Thank you for adding this video. i took my cover off to wash it and noticed the tag said NOT MACHINE WASHABLE!! I'm glad to see it does, in fact, work and not shrink or something. Very helpful.
There are no indentations on mine either, but there are soft spots where I sleep, relative to the edges of the mattress. If you lay down, and then lay down all the way on the edge, is the edge any firmer? I make myself sleep all the way on the edge now because of how much more firm it is. 215lb, 6'3", Ordered my mattress November of 2015.
How did you unzip the mattress cover? On ours the zipper handle is tucked under the other end of the zipper and doesn't seem to budge when I try pulling it with a plier.. I don't want to tear it! Did you find it easy?
maybe mine is an older model with a different zipper? I am not sure but mine is easy to move. the pliers make is difficult to pull without the lever inside the zipper I bet being pulled too. I wouldn't pull too hard. If it doesn't work just use a nice protector and just was the protector.
James Patton I managed to pull it out by pulling pretty hard, and there was no lever attached, so I ended up using a pin to wiggle the break free. Once I did that it opened very easily!
Well you guys went against the grain because the tag on the mattress says not to machine wash but I am glad it worked for you. I also have a T&N and was thinking about machine washing it but the zipper head is hidden probably to discourage people from unzipping it.
i wish i saw that before. I really couldn't believe how easy it was to wash and put back on. Some zippers on the other mattresses we have already had zipper issues.
I've got the first t&n and I still sleep well on it. my cover is screwed, there are balls of lint all wadded and clumped that I feel beneath the cover. I had it sitting on wood boards but since switched to slats. Slats breathe better and bounces back faster, with the wood I felt the indents take longer and I sunk further.
Do you all use regular fitted sheets. I worry that some sheets that say “fits up to 18 inch mattresses” might be too baggy. Or did you all get special sheets that fit specifically 10” mattresses?
We are rehoming our mattress. We have not been able to sleep on it for 4 months now. Back pain. I know it works wonders for others, but it's not a good fit for us. Want to make sure everything is clean. After removing the sheets, found that there was staining from the oils I put in my hair. I tried washing it and bleaching it. No change. It did not wash well for us. It did not tear up in the wash so that's good. Just purchased a new fully enclosed mattress cover. Just dont have tufts and needle on it. Dont want to give away a mattress with stains on the cover.
I have Puffy mattress, it says don't machine wash it but your cover looks just like mine so I'm going to machine was it and dry it as well. And thanks for that link for that mattress protector.
Great video! I'm in need of a new mattress and I might get the T&N. Do you think this mattress can really hold up well for 7 to 10 years if well taken care of?
Hey Oscar! I think the bed is super nice. I am not sure if it will last that 7-10 years. It depends on your weight mostly. If you are large, it will breakdown more. I think it will last that long but it will start to soften slowly.
The problem with mattress protector's they block some of the cooling effect on cooling mattresses. Mattress protector's are not for everyone. Guess depends on the person.
@@AM2PMReviews Good reason for you. But like I said earlier it depends on the person. My wife and I don't own any pets and we don't ever drink or eat on the bed.
I know that now. I just assumed if there is a zipper than it can be washed like others. However the real issue is in drying the mattress cover. Now we just use a protector we got on Amazon. Have you seen our protector video?

Ta Cannon maybe it is not recommended but it worked for me.

I didn't notice soft spots yet.
Does that fire sock contain fiberglass ??
i dont think so. This old one didn't.

I’m surprised it didn’t shrink. Did you hang dry it or dry cold? I have this exact mattress and want to try this.
jsnell126 we just dried it as usual.
You mean you just put it in the dryer and dried for the normal amount of time?
yes we just checked it a lot because it dried very fast.
great question!

Jamie lee did you tried it? I need to wash it, but the tag says not to.

wow that sucks. we have a pink cover now with our washing of the cover...so we just recommend using a mattress protector for it.
What do you have slats or solid base ..on the bed frame under the mattress..just asking if it makes a difference
i have noticed it doesn't make a big difference. Just make sure the slats are not too far apart. Maybe 3 inches is ideal.
Do you all use regular fitted sheets. I worry that some sheets that say “fits up to 18 inch mattresses” might be too baggy. Or did you all get special sheets that fit specifically 10” mattresses?
we just buy regular sheets. It seems to fit no problem. 10-15 inches will be the standard sizes for beds so it shouldn't matter
How long did you guys end up trying to put the cover back? I just got a used one
Jose Monteverde it just took a minute or two. It’s easy to put back on with two people.
Hey, did you find fiberglass on the fire sock or anywhere else in the mattress?
I don't think so but i guess you are not supposed to remove the cover anyway. Just use a protector on this one.
Months later, do you regret washing in the machine? I have a stain on mine but an nervous to use the washing machine
nope it has been great! I can't say that it would be the same for everyone. I would not machine dry it just to be safe.
I keep reading not to machine wash it. Don't know why. I need some blood stains off from the pillow and the mattress cover.
Eduardo delgado i would recommend to air dry it. Then you should get a protector!
Thank you
We washed ours and haven't had a single problem. It was super easy getting the cover back on. James you're awesome!! Thanks for doing this
I’m so sad. I have the same mattress. I took off the cover to wash as well and ended up with fiber glass everywhere.
No really? I hope we didn't encourage that. I dont think ours had that but maybe the new ones do.
Do you have box springs under there or just the plywood?
Good video, ya'll make it look easy
Nolan Stratton just wood instead of slats which can cause sagging.

smart thinking. Yeah it is easy to stain a white cover that is for sure.
The mattress protector does not breath. I would use a cotton or poly one. Great mattress though!
it doesn't seem to matter. it doesn't breath so the heat doesn't get sucked in the mattress as easily.
James Patton the mattress pad that is sold to protect definitely makes the mattress more hot and humid. Other than that the mattress is great.
I have Puffy mattress, it says don't machine wash it but your cover looks just like mine so I'm going to machine was it and dry it as well. And thanks for that link for that mattress protector.
yeah man. Just don't dry to hot or it may shrink. We just barely dried ours to make sure its as okay to fit back on.

I’m 275 had for three years and I can say there’s probably 15 left in it
Not supposed to wash the cover
whoops
@@AM2PMReviews I took my off and the zipper broke and I called and they mailed me a new one. That’s how I found out we are not to remove the cover

Yeah I like them since I can know that my mattress will not collect dead skin or get stained.

Great video and I already have mattress protector but wasn't sure about putting that over the one that comes with mattress. Love the dog btw 🐕
yeah I think toppers would do well under pads or protectors. if they can fit that is.
What to post

Why is this video titled as a review?
well we wanted to update people and the word "review" gets more views on RUclips.
Great video!
For Pete's Sake Have A Cigar thanks Pete!
Washing can void the warranty
oh really? I didn't know that. I wonder why they give you a zipper if you shouldn't take it off.
T&N does not recommend removing the cover! 👍🏼👍🏼
