- In 2018, I got all 9s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In this video, I'll be giving you the tips and tricks I wish someone had told me back in Year 11! I feel the same like on my mocks I got 7s and 8s in sciences but I really want to push grade 9 but physics is so challenging. I just want to memorise the basic theory (as I find it hard to understand), while knowig all the math, as I'm strong in it.

So happy you recommended gcsce science literally the website I swear by that’s been bumping my grades I’m currently in year 10 and gcsce science is super good in explaining things simply especially because we aren’t taught well in school for some reason !

Thank you sooo much! These are so amazing. For science, I just wanted to ask a couple questions. When it comes to understanding content I use videos but as an addition do you think textbooks or revision guides are more effective for revision? Also for science do you recommend even making notes or just doing the flashcards based on the specification? Thank you
I think revision guides are better, textbooks tend to add a lot of things to fill up the pages. I recommend making notes during lessons and after school to understand content, but in the run up to exams / tests - flashcards should take priority.

@@itishaloktam2526 well. in december my grades were poor. i revised more for feb exams and grades were better. Much better. French went from a 3 to a 5. history 3 to 6. english lit and lan from 3s to 7s. Bio 4 to 9
I just revised a bit more. But in clever ways. And the day before each of my real gcses. I took things so serious. I spent whatever it took to go over the entire course. Whether i spent 10 hours a day. I took it so seriously and i feel i did well. French writing im so happy about! Easily 8 or 9!! Best advice i can give is take it at a good pace in revision so not too slow but actually go in detail. Im actually considering making a video if i get amazing grades

Well, my advice. Start properly from day 1. If you dont get something. Do Not wait! At home after school (or even in school). Go over with a friend, teacher, parent or anyone or any websites. This wad my mistake letting things fall behind. Art especially. I took tripple science, higher maths and french history and art. Wasnt easy.
Keep on top of the content from day 1. is my best advice. Physic and Maths tutor is great for some subjects and freesciencelessons is best for science imo. I used these to revise and it massively helped. Ive never ever made a flashcard stillll! and i didnt do bad. I got a4 sheets and used it for one thing. So for example, lets say history. One page on one of the book pages. Just shorten into note form.

Can u do a video of all study techniques? I’m doing GCSEs next year and I’ve seen ppl say blurting is a good way, but considering the fact that science exams are more about how well you can apply the knowledge more than how well you can remember the content
Hey, I’ve been seeing your videos and taking on your advice. I don’t really feel confident with myself and doing mocks and seeing my grades make me feel not impressed. If there is any advice you could give I would really appreciate it. Keep doing what you do!❤❤
What you have to understand is that mocks are not an indication of what you will get in your real exams. What they do is show you what you need to improve now on before exams. So use these mocks as motivation as opposed to discouragement - just think about it, if you fix all of the mistakes you made in your mocks, you will get a better grade! Put in the work now, follow my tips and you will see results! x

I just found out if you get all the maths questions correct it's an easy pass on the physics exam. We don't need to remember the equations, we have an equation sheet

I think when she was attempting the question for working out the mass using specific heat capacity, she wrote 150,000J for the change in energy when in the question it actually said 155,000J.
SAME HAHAH half equations are super annoying bec i keep on forgetting that metals ATOM lose electrons to become IONS but in electrolysis IONS turn into ATOMS so they gain electrons and with practice i think I'll get used to this concept.
I'm in year 10 and I'm doing triple science. I got 4s in science for my mocks and it was the BIGGEST wake-up call 😅. My predicted grades were 7s, but my goal is to get 8-9s in my next mocks which are in a few months. I'm revising nearly every day now, thank you sm for these videos!

I use the app GoodNotes (which is paid) but if you search online you can find free alternatives. All you need to do is click the share button on the pdf and then click the app you want to open it on! Hope this helps 💕
for science i had to do foundation but i got 5’5 in my last mocks so i am able to do higher but when i revise i feel like it’s effective but when i do past papers i usually get half marks. Does that mean i don’t understand it enough
But there is something other than content and practice
I have a problem with memory, like my way of cards is the same as yours exactly and I keep writting down the things I keep forgetting
But my memory is still rustY lol
But Focusing and concentrating is really what gets my marks down, I know the content I understood the question but I write something else!
I already did my mocks but didn’t get my marks yet, but I still really need help about effective work study! Because I think that studying is not the only thing I should be doing all day all week and all year! A month is a way and I’m burnt out! I try to play video games for like just 1 hour to relax a bit but my parents don’t allow me to do anything else but studying :(
The teachers say I am an A* student tho, but I still need help in fixing concentration and focusing that’s my strongest weak point!

Hey, please reply. I’m not sure how to revise for practicals I have a specific question. On the physics and maths tutor a question came about a graph (organisation) it said something about how the concentration of glucose or something changes in the small intestine. If you want I could check what it is. Basically, I don’t remember seeing it on the specification and I’m not sure how to use it help plsss

I haven't personally seen them but if they cover the specification well then that's good! Sometimes they may include extra stuff so I would say you can use them but only do the stuff you don't know or you might be better off making your own flashcards.

find specific past paper questions for each topic on physics and maths tutor
As sanori said I recommend that you do specific exam questions on physics&mathstutor. But yes, definitely do those past papers as well! Just cross out the topics you're not doing and deduct that time from the time limit for the paper. Good luck!

If you don't understand the topic then watching videos can help you break it down and grasp the content! This is a good idea - but only do it for the topics you're particularly struggling with. Doing active revision methods / questions are more effective for memorisation of all other topics

Hello. On the advanced information for science p2 it says a load of topics wont appear amd then doesnt mention the topics in paper 1 does that mean they wont appear on paper 1 too?

I started mass revision at start of year 9. I took lots of breaks and by the summer holidays. I got 100% On all my past paper treble science exams.

Make flashcards based on what you don’t know, not absolutely everything, then do exam questions once you’re like 60% confident so you can see your weaknesses and see what keeps coming up. Try not to get stressed, you have so much potential right now since it’s only September. All you have to do is put in the work from now and you should have nothing to worry about 😊

Hi! thank you so much, for sciences do you recommend revising the things on the focus list in detail (so notes + flash cards + exam questions) and having everything else in less detail (just having notes you memorise) or should we put the same amount of detail into each part of the specification.
I just recommend that you focus on everything because every count matters. Obviously do more exam questions and stuff for the focus list, but at this stage, don’t focus on notes as it’s very time consuming and not effective for memory

I think whatever is more accessible and preferable for you. If you know you prefer paper flashcards and you are good at organising / keeping stuff then do that. If you tend to lose stuff, do online so you don't waste time making flashcards you already made b/c you lost them. Do whatever suits you! And yes that's how I would recommend making flashcards. i put this in another reply so i’m just gonna copy it here: i’m not sola but i will share what’s helped me get grade 9s in all three mocks i’ve done; i even got full marks in my most recent mock. with history, for content, i summarised every page of the revision guide into one sticky note in brief points. i also turned every single page into flashcards, and that’s how i learnt all the content. if you think you will need it, put it on a flashcard, even the small details help boost your mark. what exam board are you? each exam board has a structure to help you answer questions, and that definitely helps to improve your grade because it shows the examiner you’re familiar with the questions and content. if you’re edexcel, i can show you some structures i used to get 9s if you’d like! if not, then there’s plenty on youtube that help lots, just search your exam question and one will come up!! 😊

Yes it's good for combined science as well! However, sometimes they may include triple content on some booklets so just cross them out if they're not relevant.
