Thank you Nathan for your quick response. I was taking some photos at a museum and because of light and shadows, it was suggested that I use bracketing and then photo stack to blend the photos. I will give this a shot next time I am out. Thanks again, Jim
Another insightful tutorial Nathan. About the 'blend', would this work to take one photo with 3 exposures (light, dark, original) and work them kind of like HDR photos to boost shadows and reduce over exposure? Thanks much.
I think the person asking about a. bracketing is wanting to know basically about HDR. PSX does something that is quite good as it will create an HDR resultant image from one image and that is by using Edit > HDR. From there the user can make adjustments to the amount and the vibrance of the image and even mask the areas where the HDR is to affect. I often will begin with this just to see what is available in the camera image and get an idea whether the HDR is sufficient or does one need to work in the Edit and Color menus to get the result desired. I have worked on images with both HDR > QM > Color and sometimes even done another HDR and maybe a Magic Color. How with focus stacking, again that is a merging of multiple images of the same scene with the focus in multiple locations throughout the image. While with Bracketing, the camera can generally be used on both a tripod or handheld (but very very carefully), focus stacking really has to be done with a tripod to get the most satisfactory result. Each image is done manually and some photographers have done up to a couple dozen images. PSX will not do a focus stacking - at least so far. Affinity Photo will so if one does a lot of focus stacking, the it is a modest investment to have that tool. Lots of tutorials on how the process works in YT. Now, maybe Nathan can explain what the difference is between merge and apply when using frames in PSX. I have tried both and don't find a difference. I may have just missed something subtle. For all the topics in this video, maybe we will see others offer some other comments with helpful tips so we can all learn more about this very nice program.
Thank you, Nathan for this tutorial. I think that we deviated a bit from the subject, and so I am still unclear about how to "merge" two photos. I am able to insert a photo on top of another, but how do I make them one?
Is there anyway possible that you can show us how to stack photos? The photoscape team made a tutorial but there is no words to it. They move the cursor so fast that I can't see what the next steps are. I bought Photoscape Pro and paid the extra money for it. There are is no guidance on this topic.
Are you in the editor or insert tab? Editor you can crop. Insert tab you can not crop, but I open another tab of PhotoScape X and bring it into the editor. Let me know if that helps or if you need me to make a video on that.
@@BriNathanCollins I am using Insert on the edit tab…. So it’s impossible to adjust the Edges while in insert mode?… Yeah you should make a video on this, bc it is really easy in other softwares but impossible in phototscape? Is there quick work around to lay a bunch of images on an edit tab without using cut out tab for any of the images. I am trying to make collage for cover art but with more freedom and more than 21 images than the collage tab. I watch you videos all the time they really do help. You’re a baller bro
@@BriNathanCollins thanks bro. You the goat! Keep grinding dawg you making life easier for a lot ppl some big company will see you working out here probably give you a big deal or something
Love you but this didn't show me if you can simply merge 'bracketed' (which you mention at the beginning) photos a la one click as in photoshop. Thanks.

Yes I should make a video on that as well
Excellent job! Love it.
Glad you like it!
This is a big help man keep it going!
Awesome!

Yes, I'm hoping to make a video walking through that idea.

Thanks man. I like seeing all your chess videos. I'm more of a "go" player, but chess is a lot of fun.
Wonderful ,thanx Nathan
Your welcome!

Sorry about that. When you insert your second image you can mess with the opacity slider and mask features to merge the photos.
Is it safe to use it to edit images in RUclips vlogs like thumbnails, art banners, others?
Will there be problems with RUclips?
It should work just as well as any other editor
Nice, thankyou
You’re welcome!

I’ll see if I can re-create that PhotoScape video with some commentary.
Bro, I love you.
Thanks!
Bro is there a way to just drag a corner and it cuts off the edge(s) you dragged past?
