    Fr. Dalton’s interview on Pints With Aquinas about the Shroud was the most riveting discussion I’d ever witnessed. I don’t think anyone had any idea just how profound that session was going to be. It wasn’t just the information alone, though that was amazing, it was Father’s obvious love of his subject and his passion to tell people what he has learned. He galvanized me….my faith….I had an urgency to learn everything I can about Jesus. I wrote letters to my pastor and my Bishop! If you listen to only one person about the Shroud, make it Father Andrew Dalton.

    I'm not even Catholic,.. this guy is so authentic, I would go to this church.. I'm glad many young Catholic intellectuals are carrying a strong voice in the apologetics crowd.
    In the pursuit of sincere truth, we all find Christ collectively because Christ is truth.

    How many times have we read/heard John’s description of Peter at the tomb and never grasped the significance of “He saw and he believed”? Now I can see it in my mind that the shroud was undisturbed other than collapsing. Jesus didn’t fight his way out of it, nor did someone unwrap him and take him away. He rose and it collapsed. Beautiful! That passage is forever changed for me. Thank you!

      "He saw and he believed”
      Does this mean John saw the imprint and this caused him to believe?

      @@les2997John didnt see the imprint to believe. John watched on good friday as Joseph of Arimethea and the others came to wrap Jesus' body. John saw exactly how it was wrapped when the body was laid in the tomb. Now he enters the tomb again and sees the shroud exactly as it had been on friday, woth one notable difference, it was flat. He knew instantly that no one had taken the body, there was only one other possible option, and that realization is what caused him to believe. Remember, Peter wasnt present with John on friday night, so he could not have suddenly believed as John did. Now did he and Peter ever open the shroud to and see the imprint underneath? we dont know, it's likely they took the shroud with them back to the other disciples. what they did with it after that is anyone's guess. Imagine opening it and seeing that image though 😮😮

      Father is awesome! I have't watched this one but rigor sets in quickly there was likely a jaw strap, on legs, ... I no expert. I am curious if there would have been straps outside of linen... Just started listening and he brought up Lazarus and Jesus saying - un bound him!! I can't wait to watch... As far as the "Napkin"/ Face Cloth/ Sudarium, we all know that blood was a serious things to the Hebrews/Israelites. Everything with His blood having been on it would have belonged to and made it to tomb. Another thing - as far as - "they took him away" 1) they would have moved him in the Shroud - 2) any one in there breaking the Sabath was, if Jewish unscrupulous if not Jewish had no scruples - that 14'3" x 3'7 ??" was worth a fortune. It wouldn't have been just left behind.. On with the show!! See the part 2 of 2 "Resurrection" form him - he is big on the Holy Face devotion. A very important devotion and ignored by the folks leading the show...

    What if a photographic sensitive cloth was draped over a frosted glass manichen with a light inside and then quickly exposed by flashing the light inside the manichen. Would this produce a 3 dimensional image like the shroud?

      @@Kras_Mazov1 Well fine. No pigments, paints, dyes or stains have been found on the fibrils. There are no chemical or physical methods known which can account for the totality of the image, nor can any combination of physical, chemical, biological or medical circumstances explain the image adequately. There currently is a $1,000,000 reward out there for anyone that can prove that the image on there was manmade. Why don't you go claim it if you think that you know more than everyone else on the planet does?

    • @beverlyhurd8556

      @@Kras_Mazov1 I feel so sorry for the poor souls out there that are really are dumb enough to actually believe that some medieval mad scientist created this in his hut somewhere. Ignorance is one thing a but man! That is just as silly a claim as can be made right there! Over the last several decades around 100 or so scientists and other researchers and their _tens of thousands of hours of examination_ have PROVEN that the Shroud of Turin once wrapped the body of a beaten, scourged, and crucified man that died wearing a crown of thorns. Who else could this have been other than Jesus??
      And the Catholic church does not own the Shroud. The Pope does. And he said that no more damaging test would be allowed on the Holy Shroud. And since Carbon 14 dating requires snipping and burning then that takes care of that.

      It might. But the issue is that it’s at least 600 years old, and has real blood on it. Painting with blood is virtually impossible for a variety of reasons. So any theory must account for this.

    • @edwardjones2129
      @edwardjones2129 8 месяцев назад +4

      The Shroud's known forensic science doesnt suport this theory, and how exactly would they have been able to do this in the 14th century lol

    At 22:42 Fr. Dalton presents the "invalid sample" hypothesis for the accounting of the Shroud's unexpected radiocarbon readings. This is a popular idea, but it has been falsified on many counts. One of the most dramatic is the 8th century dating of the Sudarium by carbon fourteen.
    See: "The Carbon Dating of the Shroud is Explained by Neutron Absorption," Rucker, 2020.
