WW2 Panzer IV Ausf D Walkaround

Before and during WW2, Germany built around 8,500 Panzer IVs, more than any of their other types of tanks. Constructed in limited numbers to start with, the Wehrmacht realised that the Panzer IV could be upgraded both with a larger gun and additional armour. This tank, which is at The Tank Museum, was built in early 1940 with a short 75mm KwK 37 L/24 gun, but later the main armament was replaced with a KwK 40 L/43 gun and additional armour was added. When captured, the tank was being used as a driver instruction vehicle.
