- Everyone's favourite series of techwear retailers to avoid continues. This week we're looking at Techwear Club, who unfortunately sold the worst techwear clothing we've looked at on this channel so far with an overall less-than-great retail experience. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
There are lots of retailers who fall into a similar category of cheap, extremely low-quality drop-shipped clothing. This wasn't meant to be a take-down of Techwear Club specifically, they're just part of a group of 'techwear retailers' who will likely give you a similar experience to mine in this video.

I lost it laughing at the Supreme x Off White x Converse FASHION shoe. Watching Antwon roast these off brand wanna-be techwear companies is hilarious and should be a regular series alongside the affordable techwear series.
Supreme and the people who wear it are cringe enough as it is.

Reminds me of when Bethesda did the pre order bonus or what ever it was with Fallout 76 and they showed a picture of a sturdy canvas bag that it would come with, but instead they shipped out cheap ass nylon bags.

@@shadowsnake5133 Yes and Bethesda eventually sent out the ones promised made of canvass, replacing the nylon ones that customers had already received. Still, it shouldn't take a lawsuit, Bethesda has been quite garbage for a while now, they no longer put any real effort in their games and couldn't care less about their consumers, only about their money.
And the power armour helmets were toxic as well

I watched out of curiosity and was genuinely astounded at the level of false advertising on the websites part. How do they get away with that: I thought we had laws to stop exactly that thing. Crazy.

It's a shame because a lot of these companies sell some very unique styles for people looking to add some personality to their wardrobe. They would make more money if they sold the actual product than cheaping out on the material/production.

spent about $100 at techwear club about a month ago and had an even worse experience, everything came 2 sized too short, some shirts were actually ripped in certain sections, some pieces had holes, and one shirt arrived covered in dirt..? horrible experience but one good thing i could say that i got from the experience is i learned about this channel and learned alot more on where to go and what to look at for techwear clothing.

Bought some items from Tech Ware for my daughter for Christmas and I should have watched this 1st! Trying to return them now…. she'll want more so I'm glad I know better now!
One thing I have noticed with a lot of knock-off techwear clothing, mainly in pants is that they used “hype” shoes like yeezy or Jordans for some reason. And they have the “Teachwear” overuse in the name, but I can’t lie I fell into their trap when I first was introduced.🤦♂️

My mate brought some cargos on black tailor and they haven’t come after months
Was almost tempted to buy from them but after doing some research, seems like pretty much the same drop shipped stuff as techwear club. Plus they only give refunds in store credit which is an immediate red flag.
There stuff isn’t that bad, but the quality is def subpar
Finally someone did some reviewing, I love this style but as a plus size guy I get caught out so many times trying to find even just the subtle pairs of cargo pants

After 2 weeks of "Sorry we haven't shipped yet" "oh this one item isn't available anymore" and a bunch of other excuses I just requested (and got) a full refund.
Now that I see this, I'm happy I did.

A lot of the techwear websites seem soooo sketch. Literally selling stuff you can find on wish. I try not to trust a clothing website unless it’s display photos are consistent.

I have zero experience with fashion. Zero. I was looking for some cool looking cargo pants and noticed that something is off. Later I came across your channel, and as you said - dodged a bullet. So thank you man, saved me from guaranteed disappointment.
i bought that "iconic" techwear pants back in 2019, and actually they are fine af. they look almost exactly like on the photos and are even pretty comfortable. but they are a little shorter than normal pants, like something in between of pants and shorts. the only "dropshipping" techwear item i bought that was actually good haha.

I love videos like this, I sometimes get tempted by the pretty looking clothes in instagram ads, so it's great to get a reality check as to how much of a waste of time and/or money it would be :)

They are and on insta, the influencers have a lot on their side. Lighting. Good set. And clothing that the manufacturer sent them to push, so they’re the best stuff that company can possibly turn out. That’s not what you’ll be getting.
I lived in China briefly and I noticed that lots of people were really adventurous when it came to fashion. Like lots of interesting shapes and lines and patterns. But everything looked really cheap. And it really did say something about how they didn’t have a lot of money, but made up with being innovative.
Now when I see all these suckers running around in their Shein or Boohoo or Pretty Little Things or whatever, I’m reminded of that. Just nowhere near as innovative. They all look poor. For those who genuinely are. Ok, I’m glad you have affordable options. But for the most part this look is so is ironic because they’re probably racing to buy as much as they can to show off how many $3 tops they can “afford” to haul.

