- People from Myanmar queued at a border crossing to flee to Thailand on Friday, a day after the strategically vital town of Myawaddy fell to the anti-junta resistance, which has been growing in strength.

The number of people crossing over from Myawaddy to Thailand’s adjoining Mae Sot doubled earlier this week to about 4,000 a day, as fighting in Myanmar intensified. At the one fully operational border crossing at Mae Sot, in the west of Thailand, many of those fleeing Myanmar said they left their homes fearing for their safety after hearing the sound of aerial bombing

Thailand has been the guardian angel of Burmese, Laotian, and Cambodian immigrants for 40-50 years, but we have received nothing in return.
You receive their labour in return.
You has been hosting U.S Imperialist and their military that has been causing troubles in Indochina nations such as Burma, Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam, for 50 years.. Just saying.
@@somaelselino7627i dont think thailand or southeast asia in general is in labour shortage.

A new Myanmar will arise from the ashes. It will be nothing like what it was.
I don't think a unified Myanmar will be possible after this conflict regardless of who win in the end. We will be seeing something entirely different.
@@rattapoomkotchapong1674You are right. There are many armed rebel forces with various interests. Even if their main enemy, the military, were defeated, it's unlikely they would simply abandon their weapons, return home, and work in rice fields.😂 I guess not. The leaders of these armed forces once possess wealth and power, making it unlikely that they would easily relinquish their positions of influence.I am afraid when the military regime over, the country will be split into various country like Yugoslavia.

In my humble opinion, the innocent civilians fleeing the civil war in Myanmar should be able to relocate over to the vast ginormous bountiful resourceful Australia and New Zealand in the Asia-Pacific region.
Moreover, the vast majority of the population in those countries, tens of millions of Christian Europeans from all over Europe brought in over to the Asia-Pacific region.
In fact, around 90% of Australia and New Zealand are completely empty today.

I hope it will be ended in the near future. The violence in Myanmar happens for ages, many people has died, things are severely damaged, but no report. Young people are growing up in a war-torn country. Bless you Myanmar people.!

In Thailand we have Myanmar people. Now let's take Myanmar land. With 10 millions people now outnumbered military.
They are smart for leaving
And no one is protesting against this...
Thank you for covering this. We really should hear about the unrest in Myanmar. Also Thailand getting all the refugees is a burden
Military government should just give up
not a gvt
a junta
To whom? Warlords? Today's rebels are tomorrow's dictators.
It's like Cambodia in the 70s all over.
Definitely pretty worried for Myanmar the longer the war goes. It's not necessarily the instant destruction which wrecks countries but 3+ years of warfare does. Look what happened to Germany and Russia in 1918.
Thailand can't assume large amounts of refugees from Myanmar, but being a major investor with a large border could coordinate peace talks, possibly with China..
It should be UN's responsibility not Thailand or any country.

Few months before Millitary Junta soldiers fled to India after a heavy fighting. Looks like the rebels are gaining ground faster than expected, even when Russia and China is providing the junta with fighter jets and heavy weaponry.
The next horror 🤯
What a cruel irony! The burmese ruthlessly ransacked and destroyed the Glorious capital of the thai kingdom of old and now queue at the ends of its nation for an aspiration filled attempt to escape the horrors of their own nation, inflicted by their own kind
I wouldn't call it irony when your neighbor is about to implode. Thailand will be receiving millions of refugees if the Myanmar regime no longer can hold the country together.
Way to go man, bringing back ancient history. But the people fleeing through myawaddy aren't Burmese though, they are Karen.
