I changed my audio output to concert hall, and the recording became instantly flawless! Way to play to your surroundings. This is an amazing recording! Your glissandos are wonderful! I love your lower register! Such passionate playing!
I would recommend Evah Pirazzi Gold on your top two strings or maybe Obligato D and a larsen A. Just a thought since it is pretty bright. If you like how it sounds, don't change it!! :)
Great Piece! Also a quit demanding piece for the pianist. I would recommend all fans of this piece to listen to the interpretation from Julia Rebekka Adler and José Gallardo which just has been published on blu-ray. The album "Contacto Tango" also includes the 6 estudios tanguisticos played on viola.
This is because piazzolla was a piano player also. He didn't know what to chose, play piano and compose classical pieces or play the bandoneon and compose tangos. As a result we have piazzolla's tangos, a kind of tangos mixed with classical music.
To be honest I don't really lik the ideas behind the playing (I especialy dislike the transition to 8:11, even though 8:11 is beatifully done if you count out the few notes on the a string), even though it was well played. And props to the pianist, she's really good.
It’s incredible to me that he seems to have 11 minutes of playing memorized, very beautiful too
Wow.. I really love his playing.
Really outstanding contact point controlling.
No me queda mas por decir que, gracias piazzolla por haber existido, gracias a estos musicos por la brillante ejecucion!!

Es simplemente maravilloso
Perfection.
Fantastic pianism - but who is she ??? Not credited - unbelievable !!
I thought the same - wondering who she is. Or if either have ever performed at Ravinia (or the Bennet Gordon Hall or Martin Theater inside Ravinia!!)
Great !
The piano part is difficult - and important - enough to show her face in the video too.
And let us know her name!
Pei-Yao Wang
Bravo!!

best pianist/choir instructor: Orlando Diaz👍
Beautiful violin playing, not a viola
You are absolutely right, my bad. Congratulations!!!!
It is indeed a viola, seemingly small because he is tall and looks strong.
