i didnt get the vibe that the changebringer was threatening FCG, it felt like the changebringer was saying "you can choose whatever you want, but if you dont help theres not going to be a exandria left afterwards"
A bit off the point, yet I'm just racking my head on what these gods can actually do. They legit are fearful of this threat, and don't want it to happen. Yet they are limited to only guiding/threatening mortals to prevent this event? Was it ever explained what limitations they have? I was under the impression it was an agreed upon stance to not interfere post calamity. Yet if they created a barrier to prevent themselves from blinking down to the planet to stop Ludinus, and that barrier is now what may lead to their demise, that's somewhat ironic.
I am 100 percent positive that, without any information on what's been going on since the party split, Liam would blindly guess FCG making out with another aeormaton.
The 4SD before this one was those not in this group and they talked about how it was watching, instead of playing. So, there is no guessing, they've been watching.
Christian’s a Critter, an Everyman, one of us. How he manages to play things so cool is beyond me. How is he not geeking out the entire time? That is one chilled out m-fer.
He is also a professional actor and a fairly "famous" person in his own right, it's not like he's never interacted with other famous people or been on camera
LOL you get used to things and can quietly, internally geek out but still be pretty chill. Also I thought Liam or Taliesin last show said they'd been friends for a while with him so...
I LOVE that the production crew gets some screen time and love recently! It's cool to see how many people are actually involved. You easily forget how big it is, because everything looks so cozy on stream
Yeah. The Campaigns seem so insular like it's just the cast and a few friends helping out. I'm a film nerd so I'd love to see their sets and what crew they have for different things.
For anyone wondering the probability of Chetney dying of old age: 1-(1-1/x)^y Where x is the number of possible outcomes aka sides of the die, x=100, and y is the number of time Travis rolls (number of mornings Chet has a chance to wake up dead). The baseline probability of death each day: 1/x=1/100=.01 or 1%. To calculate the probability of a rolling a single nat 1 in a sequence of rolls (dying), find the probability of NOT rolling that outcome first. The baseline probably of rolling anything but a nat 1 (living) in a single roll is 1-.01=.99 or 99%. The probability of never rolling a single nat 1 in y rolls (staying alive for y days) is .99^y. The probability of rolling at least 1 nat 1 in y rolls (dying in y days) is 1-.99^y If y=100 days: probability of living is .99^100=.366 or 36.6% probability of dying is 1-.366=.633 or 63.3% If y=200 days: probability of dying is .866 or 86.6% If y=300 days: probability of dying is .95 or 95%
I know he said on Twitter that he didn't want people to think that he was "too cool for school" because his sunglasses were for medical purposes but...he does look extremely cool.
I mean, pike got to use that ninth level spell to heal 500... Stat padding aside, maybe. But I think the ratio of damage dealt Vs health healed is highest for her.
Hearing everyone including Dani talk about their couple shennanigans filled my heart 💜 also I never thought about the cartoon like dangers of being in a relationship with someone as tall as Travis 1:00:13
Travis and Laura make me feel good about me and my wife. We’re not the only couple with unconscious danger and violence in bed…. when we are asleep. I bet Travis even has stories of being woken up getting punched after he unconsciously clocked Laura just rolling over. LOL!
According to CritRoleStats Caduceus healed 5289 points over Campaign 2, averaging 43.395 per episode he was in (compared with Jester's 1844 total and 13.460 average, ignoring the Reunited two-parter). As of episode 58 of Campaign 3, Deanna has done 525 points of healing, averaging 75.000 points per episode (compared with FCG's 511 total and 8.810 average points per episode - that's right, Deanna did more healing in 7 episodes than FCG did in 58). It's not a fair comparison as Deanna didn't get any "downtime" or non-combat episodes (yet?), which bring Caduceus's average down, but I imagine Deanna might maintain her lead if she sticks around. Caduceus wasn't a "most healing" cleric he was a "no one is going to die" cleric.
@@TheGrumbleduke this exactly, beat me to it. The difference between life and grave cleric is one keeps bringing the people back up and the other just tries to stop anyone from going down. It really fits the vibes of both characters as well.
@@TheGrumbleduke As you pointed out, it definitely depends on how you want to play it too. Because while Deanna and Cad were much more generous with their healing spells, Jester was much more offensive in taking damage and dealing damage, and FCG can half damage of others, so I don't know how that would be calculated but it would be interesting to see how that all stacks as well
@@VirtualSpark_MAthe way they were talking in this episode of 4SD it seems like maybe there’s going to be a pause on that group and we’ll get to see the other group for a while.
@@lordpepper6932 spoilers for ep 58: . . . > . . . Yes, but they brought these two with them because they both wanted to come with and help. So wherever they go/end up hopefully they don't get thrown elsewhere >.>
@@lefthanddontknow673 I feel like they might have 1 more episode. Since they can just teleport again. The staff has 6 charges a day for teleportation, so she can just teleport again, but she is probably gonna have to be healed. So even if the teleport is messed up, it should be fine. I really doubt Matt would separate them into a third group. This was probably originally going to be the last episode. There may just not be much to talk about in the next episode.
I just love hearing the fact when someone asks matt a question about their character he just says 'maybe, you dont know'. I have one of my own when people say or ask something i just send them 3 smiling devil face emojis. Keeps them on their toes
Just mentioning that, as a math teacher who spent some time looking for ways to get students thinking spatially and logically without them realizing that's what they're doing, Ricochet Robots is one of my favorite board games.
You don’t understand after they killed the tower monster and Matt said something started moving inside it’s body.. I was hoping it was going to be Caduceus.. Caduceus: Oh, That was weird, oh hey folk, you look nice, would you like some corpse tea..
