Good day! I have a M-138 Army Corps Of Engineers Superior Magneto Corp. WWII Compass which has gotten foggy/discolored on the inside glass but other than that is in great shape and functional. Can you provide guidance on how I can clean this up or perhaps where I could get assistance with it? I live in the US FYI. Thanks in advance

How did you get the card out of the compass? I have a 1917 model and I need to clean the jewel, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to loosen the rotation bezel lock screw then gently pry off the brass bezel ring which houses the glass, that allows you to access the internals where the card and jewel is housed

@@indianajones7470 thank you for the information. I did manage to get it off eventually and then ran it through a rock tumbler to polish all of the brass, it came out incredible.

What did they do about the radium? Was it dangerous?

this is incredibly irresponsible...poor Barry is looking for 100-yr of wear and being zapped with 15,000 years of radium, I just hope he hasn't inhaled any of it. That radium coated needle on the dial fully is open to the elements OMG
