Born late 50's on our little rock, so very nostalgic for me. Thank you.

I remember it very well, as a young lad, i must say it was a great place to grow up. Some times i wish never left the island. Its very hard to return home, since my parents have passed on. i have travelled all round the world but now live in Sarawak, Malaysia. But Jersey is the best place on this Earth.

This is very interesting. I live here and it's so cool to see how much it's changed but to still be able to recognise places!!!!!!

Thank you for posting this. There is a whole chunk of my childhood in Jersey here. The town has changed massively since then. The view of the sea by the promenade simply doesn't exist now as the beach was infilled to build office blocks. It is astonishing to see the buildings, shops, advertisement signs and streets as they were. So many details brought back to life by this clip!

Well that was nostalgic. Made me tear up. The old airport building with an Argosy, Viscount and the Red Arrows. Like several other commenters I miss my little island.

I worked at the Chateau Plasir St Ouen's Bay 1980, great times , but my best memory is the ferry crossing the St Ouens Bay at twilight as it headed to the UK. All lit up then disappearing over the horizon

@@jimcameron4672 Yes correct ,it's because he had a short fuse. Andrew Muir and my Grandfather Leslie Ellerbeck started the place in
1963- 1964 they employed shorty. They also owned the sunshine hotel etc

Yes, I remember Jersey looking like that. Before the Fort Regent building, when it was used for coal. Before the tunnel, long before the Weigh bridge stopped being a bus terminus !

Lovely nostalgia - but we could do without the intrusive “projector whirring” and just have quiet music
