    I really liked that Din didn't necessarily care about owning the darksaber. he knows that he can't "handle" it so he has genuinely no issues parting with it (even though he's technically following the rule of the darksaber).

    The IG droid he wanted to restore in the first episodes...the reason he wanted it was because it was a droid he trusted and he wanted it for backup when he went to the mines on Mandalore. But they managed to get the job done with just R5 so restoring the IG was no longer strictly necessary.

      @@MarcusFrederiksen you push their reunion to episode 5 and have a line at the start of that episode saying how grief has done business with the pirates before... they are pirates you don't really need to set up why they want to raid a town...
      Greif isn't in mando season 2 till episode 5 so don't act like he is an important character, also you dont need to set up the land. As it makes Vislas speech about doing the right thing because they are Mandalorians stick more, as they have no insensitive to help only because its the Way. Then at the end because they did the right thing they are rewarded with land to build a home. This took me 5mins to think up, I am not as good a writer as Favreau and its quite basic. Stop making excuses for a billion dollar franchise and company, this is these people's jobs to make quality content.
      If you bought a car with 3 wheels, yes it would be drivable but you'd want 4 cause that's the standard set by all cars made before. My point being Mando seasons 1 and 2 aren't perfect but they set up a story and had a pay off, this season has been alot of set ups without pay offs, which is fine but nothing they are doing during the set ups has even came close to the heights of seasons 1 and 2

      Continuing plot thread... Din goes to Navarro for IG-11 - IG-11 is broken and he needs a part, so Din goes to Tatooine in search of that part - Pelli doesn't have the part, but sells Din the astromech R5 - R5 leads Carson Tiva to the Mandalorian covert where he can inform Din that Navarro is under attack by pirates - Mandalorians come to the aid of Navarro and receive a place to call home as a reward. It's all connected!

Also, your affectionate face rub and compliment to Holden in this video just makes me want to acknowledge how amazing it is that the two of you continually share so much of your love for each other with your viewers. Anyone who has watched this channel for any length of time knows that both of you are the shit. What makes that even more apparent is how affectionate and dedicated you are to one another, and seeing your relationship form, develop, grow and then mature to this point where your imminent child will bring things full circle has been an absolute privilege. The storytelling aspect of having contained or smaller stories each episode with the main storyline riding in the background is the same as the perfect writing style of Avatar the Last Airbender. Ever since the Mandalore episode, they really work well off one another and Grogu has clearly started to form an attachment for Bo as a motherly figure. It's worth noting that the previous seasons also had these one-off episodes, basically in the same way; they have some task to complete in order to further their main objective. In season 1 Din had to help those farmers in order to find a safe place to hide out, then later help that rookie bounty hunter, and then help Navarro clear the Imperial base to get his ship fixed. Season 2 he had to transport the frog lady with the eggs to eventually find Bo Katan, and later bust Mayfield out of jail and infiltrate the Imperial refinery in order to find the location of Moff Gideon's ship. I agree this one probably had less connection, but it's still within the normal formula for the show.

    @peterkoester7358 Год назад

    Keep in mind, what you may interpret as the main point of an episode when you're watching it may in fact just be a cover to advance a completely different plot point.
    Everyone assumed Din returning to Navarro for IG-11 was the main point of the episode and that IG-11 would be important somehow. But from what we have seen as the episode progresses, going to Navarro for IG-11 instead put Din in conflict with the pirates, the pirates later attacked Navarro, and the Mandalorian clan had to come back to protect the citizens of Navarro and thus gained a new place to call home. Maybe IG-11 wasn't the important part, but giving the Mandalorians a home was, but you could not get there without the IG-11 sub-plot?
    One thing this series has proven is something that seems inconsequential on first viewing has a major impact to the plot several episodes - even as much as a season later! The same goes for the Andor series. What seems minor on first viewing has an important effect later on in the series.

    I LOVED THIS EPISODE!! I know some people didn’t care for it and some people were triggered by two chubby individuals one a black female and are yelling at the top of their lungs about it.
    But I personally had so sooo much fun with this one. It gave me Dr. Who vibes, Alice & Wonderland, The Capital from The Hunger Games, and a little Bladerunner. I don’t know if it is recency bias or if I truly do feel this is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series…not top 3 or anything but it is definitely up there for me.
    I felt Jack Black and Lizzo’s characters truly fit in as much as people are saying they didn’t. To me those two truly made sense as a plump couple who are king and queen of a independent planet where everyone can eat and drink whenever and whatever they want, party whenever, and just have fun at every chance like a 24/7 intergalactic vacation.
    I understand some of the actual criticisms people had like the story this season not being as clear and too many cameos in one episode and being taken out of it because of the cameos. I personally never have issues with being taken out of something due to cameos but I know it is a thing.
    However blaming everything people hate about Disney’s Star Wars on Lizzo and saying really disgusting thins. Like I saw a bunch of people review bombing and spamming comments on Star Wars and Lizzo’s social media saying “fat black b*tches do not exist in the Star Wars universe as cannon and they shouldn’t start now” and basically saying some really atrocious things putting all blame of everything ever wrong with Disney’s Star Wars (which to those people im guessing is literally everything because it seems like they never stop complaining about something).
    ALL OF THAT IS ACTUALLY DISGUSTING TO ME! If you don’t like it for an actual reason that’s perfectly fine…but don’t go out of your way to put someone down and be a hateful mean person saying regally mean and hurtful things.

