      SAFETECH Those are basically Simplex’s version of the Edwards 439D-10AWC bell

      Maybe they’re just very old. After all, that place does have old fire alarms. And the building itself looks old.

    here's what the system is:
    an old Faraday horn
    Simplex 2901-9333 bells
    Simplex Smoke detectors
    Simplex 4251-20's (some of them are in bad condition)
    an explosion proof pull station
    a grey explosion proof bell
    Simplex 4100U set on continuous

      question what's the requirements to become an inspector for Johnson Controls Simplex and filming as long as I do my job correctly is ok right.

    The only Simplex panels we have yet to see you Test is a 4004 and a 2120

      Not many “original” 2120s around anymore. A few 4004s but they too are a dying breed.

    @SAFETECH Suprised to see that the bells aren’t on strobe Plates as I see a lot of these bells in my area and many other areas on strobe plates. Any reason why they didn’t add strobes or mount the old bells on newer 4904 strobe plates when the panel was replaced, Since this panel looks to be A 4010ES or a 4010

    Reminds me of WEM! They have a Simplex 4100U InfoAlarm system, with Simplex 2901 bells like these plus the 9322 and 9724 bells and a bunch of bells like Edwards and Notifier!

    Hello! I really enjoy your videos. I have a question I was gonna ask in one of your previous videos: when you’re performing a walk test on a system like this, what does it mean when the bells/horns sound a different number of times? Is it to specify different zones so you know that the system is responding to the correct device?

      Yes you are correct. In this case the corresponding zone is sounded. If the system is addressable the notification appliances will typically sound out the devices address.

      Jhebert Dela Cruz that’s how the walk test usually works with Simplex panels. It’s like how Silent knights panels just put out the alarm on how many seconds the zone is.

      I'll bet the horn replaced a dead bell at some point in the past. Twoplyboy had a two part bell test in a big building that had three horns but the rest were bells at the beginning of part 1 there was an EST integrity with a strobe and a dying Edwards/EST Adaptahorn and at some point in part 2 there was an Edwards 892 horn.

    Looks like it used to be a Simplex 4002, or even a Simplex 4100 system set up as conventional! I saw something like that before.

      @@CJ9899 That's likely. There's a mall a few towns over from where I am that was built in 1991 with a Simplex 4100 system set up as conventional, with 2901-9838 horns on 4903-9101 strobe plates (several stores have TrueAlert horn/strobes.)

      wileyk209zback My mall in Ontario Canada has a large 2 stage EST 3 system with integrity horns and 270-GAOs, and another section with a Simplex 4100U and 2099 2 stage t bars, 2901-9838 horns

    3:24 we have those detectors in the UK, they r Hochiki smoke detectors. That’s rebranded by Simplex

      System trips another panel in an adjoining building. The disable inhibits that feature for testing/service purposes.

      There's no by-law national code in the USA. States, counties, and even cities can establish their own code or modify the national code.
