One thing to be noted: there's a different taste to cooking with induction stoves You can only use cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel cookware, because copper and aluminum can't run the current through them. I think the main thing is you aren't getting direct heat to the pan. The metal is vibrating, so the food cooks differently.
AND, not to mention how much MONEY it is to buy and induction stove, that's Number 1 AND number 2 is that if your induction stove breaks down, IT IS SOOOOOOOO expensive to get it fixed.. Almost the cost of just buying a new one.. My Gas stove goes down, I can easily replace a couple components and it's fine. NOT so with induction cooking.. Maybe prices will come down in the future, but for right now, HECK NO! I can't afford to fix or buy an induction stove..
Problem with switching to induction is that its really easy for you to burn your steel cookwares on it since the heating is quick and so localized. Its great for anything involving deep frying and boiling but pan frying is a lot harder since its really hard to control the temperature
@@Iceykitsune Very hard from my experience. You also can't move the pan around too much especially raising it in the air to flip eggs, as you will lose the heating. it requires constant contact.
I've got a really oversized exhaust hood with 200mm solid tubing connected directly to ventilation shaft, every connection sealed and run it at least at min speed whenever doing ANYTHING with the stove. For steaks or sausages I run it at full, having enough suction to hold an old-style calculator glued to the filter grid.
Everything in the world is interconnected. It’s good that an educational channel shows how cause and effect can be subtle and unexpected and tie back into bigger problems.
My grandmother grew up in a rural area over a hundred years ago. She said you never wanted the fireplace to go out because it would be too hard to relight it. Later she moved to a city with all gas appliances and had an unvented heater for the winter. She also was a cafeteria worker that lived to be 95. Maybe she was an outlier.
4:03 I think it’s important to note that the induction can heat the pot or pan which in turn though conduction can make the stove dangerously hot. Still technically not directly
Yep, he did say "not directly" but didn't specify how... Sure he meant you can't turn it on without a cookware and burn yourself. With others you sure can.
My mom always said electric ovens and gas stoves are the best combo when it comes to cooking - something about the flavor. But this video made me realize there are more factors to consider when getting an oven and stove
I have a Induction stove top, it is very fast to reach cooking tempatratur, but yes you will need to use cooking pots and pans that have a high iron conten like ferromagnetic materials. Either it contains iron or has a layer with magnetic properties.
The problem with electric is that when you live in a place like South Africa where electricity is unreliable, you need a reliable source to cook on. Gas stoves are a luxury which more people invest in for this exact reason.
I ate avocados before they even became trendy and still do. Never once hurt myself. I use a paring knife that has a serrated edge and round tip. It looks cheap (and is cheap) with a plastic handle but cuts so well which is more important than how it looks.
Really appreciate the time that goes into the stop-motion and I have to admit it looks really good. But is it just me who couldn't focus on what he was saying because of how extremely busy and jittery the animation was and all of the sound effects and background music? Was a bit too fast for a video explaining stuff I think
How do you cut avocados? I cut them on a cutting board, rather than holding them in my hand. A simple butter knife is good enough to cut a ripe avocado, so no big kitchen knives needed. I remove the pit using a spoon or even just my fingers, and have never found it necessary to stab it with a knife. I've been enjoying avocados for breakfast for over ten years now and have never cut myself preparing them, and get actual anxiety watching people hack at the pit with large knives.
No one wants avocado cut hand. 🥑✋ 🤕 I just bought a specialized avocado cutting tool this week. It was on clearance for $2.50 (USD). I'm looking forward to trying it out.
I'm open to induction stoves, but the government must not ban natural as stoves. Allow citizens the freedom to choose, and have the consumer market decide if induction stoves prove their reliability and value to the consumer.
After factoring the large areas dedicated to crops and cattle, subject to deforestation, the amount of green house gases emitted by burning fossil fuels, the risks to health created by hazardous chemicals used on farms etc, we can come to a simple solution: we should stop eating!
A tip for cutting avocados: don't use a sharp knife, avocados could be cut even with a spoon. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. Greetings.

I’m shocked to learn about avocado hands… I basically just hold it in my hand and cut it w a knife. The knife will be stopped by the seed and then you just rotate it to cut in half… I have always thought it’s an easy fruit to work with…
If you have compatible cookware, it shouldn't be an issue for induction. Or if it is, a standard home cooktop also wouldn't be adequate. Induction cooktops can bring a pot of water to boil much faster than gas or electric resistance heating, so they actually are doing a better job than alternatives in getting heat to the pot or pan, and by extension, the water or food in the pot or pan.
@@containedhurricane I've never seen a household stove burner 13 inches across to match your steamer size, so it sounds like a commercial kitchen issue.
@@dosadoodle The flame from the gas stove burner can engulf the bottom part of a large steamer or pan, because the gas stove burner comes with pan supports to lift a large pan. Could an induction cooktop with a 20cm-burner heat a large pan with 33cm diameter?
