Hi Gals and Guys, this tutorial will show you how to get started creating your own Presets in the awesome Hotone Ampero II Stomp. I will be showing you how to create a single amp rig, a dual amp rig, how to create a Wet-Dry rig and how to use external FX. Enjoy and have an amazing day!!!
Thanks, it's hard to find such clear and understandable practical explanation like this one. Most of videos contains just demonstration of built-in presets, most of web-links are just offers to buy :) The only thing is missing here is explanation of re-amping, but i've already seen it in your another video, so thank you again :) PS: just recieved my ampero 2 stomp and it's awesome with it's routing abilities
Seen like this it is easier than I thought, yes, then you have to dedicate hours to find that personal sound !!! 🤜🏻🤛🏻. I really liked the last part Wet Dry preset
Great demo, I like the aesthetics of the unit for using at home as a recording interface - especially in white. Will be interesting to gauge how people compare this to L6 pod go / stomp. Hopefully the pricing will be good 👍
HI! Is there a lag or cut in the sound when changing presets? This is something that really bothers me, and it seems to be an issue with HX Stomp. I wanted to know about trails/spillover but you already answered below. Thanks! IF i got one would be to build a flyrig with a controller, EXP and a couple analog pedals (dirt and/or comp). Also to study/record straight in my pc. Any coments?
Hey dude, great Q! Depends on the reverbs and delays - sometimes I do find that the DSP runs out if I go for lets say the tape delay and then stack another one on and then two really heavy reverbs. But I have set it up with dual reverbs and delays so it is possible 😊 🙏 Have an amazing day!
Really nice video! Is there a way to have a complete gig setup having a clean and a high gain amp in the same preset and choose them by scenes? I would like to know that.
Glad you enjoyed it and it was helpful. Yes there is a way now - once you update the firmware to 2.0, three scenes are available on each Patch and you can set them up with various sounds and amps. I updated my one a while back and it unlocked some awesome features - ruclips.net/video/Y7pxZf3Rpbw/видео.html - of course, the Ampero II Stage is even better for this as it has 5 scenes per patch and makes it even more possible to set up clean/overdrive/lead sounds on a single patch - I show how to do that on this video: ruclips.net/video/SA4bBooTdcU/видео.html. Hope that helps! Enjoy and have an awesome day!
Hey Jay! Awesome video! Was really looking forward to this and now looking forward to your next tutorial for the Ampero 2 Stomp. I have a question related to this. Is it possible to turn off the amp/cab sim just for a specific output. I want to only use the effects going to my guitar amp via 4 cable method and have another output with amp/cab sim going to the Front of House, etc.? I know this can be done by splitting the signal before the amp and cab but I want to still be able to use the same delay, reverb, etc. after on the other signal without using up the available blocks or DSP. I want an "Amp Out" similar to the one in POD Go. Is this possible?
For this advanced routing we suggest you to download and check the manual from www.hotoneaudio.com since it's very complete and will show you all the possibilities. In case you're not a "manual person" you are always welcome to contact our tech team at service@hotoneaudio.com
Really interesting Q! I have been scratching my head about this one for a few days 😊 There isn't a dedicated amp out but with the parallel mode I guess you could set up the same effects in the second chain and have them running into the amp by setting up the input and output on the second loop to the FX loop send and return on the Ampero 2. Have an amazing day!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Patch changes are super fast. I haven’t detected any drop outs or delays. They seem to be pretty seamless. Have an awesome day.
Hi Jay, Happy New Year! I found this video super helpful. A few quick questions, if you don’t mind? Curious to know if you’ve been using any global EQ tweaks regularly, or just rolling off lows and highs on the cab like you did here? Do you find any of the celestion IRs replace a cab in any of your presets? I’ve noticed they’re quite resource heavy and a few folk online have commented that cab upgrades in Ampero II mean they’re good enough to use instead of IRs. Lastly, are there any scenarios where you’d use a pre-amp into an amp into a cab? Or would it just be either or with pre-amp and amp? I appreciate your time and your really detailed videos. Would be great to see a video on building a dual clean amp preset sometime, perhaps with multiple delays and reverbs.