Cleric of the Grave is just the 5e love-letter to the Blood Magus from 3.5e, you can eventually just use corpses as interdimensional gates. The party need to get somewhere, a big-bad shows up to block their way, and after killing it Cad just calmly rips open its' ribcage like a door and walks everyone through as they clamber out of some poor scout on the other end near the city they need to get to. Edit: Not actually true, I meant that to be as a what-if but it doesn't translate to text without being stated. I super wish though.
After hearing the story about Sam and Christian meeting, I wonder if everyone who entered that IHeart radio contest did so to get on Critical Role. If that's the case, that's a pretty good move.
I wish Danny would make a story recap video because this is probably the most complicated overarching story they've had and I'm a bit lost on the major details just like Sam is haha
Yeah, it would be cool to have an all-encompassing recap. They had that video appendix with Dani some time ago. She writes recaps for every episode at their page, but that's a loooot of reading lol
So to get a guest spot in critical role I need to write Sam an E-Mail telling him how great he (and the others) are and invite him for coffee to flatter him even more in person. Good to know! Probably being a successful actor wouldn't be bad too. :D
At this point I'm sad CritRoleStats (last I checked) doesn't do the in-game calendar anymore because it's definitely challenging to comprehend how long the party's been together. When they introduced Chetney to someone BH were like "well he joined a bit later", like 'months later' when it feels like it's really like 12-14 days at most between BH meeting and Chetney joining. I know the cast has a hard time keeping time also since they also do this only once a week, but still it's funky for the viewer. Also, obviously it makes sense that Catha would be full for the Applebee's soulcycle and Matt would be hard pressed to also count back days to fit another full Catha for Chetney to transform, but based on MY warped perception of time in this campaign, he should have had another one previously. IIRC Catha has a normal monthly cycle
@@lucascerqueira202 And in C1 he talked about hating goblins due to backstory reasons I won't spoil here, only to have that be a big deal for Veth in C2 - Sam's got a history of taking throwaway comments and going to town with them!
Honestly Sam is making me feel so much better about my own player performance XD like hey, at least I remember something, not like this guy who´s been on broadway and is all accomplished and stuff
18:45 c2 had a really interesting way of involving the gods. cad w/ the wild mother, fjord w/ ukatoa, jester n arty, ashely w/ the storm bringer. with the diety's of jester and fjord more for front but not main pantheon.
I have said this elsewhere and it might be a little in the area of spoilers but with all the Ludinus connections to shady organizations messing with dangerous power, I think Ludinus is Ashton's father and the head of the Hishari cult. The M.O. is the same, a charismatic elven man leading people from the fringes of society in a ritual with an untested power that left the one known survivor (Ashton) changed afterward. Seriously sounds like Ludinus Da'leth.
35:28 They should make a one-shot about the Goats escaping from the SavalirWood, maybe name it something like "We've Goat to get out of here" or "Goat of the Woods"
I love how the groups turned out, but now I wish Orym got to discuss death with Deanna. That’s so interesting how Aabria described the similarities between her and Will
Never thought Travis would make me laugh even more, oh was I wrong. Hearing about how Christian got with the group makes me even more of a fatalist, sometimes thing just happen for a perfect storm, great addition that seems to have been produced out of the ether.
when they asked the question which board game would the characters love, the first one that came to mind for me for F.R.I.D.A and F.C.G was SEQUENCE. or BATTLESHIP
i think the dianna/chet and FCG character growth in this string has been some of the biggest developments in such a short period of time. it was incredibly exciting and fun to see it change over the week or two they were together.
1:21:38 It was pretty refreshing to have some intense Godliness. It's been a while, since C1 really (Not including Calamity). And especially after the unbridled arrogance and entitlement of the C2 characters (other than Caduceus) in relation to power and the gods it's nice to see some of that eldritch mind-bending power again. (Beau's comments about Jester and the Traveler and about how maybe Jester is really the God if she's the one making him more powerful with her belief made my eyes roll SO far back in my head I almost pulled a muscle lol. We get it, you like Jester, you don't have to simp THAT hard). I like Deanna and her quandry is interesting, but from the God's pov it's like, either you believe in me or you don't, pick one. It's your choice but you do have to choose. You are certainly fine about using my power, why should I support you if you don't support me?
We did get some intense godliness in C2, specifically because of their arrogance regarding them - at least I thought what happened with Travelcon (trying to avoid spoilers) was pretty godly...
@@danitini14 Compared to C1 or Calamity not really in my opinion. But yeah that was a cool scene, probably about as godly as C2 got other than Caduceus being the Wild Mother's favorite lol.
@@mayaenglish5424 And the change with Fjord. I agree C2 didn't focus as much on the gods, it was much more focused on politics. There were definitely episodes where they made their presence distinctly known though. This campaign has been really fun watching things come to fruition
Holy Crap Sam, that's amazing! Hollywood is so used to its Nepotism that Travis was in shocked, and Sam was like "Oh...who's this stranger" LOL. Sam is incredible, a diamond in the Hollywood rough for sure lol.
I'm so glad they got Christian and Abriya on. I really enjoyed them as Freyda and Diana and I can't wait to see what they get up to next when they rejoin the other group or when they do their next party shift
No wonder Christian was such a delight at the table, he was living the dream of every Critical Role fan. I knew I recognized him as a an actor, so it was really awesome to see him at the table. As he was basically the best thing about 13 reasons why. He did a really good job and I really liked his playstyle and FRIDA. Hopefully he will come back one day, either in a one shot or another campaign. He deserves that.
One of the funnier, more fun 4 Sided Dives in a while. Travis is adorable when on the spot. Love him! lol And Sam and Travis really do a nice job kinda getting the questions some focus and time to answer (even if folks kinda rando things so much the answers never get to be spoken/heard, lol).

