I had no idea the airport was not considered a neutral fare zone as it is. As for the two-stops on either side of Steeles, I don't think drivers would even enforce double-fare cash payment for getting off at either stop.
Getting off isn't a big deal... the problem is if you board on the "wrong side" (i.e. just before the border) then transfer to a bus of the other agency.
The double fare makes zero sense, the bus is going there anyway, why charge a second time? It's not like the bus is going to turn around at the boundary if no one is on it
If all goes to plan, it will start in mid-March 2024 for transfers to or from TTC. Free transfers between most local transit agencies (e.g. Brampton Transit and York Region Transit) and between almost all local transit agencies and GO Transit are already in effect.
This is brilliant. Super incisive critique on how MiWay doesn’t flag the TTC contracted buses.
Update: The new One Fare Program will begin sooner than expected, on February 26th, 2024.
Pioneer Village station is pretty much at the York University campus, so there is really no need to take that one-stop subway trip.

@@anareel4562I can see why they have/had it. The TTC would lose millions if the province didn't reimburse it.
One Fare program is great!! So it will start next month or March??