Hey Daniel, great Qs - I did do a global EQ change - it is shown on my Ampero II Full Review video if you'd like to check that out. I rolled off some of the high end and boosted some mids. I ended up using the Hotone Cabs most of the time - they have really upped their game with those. The Celestion IRs are fantastic but more tone shaping options with the mic selections, placement, etc with the Hotone cabs. There probably are scenarios where the pre-amp can be used into an amp - I don't really have the need to do that as I have a pretty healthy collection of tubes amps - but if I didn't have, lets say, an SLO, I could feed the SLO preamp into the FX return of one of my other amps. Hope that helps and have an awesome day 😊
Whats up with the DSP limitations??.. really disappointing to hear that it doesn't even have enough hardware headroom to utilize it's software capabilities.
Hey Dave, yeah that sometimes happens - the amp and effects models on the Ampero 2 are much higher definition so they take up a lot more processing power. Maybe Hotone will optimize this in the future so that more can be loaded up. I came across it a couple of times but not really enough to stop me using the unit 😊 Have an amazing day!
@jayguitar Jay, got a dumb question but if you setup a patch as a stereo signal because that's how you'd like it through your computer but when you want to use your ampero with an FRFR speaker ( single speaker not 2)and use the same patch, can you do that ? Or do you now have to recreate the same chain in mono?
Hi there, yes correct about presets - no true bypass on amp modellers as the signal path is inside the hardware far too complicated to accomadate that. Have an awesome day.
Hi, if you want to go from clean to distortion and you want to a fender for the clean and say Soldano fro rhythm how would you set the signal park up. Does it need to be split? Thanks
Hey dude, great Q! probably the best way to set it up is as presets for clean, crunch and lead, then switch between then with the footswitches or via an external midi controller. That way you can set up the full amp and effects chain and also the volume levels so that there is a smooth switch between the sounds and a volume boost when you select the lead channel. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day.
@@gazzaduce3424 not necessarily as you can activate the delay and reverb trails on each patch which will allow the unit to carry on the delays and reverbs of what you're playing when you change patches or turn the effect on and off 😊
Hey dude, I have tried my own IRs and they don't work in the way I would like them to so I'm working on tweaking them and creating a specific IR pack for the Ampero 😊 🙏 Hope that helps! Have an amazing day!
Hey dude, great Q! yes there is a way - you can split the signal after the amp and before the cab by placing the node there (the Y split method) and then set output B to FX send - connect fx send to a power amp for the amp without cab (you could even insert effect, kinda emulating an fx loop), and then the normal outputs from the Ampero will still have the cab sound which can be sent to front of house. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day!
The downside Is that i can't put the node in the "b chain" so i can use only 5 blocks. Hope they fix becuse in this case i still prefer Ampero 1. Rockin'! 🤘
Hey dude, thats a good Q - I don't know myself. It would be worth emailing the support guys at Hotone about this as they will know for sure 😊 🙏 Have an amazing day!

Hey Jordi, yes very very easy to get going with this one 😊 Great little unit! Have an amazing day!
PURE GOLD!
It’s so intuitive to use
Great vids mate, just subscribed and bought an ampero 2
Thanks Scott! Great that you got one. I’m really enjoying using mine. Have an awesome day.
Jay in stomp mode can you assign any effect to the 3 footswitches or is the furthest right footswitch always Tap/Mode switcher?
Great presentation!
My only question is, this paralel amp use is possible only when you use it as interface or can be used live as well?!
Thx

It's 499 + taxes. Mine costs me 568€ (458€+110€ taxes)
Hi! Jay! Love the sound you dialed up , i was wondering what the diference is between the preamp slot and the amp slot

Yes that’s possible. There is a dedicated power amp block that you can use on the unit. Hope that helps. Have an amazing day!
Does the delay and reverb spillover when presets change?
Hey Roy, yes the delays and reverbs can be set up with trails so that they spill over when you change presets. Have a great day.
@@jayguitar Thanks bro. You have a great day too!
Jay
Could you make some presets like early VH and Warren DeMartini
Thanks David Stringer
