- I'm A Celebrity Castle you say? Yes, ok, so this year it's back in the Australian jungle, but for the last 2 years, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! has been set in Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales.
Originally built as a stately home in the late 1800's and early 1900's, Gwrych Castle sat as ruins for years. There was a big campaign a few year's back to get the castle back into Welsh ownership from an American business man, and then during the travel restrictions of the pandemic, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! with Ant and Dec took over the castle as their location for the show.
Since I'm A Celebrity aired, the castle has re opened to the public. Obviously they are milking the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Connection, but then why not, it's put the castle on the map and made Gwrych castle one of the most famous castles in Wales, if not the whole UK, even if it's not really considered as a real castle as it has never had any military involvement.
We took a look around the I'm A Celeb castle at Gwrych around Halloween time, where there were many spooky and Halloween themed activities going on for kids.
We started mid afternoon, then stayed into the early evening where darkness came and the castle was lighted up magnificently.

Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. Hi guys this was great to see inside and at night. We've been in the day around the grounds but that was one of many videos we removed and wished we hadnt ! Loved seeing how it is now and great that they can make money for the castle out of things that they're selling . Rach you didn't look like that witch you're way prettier and definitely the queen of that castle 😃 Funny to hear Will broke in here years ago though and very naughty 🤭 Loved it all lit up at night and I so like the views of the coast when stood in the gardens . While we haven't seen the show we can see why one would be filmed there. Enjoyed the tour, Rachel and Wills. It's an amazing castle (despite the lack of military history) it looks like a fun place! The gardens were lovely. It looked Spooktacular at night and there's plenty to keep the visitors entertained. Thanks for bringing us along.

I've always said we love Castles and old history and it would be amazing to have an experience in a haunted castle during Halloween!!! Lol!!!
Our boys have explored some so called haunted abandoned places here a few times sort of illegally but never looted as well!!!🤣

That was spectacular! We haven't seen the show, so this was more about just enjoying a truly amazing place for us. I love how much they did it up for Halloween, and how full-on it went after dark! As much as the restoration is amazing, I kinda love the thought of checking it out while it was abandoned. Sounds like great fun. Really??? No one watched the Harry Potter experience? Lighting fires and having picnics! Now i know what the reckless gangs in your neck of the woods got up to! Who was in charge of fire lighting and who had to prepare the picnics? Did the duties change from week to week or where they permanent roles? This really tickled us! No we haven’t seen Im a Celebrity either, the thought of the eating challenges doesn’t sit with my palette at all, although since meeting Jill I have grown to like the almost Morecame and Wise-ian qualities of the loveable Ant and Dec. This was a great tour and lovely to see it all decked out for Halloween and Remembrance Day. The Halloween decor I particularly thought was top notch throughout. Wills astounded us one more with his Christmas Ditty on the piano! How lovely did it all look at night time and im glad you got us those awesome drone shots without getting thrown into the dungeon for it. Whats to stop you from flying the drone over from half a mile out? 🧐 anyway loved it! Have a less mental week please! And oh yes Australa? Keep ALL our politicians from all parties. Send us some, anybody in return! ❤ 🍻
What Wills wanted to say was they broke on and lit fires and had a beer, but it didn’t come out like that!! He sounded so tragic! Ah thanks guys. It was a really fun event and it was done really well. It was a challenge to get Halloween/ I’m a celeb and the castles history to sit side by side, but a challenge we enjoyed. Yes, the no drone thing is a bit mad as it’s nowhere near any airfields and they managed to fly in x amount of helicopters when the show was there!! Often wondered how to pronounce this castles name. I have seen it so often from the A55 and wondered about its history. Not a fan of I`m a celebrity but I am sure it made a great background for the show. If ever we meet I think after coffee would be my preference, that was a pretty terrifying early morning look. I did not realise that it was now open to visit so must check it out next time I pass.

I'll not say when I last visited this place but it was open to the public back then and they did jousting. Looks like they've spruced it up since then as well. I don't watch I'm a Celeb but the castle looked great lit up. A good place for a Halloween spooky night 👍

I've never seen I'm A Celebrity get me out of here, either but I do know that there's a certain amount of creative licence used in calling the area it's filmed 'the Australian jungle'! It's filmed 30 minutes from Brisbane (a major city) and about 10 minutes from the Gold Coast as that's where various film studios are, the Australian version sends them to the South African 'jungle' which I'm betting is probably a few minutes from Cape Town!!

OMG....I never knew Wills was a virtuoso with a lifetime of criminal activity. I wonder why the directors of I'm a Celebrity didn't contact him? I guess if they did, he'd be in the outback now with all those bikinis. He'd probably hate that.
The bit of history is interesting and the mini Statue of Liberty was as well. I was pleased that the castle seemed to be dog friendly. Or maybe the staff is just to busy policing illegal drone activity to care. Anyway, Great tour guys. Have a wonderful day👍🌞💞🐲🌹
