But, anyway, to make this short this person said the only hope they have left is that their internet thing starts making money. @RockWILK Always brother. U have a lot of good to give to the world. It is not difficult to tell in your words. The journey just started, my friend, and I am here for it.🫡🤣👽
Titles are important! I'm Finally monetized on Christmas morning. It's a fantastic learning journey for me as i try to improve each video in my filming and storytelling. I have one vidro with over 90 thousand views. It got me monetized. I care way more about living my best life than making money but it is a sort of validation that says my work matters and I am impacting people. I just subbed you. 🤠🐴❤️
@@WildHare-fb7ry wow! What a great Christmas gift! Congratulations! I’m really struggling with how to navigate all of this because I’m a narrative filmmaker and a playwright, and I’m starting to realize that RUclips is kind of a game just to get people to your channel, almost to trick people. It’s like pure marketing. I’m trying to figure out how I can do this and continue to make it work in a way that it feels like it’s something of value to me. If I had a channel telling people how to fix cars, or a nutrition channel, or something like that, it would be easy, but I talk about a lot of things. And most of those things are society type things. Social issues. I’m not sure that works at RUclips like it does when I make a movie or perform a solo play. I’m still figuring out what I am here at RUclips, but at the least, it works for me as a personal documentation of my life, and that’s something of great value to me. I’m not sure that has any value for anybody else. :-) But at least the things I think about from day-to-day aren’t all about me. And so, we’ll see how this goes, but one thing I know for sure, I’m not chasing any algorithm. I will try my best to have great titles, decent thumbnails, I don’t mind playing that game because I have to do the same thing when I make a movie or do a play, and I look at that as a creative practice, but content-wise, I really have to figure this out. Anyway, thanks so much for coming through for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate that.
@RockWILK Yes creative people must be true to themselves. Please yourself first and if it pleases others too that's a bonus. You have wonderful gifts and skills. You're lifting the bar of youtube and striving for a higher standard of excellence and meaning. Carving out your own niche. Making a difference. Transform youtube in your own way. Keep going Trail Blazer! 🤠🐴❤️
Good strategy with the title. Yes it's true about using "monetized" in the title because it does get more views and they pay more RPM because it's about "money" but the BEST part about this video is you aced it because your message was not about money but about being kind and respectful to others. People forget this platform is called YOU tube for a reason. We all (well some of us) get to be or at least should be our unique selves. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the great message. Blessings✝💜
Thanks so much for this message. To be honest, I wasn’t really thinking of strategy, but that’s such a good point, and so I did it totally by accident. Lol but the rest of the stuff you’re talking about is what’s really important to me. What’s most important. I really appreciate the kind words, and the sentiment, building community as an artist is the very thing that I think can save the world. More than anything else, I feel like artists can bring us together. Thanks again, and have a beautiful Sunday.
I really appreciate that. At the end of the day, I hope I can contribute something to somebody somewhere. :-) And I enjoy making videos at the end of the day, it always feels like I’m just working on a film, so it’s not a chore for me to make these. Thanks again, I really do appreciate it.
Thank you for another excellent video. What I really love about your videos is that you clearly put q lot of thought and a lot of effort into producing your videos. Your commentary is always relevant and spot on. What I find most disturbing about online content these days is that so much of it is coming in the form of attack or brow beating. To be honest, I think it started to increase in 2016 when a "certain person" came onto the political scene and encouraged criticism over communication. Thanks to the ability to instantly transmit our thoughts over the internet, that hostility grew exponentially. Next month, this person will take on a job that gives him the most power of any other job on the planet. I'm not saying their name because I think it's rather obvious who I speak of. This increase in criticisms shows up on every type of video you can think of. Even on camera and gear reviews videos there seems to be a need to criticize the product, or the review or the reviewer themselves. This mind set seems to have taken over social discourse on every topic. I hope this trend dies down soon. And we return to good ole friendly, compassionate and respectful conversations. Thanks again for your powerful commentary. I loved the music in this video.
Thanks so much for this, I agree with all of it. I believe the internet set "attack mode" and "complain about everything and everyone" mode over the years, and it just gets worse and worse. I believe it's because there is so much less actual human interaction now in the real world because we can do everything online now. To me, that creates an unrealistic world of interaction and a loss of empathy. And so we have to do what we can with our work to point that out in some kind of creative way. At least that's how I approach my work. As I always say, take the difficult things and turn them into beautiful art, and hopefully it has some kind of tangible, positive impact. Hopefully. All we can really do is have the best of intentions and do the best work we can. Make the best art we can make. Anyway... thanks again so much for all the support, encouragement and good energy, it goes a long way for me. Have a beautiful day.
If this is work related, you can always contact me through my website. Otherwise, I appreciate you coming through here, I’m not really meeting up with people who I don’t know. :-) But I appreciate the offer. Hope you had a great transition into the new year, and have a beautiful day.
THIS ☝🏼all the people acting on the internet & RUclips is literally what stops me from creating. I’ve been thinking about sharing my thoughts & approach to my creative work (hair ) but am completely put off because of feeling that I’d have to “act” the way RUclips/the internet wants you to. Seeing you do you because thats you is inspiring me!! I’ve said it before but I’m really glad your channel got suggested to me.
@@Wavelengthluke thanks so much, that’s a great honor to me, and I am definitely on the “don’t act“ team. I think I mentioned in one of my videos that the worst thing for an actor to do is to get caught “acting” in a role. A lot of people don’t understand that, but if you don’t bring your authentic self, it’s just offputting to me. Authenticity is everything. In art, in life, being genuine is all of it. At least to me. Thanks so much for the kind words and the good energy, it’s good nutrition for me. Thanks so much!
@@RockWILK my thought is that most channels should do a youtube monetization video but in their own niche to attract the right people. That’s my plan anyway. I’m going to include “homesteader” in my title. We will see if that helps. 😁
I was thinking of doing that but I don’t want the wrong people coming to see it. And I don’t like doing popular trending topics because obviously they won’t come back 🤷🏽♀️
@ Maybe you can use it to talk specifically about your niche monetizing RUclips? It probably doesn’t work every niche but for me the idea is to get my content scene with a popular topic. Then hopefully by having the right title and speaking specifically to my niche the right people will find it. I think it’s worth the experiment. 😊
Ive been doing really well on the watch hours, almost 2500 and Ive been at it 4 months. But my Subs are struggling, only 220 as of now. Seeing your journey has given me motivation though, just shows consistent effort will pay off over time, even if it takes a while As for people leaving mean comments, Im sorry man, just try to let it roll off your shoulders. I get negative comments too and I just try and respond to their criticisms if anything was valid or just ignore if its just mean for no reason
@@BrentCox2B you’re doing well with the hardest part. The subscriptions will come, but those watch hours mean that you’re definitely on the right track, that people are staying and actually watching your videos. Congratulations for that. And as far as the bad comments, I’m used to it, I’ve been dealing with critics my whole career. :-) generally, my reviews are really good, but I conduct Q&A after every live performance, even when I’m just rehearsing in a street setting, and that brings a lot of truth, and sometimes you have to weed out the people that have nothing good to say at all. There’s constructive criticism, and then there are haters. I’m good at pulling out the haters. thanks for coming through, I greatly appreciate that.
Thanks so much! And I am definitely learning how to banish people from seeing my channel. :-) It’s obvious that some people just sit around in front of their computer to make ridiculous remarks to people. It’s pretty sad when you think about it.
Congrats on the recent success, Rock! Regarding comments, I take down those that seem motivated by negativity, motivated by hate. If it's just something a little unkind, but not caustic, I leave it. I don't always know what that person really meant. Someone suggested that I had a bad voice or a bad persona for making videos, I think they said I was like Lewis Black reviewing kids movies. I left it up because there was a chance they were just being funny and meant no harm, and I really do have some sensitivity about how I come across, and don't think I have much of a voice. But I'm trying to get better and in a weird way that person gave me some perspective. Then yesterday another person went out of their way to say how they liked my voice and I should do audiobooks. I can't see that either, but it was night and day. That person made me feel twice as confident because of the first person's comment, and because I left it up. When I step back I realize a weird thing is happening, that I'd nearly given up on happening, that there's a kind of community emerging. Slowly, very slowly, but it's there. And that's good. Cheers.
I love this comment, because it's a great example of what people go thru who are willing to share online. It's easy to hurt people here and not even realize it because tone is not a part of what we type. Unless you are a great writer, if you are just an average person who just comes online and posts comments, chances are you aren't thinking about how conversational or what the tone is of the dialogue you are leaving feels like and how it might destroy someone. You just never know. Obviously, you have a good sense of consideration that allows you to decide what to keep and what is just negative darkness that someone is dropping on your completely positive channel. I believe it's healthy to navigate in this way, and I'm glad you do. By the way, I saw a film a few days ago that you should watch. Have you seen Aftersun? A story of a young girl who goes on holiday with her father and it is an EPIC film. I thought about you immediately. So good in terms of filmmaking and even better with regards to story. Check it out. 2022 film, directed by Charlotte Wells. Beautiful. Anyway... thanks so much for the insight, it's so important, and community is the gift awaiting us if we are open to it and can avoid the obstacles along the way. Thanks again. Have a beautiful day.

