BSP, essentially, is an entirely different job from the Finance. I hope he will make the necessary adjustment as needed. Being a governor is doing oversight and restoring balance while being a finance secretary is more proactive and innovative. Entirely two different jobs.

He has this air of confidence and possessed this 'can do mentality'. He has openly declared that he can cut our debt and that we were in worse condition before. Why the VAT for food is 12%,,. Isn't big enough. ???. Why not 5 or 10%....
VAT in Thailand is only 7% and has been that way for years :). We should look for other ways to generate money other than taxation. Because taxation affects the poor also who are not as financially capable to pay them compared to the currently rich and upwardly mobile people.
There should be an overall economic plan that should be shared with the population. For instance, Vietnam and Thailand are jumpstarting their economies by opening their borders to tourism. And surprisingly, Vietnam has not suffered any lag in the influx of foreign investments during the pandemic, indicating that foreign investors will keep coming back to this emerging economy that is Vietnam.
The Philippines should also follow suit in terms of foreign direct investments. I know FDI has also risen in the Philippines but it seems like Vietnam is being favored more in terms of FDI. The government should figure out WHY and establish AGAIN the Philippine's competitive advantage against these emerging economies before they beat us in our own game :(!
