Don’t ever let doctors put you off, or say “you’re too young for cancer.” Even children sometimes get cancer. If Greg had insisted on a colonoscopy when his symptoms first arrived, he would have been diagnosed early stage. Early stage colon cancer is highly curable. Be your own advocate! Push for every diagnostic test that applies to your symptoms, no matter your age!

Good advice! Putting your concerns and asking for tests in writing is not so easy to brush aside. What a patient says to a health professional and what a health professional records might not be the same.

I work with breast cancer patients at a hospital, and I've seen a 17-year-old with breast cancer. Someone who's 17 doesn't even have fully-developed breasts, yet it still happened. Cancer can definitely happen to anyone.

Now I'm 55 years old, at age of 23 years old. I went to the bathroom had a bowel movement with blood second time that day it happen again. I set an appt with my primary doctor and then 2 weeks later I had a colonoscopy. The doctor removed 2 polyps 2 cm long. Until this day I go every three years and then 5 years. I went to get my colonoscopy and found 3 tiny polyps in 40's. Lately I'm going every 2 years. You are never too young and I thank my doctor who didn't take any chances by guessing. Excellent video because I believe your voice speaks for a very high percentage of patients + says what most feel. I am now a retired nurse who believe that many fear hospital because once you become a patient you give up all control of your body to Dr's + nurses. I found it made a big difference in my pt's anxiety level if I told them that before a procedure is done we will describe what the test is, why we're doing it, how long it'll take, + what you should feel. I encourage them to ask questions. Each hospital has general rules but most are up to each nurse + I know that I would have no problem at all allowing you to sleep on a cot to stay with your husband the day you got the upsetting diagnosis right before visiting hours ended. And usually when a Dr is telling a pt life changing bad news he will do it in a bigger room, have the team of Dr's present to answer any + all questions, + have what they call a "family meeting"- close family members who want to be present are (usually the pt, spouse, pt's parents).
Each pt visit to hospital is so important because how they view it overall stays with them + is used by the pt as a reference for future hospital stays. But it shouldn't! When in hospital ask questions about procedures. Some pt's find it helps to use the Internet to look up questions such as "what to expect during a hospital stay", etc

I was diagnosed with Rectal cancer in December 2017 entirely as a result of the bowel screening test. I had no prior symptoms and felt really well but after an irregular test result a colonoscopy revealed a T2 tumour. My rectum was removed in January of this year and I had a stoma. The care and help I received was FIRST CLASS and I was fortunate enough to have a consultant surgeon who explained the risks and the process and gave me the encouragement to tackle this problem head on. The stoma was reversed in May and last week my consultant gave me the “all clear”. I know how fortunate I have been - I have had total support from my wife and friends and family and friends have been there for us. My message is to anyone who receives a test kit - TAKE THE TEST AND PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE PROCESS - I believe that it saved my life.

hi , i really understand the tough situation,,really big shock in the life,i wish you strengh and power and happiness, well regarding my story i should say that my father is 65 years old, without any history in the family three months ago without any sign and symptoms he just did a follow up colonoscopy bcz he did it also 10 years ago and they found a polyp which had turned into adenocarcinoma and it was a big shock,he was completely well, anyway he went under surgery with left partial colectomy, and the pathologists later told that it was a low stage and does not need any more therapy ,so he went home and finished his recovery period, but two weeks ago he did an abdominal ct scan and they found two small nodules in his liver and we were really shocked bcz the pathology report after the colorectal surgery said there very low stage was no lymph node involvement ,no vascular involvement and even margins of tumor free of tumor cells without any invasion to muscular layer of colon , and even the abdominal ct scan was normal before the surgery and just in 3 months after surgery some lesions appiered in liver according to the newer ct scan, really not understandable, again without any sign and symptoms,so he did a new virtual colonoscopy once again and also endoscopy,it was normal without the recurrence of primary tumor, anyway according to the oncologist comment,he started the chemotherapy since last week, the oncologist told that he needs 4 times chemotherapy and then they will do again ct scan and then second surgery for partial hepatectomy,i am really sad these days ,im completely non functional but i give always positive energy to familly, but inside myself i feel very sad..anybody has any comments or the same experience in his family?well the good news is the lesions are in good place of liver which are resectable,i appreciate if any body gives me some advices or comments for this issue, many thanks

He passed away on September 30, 2021. This is Stacy's statement on is death: My beautiful boy greg died this afternoon. He was with his brother and cousin and surrounded by stories and laughter of his childhood. He was calm and gently slipped away into the stars.
I spent last night alone in bed with him. His energy was far too big for his human body now, I could feel this. I opened the window and told him to go and be in the universe.
Tonight we are in shock but filling our boots with inappropriate jokes, something that Greg would insist on.
Greg was a extraordinary human - not of this world, I’m sure of that. His wonder at the world and creativity is something I’ve never seen in anyone else.
He told me to always believe in magic, that I will never be alone because it is all around us.

    Great video.
Perhaps we need to remind people how important it is to compare cancer death stats with the current coronavirus silliness going on?
The gross overhype of this supposed virus has taken over logic and reason and people need to get back to what is really important - investing research into cancer treatments and possible cures.
Much has been done over the years in this field and we cannot allow ourselves to become distracted from that.
Perhaps it is our duty to remind everyone we know of what is truly important in the field of research?

There is a real issue with NHS doctors arrogantly thinking people are imagining the worst and fobbing them off. I had chronic migraines and NHS doctors wanted to put me on drugs for them until a dietician worked out I was gluten and dairy intolerant. My migraines reduced by about 80% once I cut out these foods. I've had several other conditions that doctors tried to write off as anxiety until things became clear they were real physical health problems. I'm very sorry for this woman and her family, it is atrocious that the NHS allowed him to get so ill and be in so much pain without even doing a scan to check.

Health care professionals see illness all day long. The human body is seamlessly integrated . Anatomy streams connect use to natural antidotes . Media ration will help to get through the day. This is Stacy's statement on Greg's passing My beautiful boy greg died this afternoon.
My heart is broken but full of magic