That one video taking off, most likely because it was a story about how *maybe* youtube «did» something to your channel causing fewer views after you got monetized :) People are simple: you make a general video about monetization but no «drama», not many views in general - but make a video hinting at foul play/weird stuff happening related to monetization: *booom*. I’m not yet monetized, but closing in on 700 subs and a little over 2200 watchtime hours in the last 10 months, and I’ve had a couple of vids hitting above or close to 10k views, some around 5-6k views, and some around the 150 to 250 mark. *all* the ones that have taken off have had some kind of hinted *drama* to them, the dji mic 2 not supporting certain modes of recording, me doing youtube «wrong», etc etc. It almost never fails - so your experience checks out: people want drama, intrigue, things going wrong and all that, it sells :)
Thank you so much! Damn, we have such a bad reputation over here. I appreciate you coming through and taking the time to comment. Have a beautiful day!
30 minutes long video and the first 5 minutes is about a forgotten washed up actress rosie o'donnell aka the original "melissa mccarthy🤨 I forgot what I was going to say like the punchline 🤔 but anyways keep up the good work
😉 I was just using Rosie O’Donnell to make a point, but anyway, thanks so much for coming through here and for taking the time to actually comment, I really appreciate that. I hope you have a great day. Thanks again.
I'm sorry, I came here to get some insight about monetization, but you start out talking about Rosie O'Donnell. Huh? I managed to stick with you for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then a dark video about monetization for a minute or so. You lost me. I get it, everyone style is different, some like it or don't. Good luck, but I pass.
If you continued watching, you would’ve understood the metaphor about Rosie O’Donnell. By going away so quickly you kind of missed the whole point. I think in this culture that we are inside of right now, people want what they want right away, immediately. I’m a filmmaker, sometimes the build is the best part. The exposition. The development of a story. Sometimes it’s a slow burn and it takes a while, but I also understand that like I said, people want what they want, and that’s OK. And if this is not your cup of tea, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. If you went to the movies and saw a film like killers of the flower moon, for example, that movie is 3 1/2 hours long, and if you just watched the first five minutes, you would have absolutely no idea what you’re in for. But I understand, that’s the movies, and this is RUclips. Anyway, I hope you have a beautiful New Year’s, happy and healthy, and have an awesome day today. Thanks for coming through and for taking the time to comment, I appreciate that. And by the way, I’m pretty sure you made a good decision by leaving, because I don’t think you would like any of my content. :-) But thanks for trying. I dont care much for this monetisation but for the clients and students i get with more views and exposure
Yes it's true about using "monetized" in the title because it does get more views and they pay more RPM because it's about "money" but the BEST part about this video is you aced it because your message was not about money but about
being kind and respectful to others.
This is the second video of yours I've watched. I did like the music too. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you!!!
Awesome video 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💥💥💥💥

