion on a societal level will. Because then the will to build accessible spaces will happen. Its not always about the individual not working hard enough at changing themselves. We need the collective will to change how we work together.

Loved this episode! Love Deepak! Gratitude really does change perspective. I can’t believe I’m alive… stage 3 cancer at 37 years old, genetics and the perfect storm of stress and environment. 45 years old now, by the grace of the universe and my own attitude of joy and gratitude, my life has changed immensely. Yes, even in our struggles, we can have these profound conversations. ❤

This brings me so much joy and love idea of the miracle that we are here now with all of things having to happen for us to be here now. It’s a profound source of love, joy, and unity, knowing that we are all part of the same grand design.

I'm not sure if this makes sense at all, but this is how I see we are all one and connected. Knowing each one of us has our own personal journey, which we cannot change, but learn from, tells me that the experience of others is also a part of me. So, due to the way it affects my emotions when seeing all the things deemed negative, I can be grateful for the compassion it fills me with. For example, I cannot fix the homeless issues which saddens me, but I can be compassionate and donate food and other necessities of life. In turn we both have a moment of joy. I experience joy because I see their joy in receiving something that positively enhances their journey. In turn enhancing my journey and purpose.

Mind Blown! 🤯 It is hard to keep happiness at the fore front of our thoughts when we have to do the daily grind...but there really is a lot to be grateful for when we truly think about creation...both God and Human made! Truly incredible! Think about the tiny computers in our hands now that can connect us with everyone who has a similar tiny computer...anywhere in the world! Truly amazing that gravity is keeping us on the ground...oxygen is allowing us to live ...and so forth and so on! Unfortunately we have a tendency to focus on the negative. Focusing on the blessings is the best mantra throughout the day. Lots of topics here...I loved taking it all in!

When trying to live in this world without being part of this world, we remain aware of the suffering and have compassion. However, we can hold a higher frequency by keeping ourselves in a state of Joy as much as possible by turning our attention to the beautiful things in this world and in our lives, dancing, playing music, laughing. When we are in a higher frequency, we are attuned to the Divine and positive spirits who will provide us guidance to navigate through the roughest of seas. It is harnessing the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of healing as taught by Joel Goldsmith, Mary Baker Eddy and others who understand the mystical principals of natural law. I call it "anchoring the light." Through this technique, we bring God/the Divine to the earthly plane---as above, so below. We can help those who are suffering by shining this Light. It is real and powerful. I know because I have seen it work with my own eyes. We can all be part of this by not submitting to despair, fear and anger. This is what the Darkness wants because they feed on that energy. BTW, per channelers of other realms including tarot readers, psychics and astrologers, the Light is winning.

On the topic of psychedelic meds..., you can get into different problem solving states, by just drumming. If you choose, there is a book by Michael Harner called ,

In my experince, if you are looking for a gateway to beginning the process of awakening, Michael Singer is it. I discovered him through this podcast and immediately read his book The Untethered Soul. Just beginning with the basic practice of meditation (the foundation) with the intention of being aware of your thoughts, but not engaging in them is the start. At some point with continued practice you'll have pockets of silence that occur. The euphoria that Deepak expresses lies in these moments. Chase them without frustration, just relax into these moments while being aware of the sensations of the body. Once this happens the evolution has begun. With continued practice I then graduated to Deepak Chopra's book Metahuman. Once you've experienced some of the things he speaks of in the early chapters I promise you that you'll be fully engaged in the process. He lays out the steps to awakening beautifully. Sometimes a page is enough with this book so that you can put things into practice and adjust to them. It took a little over a year and a half of dedicated practice for me to reach the euphoria that I thought only certain drugs could provide. “High on life" is quite literal/spiritual at this point. This episode has motivated me to begin sharing my experience for the better of us all. Thanks again for this episode.

Mayim asked how we can implement ...the 4 A-s, when life feels...too much. This is, for me, the crux...Maybe many are with me when I say that I approached..."wholeness " and healing from the perspective of having to achieve it all! From that perspective, one is never...good. one is only ...less bad! It can devolve, that way, into immobility: The prospect of action is so daunting that we don't do anything because we don't know where to start!
A different perspective might be: First, RE-FRAMING an obstacle as a CHALLENGE; Second, breaking the challenge into smaller parts. Third, break the most daunting part into even more minute parts, until you can do a minute action!
A mantra: The only thing I need to do is: the next thing.

Dr. Bialik, I wish and hope for you that one day you can not only reach the stillness more easily during meditation, but also what's known as vairagya. Its literal translation from Sanskrit is "detachment", but that's not quite right as to what it really entails. It's not that you don't care about anything, but that you don't care abou one thing more than another. That can mean that you care about everything a lot for some people, but you lose the problem you talk about when you can't think or talk about things without wanting to cry all the time. I hope that makes sense.

Spiritual practices are time-worn ways that cultures have developed and are developing to cope with our interesting, sometimes difficult brains. I follow them and do many practices that the sages teach. I have infinite respect for these teachers. However I am a secular humanist. I don't believe in a god or a universal conciousness.
I just listened to Chopra's preamble to the interview and I think he makes quite a lot about the human mind's ability to observe its own thoughts. This 'observer' exists, yes, but I don't think that fact leads to the notion of 'universal consciousness'. I recently listened to a talk called '"The Tyranny of Thought" by Gangaji saying, basically, if you want to find peace, stop thinking. I've been doing that and honestly, it is great. I have much more energy for my daily life, moving etc. Gangaji said that this place of 'not-thinking' is also universal consciousness. I found it initially to be a kind of dullness, and since then I've been busy, so I don't know. I do think it is helping me live a better life, with my poor battered brain. So I thank Gangaji. I thank Chopra.
I don't really want to influence others and especially not change people's beliefs, especially positive ones that Chopra and Bialik express. I just want to put a little word out for the other secular humanists in the crowd.

Is he vegan yet? I tried to search before I watched this and there was one video 4 years ago where he said he was vegetarian aspiring to be vegan.
He knew that spiritually it’s not right to eat or be part of cruel practices that kill and exploit animals for food, goods etc. They too are sentient beings. As a spiritual leader he should be vegan and I’m hoping he is now.

Attitude of gratitude. Jonathan have you lost a adult child after watching her endure medical mess up from chemo and stem cells Mistake. Horrific 8 years . Tomorrow will be 8 years I have endured her loss and more . I celebrate her she knows my heart. I watched our powerfully strong resilient president, be taken out of usual fighter as he spoke of his son Bo. He was ill physically and this makes it harder to get through grief. My daughter and dad could be a team and now i have hope for this country!!! She was a atheist 😅thankfully never wanted kids. She loves her nieces and nephews she didn’t get to meet here. This loss of a child topic is so taboo 😢 . 8 years in two days I will be at the beach we went to and celebrate her beautiful irreplaceable daughter’s life.

I literally can not afford peace in this western society. 💸 That's why I'm leaving... kind of an ego suicide... moving to the other side of the world 🌎👋

It is funny how NYC is such a villain in the mind of the host. LA and NYC are just two different cups of tea. I find LA to be a place that is stressful along with many of the surrounding areas with their 6-lane highways, potential for earthquakes, landslides, and wild fires. I understand how to navigate my world and would feel extremely uncomfortable waiting for an earthquake to shatter my world or some other kind of extreme rage situation as occurs on the West coast. I so wish people would stop 💩talking NYC. This man also comes from a country that is much more hectic than most people can properly imagine. Would she have asked the same question with the same incredulity if he was still living in his hometown of New Delhi, or Mumbai, or Calcutta??
