Cheers for making this video! I came in to watch it mid oil change to make sure i put them back in the right place. I have a feeling they were right, and I just forgot to clean those strainers one at a time again. Awesome tip, hope i remember next time, haha.
Just want to first of all say thank you for taking the time to record/post your instructional videos. I especially appreciated the explanation of engine oil types as it has always been a mystery to me until I got into riding 2 years ago at 44 years of age when I did my 1st oil change. I just upgraded to a '13 te449 from a '15 wr250r and I'm curious what tool you used to remove the strainer plugs as it seems an odd size socket. I've completely stripped the heads off these aluminum caps and can't find any better replacements than the OEM ones. Again, much appreciated from a subscriber in the states. EDIT - Sorry, I finished watching the vid and answered my own question...cheers
Thanks mate for your videos on the te449 I have had 2 a txc449 and now another in the te449 . It has 8000ks on it and I am changing out the clutch pack Any tips or things to watch for. Do you start and end with fibre ? Thank you danger mouse and keep up the awesome single trail rides
Hi, thanks for the message. Ive managed to get a great run from the clutch on my own bike and haven't had to do any work in there (all still original at 350hrs) There are some shims detailed in the workshop manual regarding setting the 'stack clearance' I'd suggest having a look at those. ** One thing to be aware of, these models rarely have clutch problems, if you are pulling it down for a 'slipping clutch' you will almost certainly actually have a slipping Torque Limiter (listed as Reduction Gear in the parts list) This part is a shock reducing unit in the gear train after the clutch and before the input to the transmission. They can be replaced with the engine still in the frame, not super common, but the usual cause of slip. 👍
Thanks for the quick reply mate I have already ordered a set of fibers and steels. Measured fibers at 2.72 average and steels at 1.8 doesn’t seem like a lot of wear for the K’s , I bought the TE secound hand in 2016 the existing pack looks a little tired. gear changes when cold are clunky expected with straight (I don’t fan the clutch or slip it more than required ) Some creep and hard to find neutral I have been using RBF 660 since 2011 as clutch fluid and have never boiled it faded also use waterless coolant same result . Did your carb buttery mod on TE 👍🏻and have watched all you vids several times Bleed up clutch has good solid feel just giving it all a freshen up. Braided line has discolored badly and while bleeding up tiny black dots showed up in fluid from slave cylinder. This cleared with repeats Cannot find a re-co for clutch master cylinders kit on the net Anyway thanks mate for any advice you can supply.
Great vids thanks mate! I just got myself a TE511 2011 model, its a bit raptly when in neutral and you can here it get less noisy when you pull the clutch in is this normal for these engines? Thanks
Hey, thanks. Yes, quite normal to have some gearbox chatter in neutral and then go quiet with the clutch. They don't have too much in the way of gearbox or clutch issues
Thanks thats good to know, I am just doing that mod "bolt change" in the back of the generator, prevention is better than... Hey where do you get your oil filters ? and are there any other brands or model crossover parts etc.. that can be used? Cheers

Gday mate. Stoked you are still doing vids on this epic machine! I remain in love with my 449
Thanks for the message.
I've kept my one even though I've bought a Sherco 300 SEF-R as my main bike.
Still love the Husky. 👍

It makes doing these videos worth the effort 👍
Any way to find where to buy these strainers and even the sump plugs? Cheers great vid
I'd try BMW for the G450X model.
Same parts 👍
Are your strainers damaged? They don't normally require replacement.
@Dangermouse thankyou what year g450? Yeah just got the bike and on the longer strainer at the gap is separated saddly hard to find
Thanks mate for your videos on the te449

Old girl still looks great DM. I would imagine you’re upwards of 300hrs or more. Cheers.
335hrs now.
I've retired the bike as a spare and bought a new Sherco 300 SEF-R 👌
Still ride the Husky from time to time.
335hrs, and how many pistons have you already replaced? thanks for answer
1 piston at 237hrs. Piston was good, but the rings were worn out. 👍 💙
Over 9000km off road now.
Sir, Do you know how to drain the fuel?
Yes, you can disconnect the hose between the black rear fuel tank and the white pump tank and drain it there

Video is too dark and sometimes the volume of his voice is lower than the music.
