I always run my tongue back and tie into the front 3 cross braces or to the cross brace above the axle. All my yard trailer tongues are either 36 or 48”, makes it not so jack knife happy with a longer tongue

You could of ran bigger tires and still be level by making the hitch drop down to the height you want it to be. The older I get the shorter my arms are getting so the higher the trailer the easier it is to reach.😁👍