    This season kind of leans more towards painting the bigger picture of large communities in the galaxy rather than moving the story line. Showing all Mandalorians coming together, showing how some planets would rather stay neutral than pledge alliegence, showing how the new republic is not willing to help everyone as it did before, how it gets infiltrated by former imperials which helps a lot to explain how the First Order came to rise. All this is a grand set up for the next big bad, which, of course, is Grand Admiral Thrawn.

      @@Vampiro443 The point of the Mandalore-storyline in Rebels was that the mandalorian people learn how to move on.
      That the mandalorian question their traditions and start to think that some of them are outdated. Or at least not really helpful in their current situation.
      So when Bo-Katan gets the Darksaber, it‘s because her people actually believes in her. In what she accomplished for her people.
      Now the mandalorians just follow Bo-Katan because of the tradition. I don‘t like that.

    I saw a clip of Joe Manganiello talking about a conversation he had with Jon Favreau. Joe wanted Jon to join his D&D game that he DM's for a bunch of celebritys and Directors. Jon turned it down because he said, The Mandalorian was his D&D adventure. It made him feel like he was young again playing D&D and building his own universe. Which these episodes all feel like side quests the characters are completing with the main story being a slow burn.

    I think this episode IS part the the main storyline. This season has been about the rise of Bo Katan and Mandalore. In the course of the episode, they helped a new world, cementing relations between the two cultures. And then Bo took back her fleet, continuing the task the armorer set for Bo, which is to reunite the scattered tribes of Mandalore. Really the only other storyline going on this season is the mystery behind Moff Gideon and his plans. I'm not sure, is there another main story that I am not seeing? I keep hearing people commenting as if there is.

    Jack Black’s character is good at rebuilding cities. And they owe Din and Bo a favor. Think about what that could do for Mandalore. So it wasn’t just a side quest. A lot of the episodes that seemed like a side quest really pushed the story forward.

    This was a very strange episode, the tone change was quite jarring. But I enjoyed it a lot once I got into the fact that it was a going to be a fun side adventure episode.
    I am still interested to see what they do with Grogu. He is still using his force powers for very non Jedi things. It will be interesting to see if keeps becoming darker, or just finds a kind of balance.

    • @shannonwoodcock1035
      @shannonwoodcock1035 Год назад

      I haven't seen Grogu do something dark. He was force choking some of Moff's guys but he was captured.
      I think the underlying story is Grogu has Yoda's saber. He chose to be a Jedi and a Mandalorian. If Luke spent any time communing with Yoda/Kenobi/Anakin he is going to learn that the fall of the Jedi order could be traced back to their abandonment to personal connections. I bet Grogu is Yoda & Yaddle's kid, they both hid him and the shame of the situation clouded Yoda to the extent he did not realize what was going on until it was too late.
      Grogu will not turn dark. Disney won't allow it.

    Luke is the true owner of the Dark Saber. Pre Viszla > Maul > Palpatine > Luke (using his father to kill Palpatine), or if kills are what counts Pre Viszla > Maul > Obi-Wan > Vader > Luke (via his manipulation of Anakin into sacrificing himself while killing Palpatine). Also Sabine stole it from Mauls house and gave it to Bo and she took it then....

    They don’t hate this episode, it’s more so this kind of episode this late into the season that they have an issue with.

    This series is doing a lot of heavy lifting, believe it or not. There's an over arching story going forward that's being threaded through The Mandalorian, Ahsohka and the other SW series. On the one hand they've clearly got marching orders to justify and hint at the sequel trilogy in the SW universe. But at the same time, they have to keep their fans and Disney masters happy, while also trying to create a new threat worthy of the (hopefully) eventual SW cross-over event to deal with the new threat coming (not 100% convinced it's Thrawn, btw) and all in an 8 episode arc. This seems like a throw away episode, but it's actually planted multiple seeds. The most obvious is at the end with Bo-Katen getting the dark saber and her Mando's. But the throw away line about establishing Mandalore as a government with this planet backing them goes to the world building that will be necessary down the line. I think it may also foreshadow an eventual rebuilding of "Mandalorian" space. And I suspect they're trying to hint at a post "Rise of Skywalker" threat down the line too.

    The ROBOT at the beginning IG-11 was already explained Holden. You missed it. Din wanted it to use it on Mandalore as it was supposed to be toxic. the whole memory chip thing was to get Din to got Tatooine for the chip from Peli Motto. But there it was deduced by the little mechanich guys that the chip can't be obtained. The purpose of all this is so that Din would instead get the R5 Asrtro mech droind to test Mandalore for Toxicity. Which he did, making rebuilding IG-11 irrelevant. But the purpose of Din getting R5 was so that later the Mandalorians can be tracked by the X-Wing pilot so he could tell Din that Navarro was under attack. When asked how he founfd them, the X-Wing pilot said that he tracked a droid that he worked with in the rebellion. Which was R5. Same droid with the bad motivator from the first Star Wars movie that Luke and uncle Owen rejected and took R2D2 instead. got to follow along Bro :).
