Is there not a key way on the crankshaft?

      Yes, there is.

@@steelcitymechanical3902 Does the key way coincide with TDC and the TDC mark on the rotor?

@@chasingwhitelines Not that I'm aware of, it is there to locate the flywheel in a fixed position on the tapered shaft.

@@steelcitymechanical3902 OK. That would have been too much forward thinking for the engineers. These lionelli ignition systems are mindblowingly over engineered. I don't understand why honda can have a cdi box with the advance built in and these sytems have a hall effect that runs the advance curves. Just a short background, no/intermittent spark condition, and all the tests I've run point to the CDI box. Additionally, the coil being built into the cdi box doesn't allow you to isolate any more components than the Pulse generation circuit and the Kill switch. The tests I've run on the pulse/high voltage circuit are producing good AC voltage with my DVA adapter. The reading i've done there is no way to test the hall effect sensor, granted that would produce a stumbling, ignition timing issue, not a full out no spark condition. I believe that my conclusions are correct that the CDI box is at fault.

@@chasingwhitelines I have seen the cdi crap out once it gets hot, or wet. Intermittent no spark is no fun to deal with.
Judging by what you have said and assuming you have run the tests properly, I would agree with your conclusion.
