Thanks DangerMouse. Just picked up a 449 and the previous owner gave me the new bolts because he hadn't got around to Changing them. Sure enough 2 bolts were relatively loose. Thanks for all your videos. Aloha from Hawaii
Cheers for the filter info , I mentioned I done this bolt mod seems to have about 2-3mm clearance I noticed that there is a bit of side play and/Or bearing play in the crank while tightening these up, so hope its still enough clearance. I was looking at the bolts hex depth of originals you mentioned it goes in through to the bolt shaft on yours , my ones seem to still be above the bottom of the head only leaving 1.8mm though and then they have a small hole going into the shaft so I agree they could stretch. Thanks
Thank you very much I will put it into practice, but I have a question, my dear friend. As I can tell, if it is circulating oil for the entire engine system. it seems to me that the heating could be because no oil goes up to the valves, How to know if my oil pump is working properly?
If your engine is still running, the oil pump is working. Without oil circulation the engine will seize and stop. I can't think of anywhere that you can easily release a plug, or cap to check oil is flowing, but I'll have a look next time I'm near the bike.
Hello, thank you very much for the good Videos. My stator of My Husqvarna 511 failures and now i have a broken flywheel and a broken stator. Maybe IT is possible to fix the stator, but IT is Not possible to fix the flywheel. IT is Not possible to buy the Generator anymore. Do you know if some other parts from another motorcycle can fit? Otherwise, the motorcycle is gone :( thank you in advance.
Very sad to hear about your failure, unfortunately these parts are becoming difficult to source. The only other flywheel and stator kit that can be made to fit is from the BMW G450X model. There is a small difference in the width of the key securing the flywheel to the crank. You would need to make it wider by machining the slot. @@Danger_mouse yeh thanks for the response. I just bench tested one and i couldn't get it past 10nm without rounding it off. Is the issue with the original bolts or the fact they are overtightened and not had loctite?
@@garethrosser5346 The issue is with the original bolts. If you look inside the head of the bolt, you can see a depression at the bottom of the allen key socket. Hi Andres, I think you mean 'water pump'. The first thing I would do is change the radiator coolant mixture. Drain out all old coolant, fill the radiator with fresh clean water and run the engine until warm. Then drain this water out and add the new coolant mixture. Any good ethylene glycol auto coolant at a ratio of 50:50 mix is fine. Fill level should be approximately 10-15mm below the fill cap when cold. Next thing to check your cooling fan is working, idle the bike and allow it to come to operating temperature. Continue to idle the engine watching to make sure that it does not boil the coolant and see if the fan runs. If it does not, try powering the fan with some wires in the fan power plug and make sure the fan turns. If the fan is ok, you may have a faulty fan relay. Use the workshop manual to find the relay on your bike and replace it. I hope this helps.
