Hello Robret, Greetings from Ecuador I congratulate you for your videos are very clear and technical, I like to do my own projects, my question is that if this cnc can perform high relief work or everything depends on the software and drivers used, I would also like to know if I can use a Mega Arduino to control the elements. Apologies for my English, I'm using a translator
In the start of the video, you have an aluminum piece in your right hand, could you tell me what's the name please? I need to know and I can't find it on the Internet.
I've watched you build this, and so far, you have been smart, clever and well-purposed to the end of putting this kit together. With one glaring exception. Not one drop of Loctite. Not Temporary Blue, not Permanent Red. Is this an oversight, or by design ?
Nice Build!!! Where did you buy the universal plate for the z-axis? Did you buy the gantry riser plates pre-made, or di you have to cut and drill those out by hand? I too am using Linear rods kit, only thing I’m worried about is that the rods will have play in them, but I’m confident it should work for what I’m doing (guitar bodies). MAN! This thing looks super solid! P.S. What size motors are you using? Do they handle the weight okay? I’m going with 3 x High torque NEMA 23, 200 step stepper motors… I bought some controllers that support step muliplication, so I’m hoping it will work good enough for what I’m doing here. Any advice on plate parts will be greatly appreciated, sir. Thank you!
All parts came pre cut and drilled as part of a complete kit. (Which is no longer available) Motors are nema 23 , 425 oz. in. They handle the job just fine.
It seems to me the weakest point in this build is the gantry. The height/ weight mounted to a fairly small spread on the rail ( less than 6") lends itself to more deviations on heavy cuts and fast moves. There is a lot of weight and a fairly high center of gravity amplifying everything. This is why you see most upright gantry plates designed with a longer plate where the bearings ride the rails at around 10" spread or more and a gantry height only as tall as needed (most around 7" bit clearance.) Please let us know how things are working with this build and what kind of tolerances you get in different materials. Thanks for the videos.
Haven't had any probl;ems because of the gantry. I don't use the machine every day or sometimes every week so I really don't run it through its paces as they would say. As far as tolerences, that all depends on how well it's calibrated but for what I use it for occassionally, it does okay.
MAAAAN OH MAANNN i wish i could buy one or atleast make it lol, but im in the navy too poor lol. do you have aparts build list or do you think one could be made on a budget?
How many milimiters are the aluminum pieces and the diameter of the Housing ball screw? I want to do one of 1000mmX700mm and have no idea how to size this parameters...
It's about 30" x 48" working area. The linear rails are like these in this link but not the same ones: www.amazon.com/Included-Bearings-Automated-Machines-Equipments/dp/B09MMYTVZM/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3ETG4DHA6HB9O&keywords=linear+rails&qid=1677724002&sprefix=linear+rails%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.304cacc1-b508-45fb-a37f-a2c47c48c32f&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExWjlUTFVGUkc2TDQyJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzMxOTgxM1NJRDY3WUFLWlpFQSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzE3NjkwMjMwRllBVlNZUEhTNSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
+MyRobertadams I have to ask: did you machine those side plates yourself or did you order them? Where I live those would probably run in the hundreds of dollars each....just for the machining.....and easily $150 for the plate itself.... Just did a rough price: steel plate would be half as thick and 1/6th the price.....sure, it'd be 6 lbs heavier but.....

I am really super impressed with this build. U seem like the regular old granddad, but u have some great engineering skills!
Excellent job. All I need now is a reason to build one. Ha.
Thanks for sharing.
Es usted todo un maestro. Muchas gracias por este y los otros videos, me han sido de gran utilidad por su sencillez y muy buena documentacion. Gracias
Nice work...
A serious machine!
I envy you the Al profiles! For us in SK would have to buy 250 kg of any kind! Ouch.
Miroslav.
Excellent
Looks grate
IT IS HELP FULL
I'm glad, thank you!
Thanks...you done a great job,would you like to tell me about X-Axis plate size(L x W),Y-Axis Plate size (L x W)
Nice table router kit about the right size. where did u get it, I wont one.
Nice

hi this is a great job watched all 9 clips thanks for sharing, and i do have a request.please can you tell me where that i could buy the full set,,
Something you might want to do is pin your rails once you know you have it all adjusted where you want it.
Good work. :) what is thichness of linear rails and ballscrews
Where did you get those aluminium profiles from? 60x60mm with 2 rabbets?
if use linear rail 16mm rigid enough ?
The center of those shafts are not hard. The rods are case hardened.
nice engine .can you send me the software to learn. .i very keen to make it. Thank you
Hello,
Could you plz tell me the diameter and length of the worm that you used?
Thank you

Thank you! Best of luck!
@@MyRobertadams is this cnc kit is still available ?
@@lepretrelucas2309
No it’s not. Their website no longer exists.
@@MyRobertadams thank you verry much can you says me the référence of the linear slide and aluminium profile please ?
I think it is sur 20mm ?
@@lepretrelucas2309
Linear rails are 20mm and aluminum extrusion profiles are 60 x 60mm.
how thick are the side plates?
very nice!! I want the maps and sizes. Can anyone help me? please!
sir, what is the size of side sigma profiles?
Whot size of profiles do u used to this machine ?

I'm wondering how much does it cost?
MyRobertadams thank you a lot sir
2' 42" golpear esa pieza tan hermosa, el sueño de cualquiera que quiere armar su propio CNC, es un pecado!!!

Friend, whats the precision of your CNC machine ?
Thks
I have one machine with Z axis very larger than XY. I'll use it to mill a cast in wood for glass fiber helicopter blades.
What size sbr did you use for the X and Y axis
I'm not good at abbreviations, what is sbr?
@@MyRobertadamssorry. I was asking what diameter your linear rail are for the X and Y axis
Thanks

They are 20mm.