“How do you jump - where am I?!?!” is the quintessential smash ultimate experience lmao
I love how Christian's hoodie and beanie combined with the chair to make the color scheme for F.R.I.D.A.

It's actually 1:32:30 for anyone confused
That's the controller version of eating a burger with a knife and fork.

The technique of a man who eats burgers with a knife and fork.
i didnt get the vibe that the changebringer was threatening FCG, it felt like the changebringer was saying "you can choose whatever you want, but if you dont help theres not going to be a exandria left afterwards"
She did a very classy threat. She basically said help me or you’ll be alone
Exactly what I thought
The zoom in and ??? on Sam’s controller, gold, pure gold.

I am 100 percent positive that, without any information on what's been going on since the party split, Liam would blindly guess FCG making out with another aeormaton.

Chetney is totally going to die from one of those rolls and it's going to be so epic.
It’s going to one of those things that’s initially hilarious and then they’re going to rip our hearts out with the genuine grief.
I don't believe for a second those rolls are anything other than Travis doing a bit
Bring in Macaroni Samsonite!
The probability of rolling at least 1 nat 1 in y rolls (dying in y days) is 1-.99^y
If y=100 days: probability of living is .99^100=.366 or 36.6%
probability of dying is 1-.366=.633 or 63.3%
If y=200 days: probability of dying is .866 or 86.6%
If y=300 days: probability of dying is .95 or 95%

"The most healing cleric" this is Caddy erasure 😥
I mean a Life domain cleric is designed to be the best at healing. That's the whole idea.
@@Rrojas200 Abria said she tried to make "the most healing Cleric" and she did by using the Life domain because that's what they're built for.

Aabria: "what if I'm just the nicest cleric"
the nicest cleric: slaughters her pet goat
I had no idea chetney was actually rolling for death 🤣. First Bertrand now chet, Travis must love playing multiple characters.
Dani, about the weird fish: And it had a second mouth
Me, who knows about pharyngeal jaws: I mean, that wasn't the weird part
Moray eel jaw. Unusual for a river fish perhaps, but certainly not impossible. :)
When an eel has a maw with a pharyngeal jaw that's a moray!
I had to look that up. And I am once again reminded that if we want aliens we don't have to look further than our oceans.
So to get a guest spot in critical role I need to write Sam an E-Mail telling him how great he (and the others) are and invite him for coffee to flatter him even more in person.
Good to know! Probably being a successful actor wouldn't be bad too. :D
Sam just publicly executed his dms
Alternatively it would be funny if Ruidus was the werewolf moon and it was just a constant low-risk of a transformation during a flare
Flando is always including In-Game dates in his Timestamp posts, and you can find a pretty detail TImeline in the CR-Wiki as well!

46:45 Does anyone else remember Travis rolling 0-00 twice in a row in campaign one when Grog was trying to grow a beard because I sure do.
And that's the kind of back story collaboration that Matt and Taliesin do. I would love for this to be true.

i think the dianna/chet and FCG character growth in this string has been some of the biggest developments in such a short period of time. it was incredibly exciting and fun to see it change over the week or two they were together.
