I cannot put in words how thankful I am for you, you have singlehandedly solved a problem of mine which i have been trying to fix for years, my dumb isp seems to not want to allow portforwarding for its customers for some reason , this allowed me to bypass that and im so incredibly grateful for this, you earned a new subscriber
same thing, its both the incompetence of their employees and the fact that all their systems are ancient so they only allow for the use of like 7 ports (21, 22, 80, 443, 8080 ect)
they don't because of a system called CG-NAT. IP resources cost money. Because demand is naturally high, but we have limited amounts due to technical limitations. So they use methods so multiple customers can share the same IP.
They probably haven't assigned you a public ipv4 address, they use CGNAT to share the same public ip along multiple customers. Many of them allow you to request a public ip for free (most people aren't hosting stuff, so a shared ip is fine for them), while other might charge you extra for it.
any external service will never be as reliable as portforwarding and running the server by yourself but this is really good for simplifying the process for beginners
@@itzmazenra8193 I believe it’s good because I’ve used a similar service before, but it would let people connect to single player worlds through an ip (similar to radmin vpn or hamachi but built into Minecraft) and it ran decent.
its not about beginners. My old ISP back in the day did not allow portforwarding even though the router supported it. This is just making a tunnel to your network through third party proxy.
@@CommentCritic That’s true too, but it’s such a niche scenario so I didn’t think of that. It could also be useful if you don’t have access to the password of your router or if you are quickly trying to set up a server.

Just a heads up, I would highly recommend port-forwarding normally if you have the option, as doing it this method gives access to this company to your internet. If it's the only option you have, then maybe chance it but I would avoid this if possible.
no it doesn't. your computer will start sending playit every bit of connection on port 25565, and playit will make a new port forwarding link which can't leak your ip.
Yes, I just want to add: Think about how this company generates revenue. It must come from somewhere. And Ad-Sense it is most definetly not. If something is free -> You are the product (in this case probably your hardware or internet being used for a residential proxy)
Great Tutorial! I needed more like 4.8 Minutes to figure everything out with the ports but it was still a breeze to execute your steps. Thank you very much :)
There's a lot of potential in a platform like that outside just helping bypass NAT for people. I can see the platform taking off for people who just want to play games with their friends and being able to pick a relay on that site for their local country. Not everyone's ISP gives customer routers a public IP (CG-NAT), not every router has UPNP and not everyone wants to play with NAT and local Firewall rules on their network. The site could be expanded to whitelist connecting player IPs and even lightly inspect the traffic to make sure malicious traffic other than the expected game protocol can be logged and dropped. Perhaps even some reporting features for the user too.
I get what you mean man. You can just host your own websites this way too. The issue although is, is there any traffic or bandwidth limit. The same thing can be done using other services like ngrok but it has speed limits applied.
This is similar to the e4mc mod. Opening a world to LAN with e4mc installed will give you an address in chat, similar to how it usually tells you your port number. As long as the world is open and open to LAN, the address is valid.
This is EXACTLY how one should make a tutorial. Straight to the point and none of this whole "here's who I am and I'm a REALLY special person" crap before getting to the point. Unfortunately this didn't work for me though as I setup the agent successfully but I can't connect to the server using the public IP that was generated on the website - I just get "failed to connect".
Warning, this is only to be used with close friends, programs that use tunneling capabilities are very unsecure for your network and PC as it leaves a lot of vulnerabilities (much like hamachi did as it was also a tunneling program)
Broadband and cellular/mobile internet users may rejoice with the simplicity of this workaround. Sometimes we just don't have access to an ISP which allows for port forwarding.
I’ve been wanting to set up a Minecraft server and haven’t been able to because I can’t port forward due to cgnat. A static Ip would have cost me an extra £8 a month. This video saved me money. ❤
