That is definitely a North Carolina bus, so I'm guessing you are from North Carolina. I used to work on these type of buses for a living. The 8.2 Detroit's in my opinion are tough. Diesels the fuel pinchers are hard to beat. They will crank when it is single digits outside. If you don't believe me, I have a video of me. Cranking the 8.2 with it being single digits outside. Just one thing that I will warn you about the fuel solenoids on those buses can be a royal pain in the fanny panny. So with that being said, what I did on all of mine when I worked at the bus garage was I ran a ground from the solenoid to the alternator because if you don't if the solenoid gets too hot it will ruin it
I monitor the free listings on marketplace and craigslist 24/7. Most this stuff pops up within 40 miles of my house, you just gotta be the first to it.

You need to run this on waste motor oil. You can get it for free, clean it in a centrifuge and drive it everywhere for free.