I‘ve noticed RUclips likes it when you talk about RUclips. 😁
@@homesteadingforbeginners narcissistic RUclips. ;)
@@RockWILK my thought is that most channels should do a youtube monetization video but in their own niche to attract the right people. That’s my plan anyway. I’m going to include “homesteader” in my title. We will see if that helps. 😁
@ hope it works!!!
Seeing your journey has given me motivation though, just shows consistent effort will pay off over time, even if it takes a while
As for people leaving mean comments, Im sorry man, just try to let it roll off your shoulders.
Was this one shot on your Sirui anamorphic?
No. I just used a scope aspect ratio so it has an anamorphic look. I just used a vintage lens. 50mm Minolta Rokkor.
Good video, just block the trolls I get that too as a creator, you have 10,000 congrats

The end music is annoying but then again I'm sensitive to loud high pitch sounds but as background music, perfect.

Sounds like you’re gonna be monetized very soon. Congratulations!
Kind creepy haha cool
Very refeshing to hear an american think of profound connection like that.
Some people like John Coltrane, some people like Metallica. That’s what’s beautiful about the world. Stay well.

Thanks man. Not anamorphic. I shot this with my Minolta 28mm and my Minolta 50mm, both vintage lenses. Yes, I cut my head off on purpose, I like that way that looks for the look I was going for, especially in scope. I set my aspect ration to 2.39:1 in Davinci Resolve. I never crop, better to get the setting correct in your software. F*c# the critics, unless it's constructive, ignore them and keep it ascending.