When I buy something, I expect it to be the same as the picture. If it's not identical, it's getting returned. If they won't accept a return then they're getting sued for false advertisement.
These people get away with this because more people don't actually take action and just chalk it up to their own fault for trusting the company.

Something told me a long time ago when online purchasing was getting off the ground, that not being ripped off would be a luck of the draw.
Which is a damn shame because there are heaps of great sellers who just want to be a reliable retailer.

It's always hit and miss with these drop shippers, sometimes even with the same seller. I once ordered two shirts from somewhere. One is great and still part of my wardrobe, the other literally disintegrated like tissue paper when I put it in to wash before wearing. I think that was about the point I started to move away from fast fashion altogether!

I have first hand experience from Techwear Club, It's definitely a rip, Their shoes are fake but it still fits well enough. Took nearly an entire month arrive and was disappointed. Would not buy again. Thanks for the vid antwon

I once checked out this kinda stuff cus it kept appearing on my Instagram as ads, so of course, I had just been paid and thought "This'll be a good experiment." 9 out of the 10 things I bought were terrible and have since been given away but one pair of cargo trackies have actually fully withstood working at a sawmill and I genuinely like them. Props to *I'll leave this blank* for that

When you described the quality of the 2nd pair of pants all thats coming to mind is "sweatshop quality"
Thanks for this video. I've already bought from them (twice). First time didn't have any problems, second time disappointed a lot. The waterproof jacket wasn't waterproof for example. So yeah. Gonna subscribe to learn a bit more to make better decisions in the future ^^

I just love the idea of not even putting in the effort to speak english before starting production... I think bad products with flaws that don't even cost anything to correct are a hilarious example of incompetence and negligent greed, one of my favorite examples was a desk fan that would walk away whenever I put it on rotate mode, because of how top-heavy and poorly grounded it was. I almost feel a sort of urge to collect these things, compared to other collections it's a pretty cheap hobby too.

Look for brands who are in your country and gave them your money and not china.
I’ve got two jackets that suit 4 seasons. A slim Patagonia puffer ($250 ish) and an Arc’teryx gore tex shell ($300 ish) that sounds expensive but I’ve had both for about five years and they’re as good as they were when I got them. Shell can be worn year round as a rain jacket. Patagonia suits to a fairly chilly temp. But since she shell is also windproof, all I have to do is wear it over the puffer and it suits down to about -20C or lower (and no, as most of the world, I don’t do imperial. If you don’t do metric, google a converter. Basically it’s pretty fucking cold)
I also spent $100 on my mittens about five years ago. They’re also gore tex and are incredibly warm and windproof, waterproof, come with liners for warmer weather, and boom. Don’t need 500 pair of sub standard gloves.
This is how you shop. I’d never go back to cheap fast fashion. It costs so much more over time.
Oh and these filthy Amazon crooks have now infiltrated Etsy too. And are charging Etsy prices for the same shit that some criminal sewing house is selling for $10 on Amazon, so make sure to cross reference.

I am so glad I did not purchase anything from these websites back when I gotten into "techwear" in 2018. Since then, I gotten into avant- gardé/functional fashion. If you really want to buy these kinds of clothes go ahead. But it's not worth it. Save up and aim for the name brands.

I bought a pair of cargo joggers off etsy when I first got into techwear. I thought they were going to be made with care & look cool too, as a lot of festival clothes are. Unfortunately they were low quality and the seller was apparently also a dropshipper.
Etsy has a ton of dropshippers on their site now, which is super shitty because the point of Etsy is to support small and passionate businesses...

I also ordered 3 things from the TechWear Club (sweater, belt, finger gloves) the sweater wasn’t really as good as I expected. But there was nothing wrong with the belt and finger gloves, they were even good. I don’t think it’s worth buying clothes from them (this video also proves) but accessories maybe.
This is why other than maybe hats I buy all of my clothing in person.
No matter how cool you think you look. “Tech” clothing is just clown clothes with extra steps

What I hate most about this is 1) that it has created a whole industry centered around convincing people dropshipping is a legitimate business model that they should pursue to make a quick buck and 2) the immense amount of waste created by these business practices. Like, fast fashion is comparatively benign, at least with fast fashion the clothes are still usable and will often go to charity shops. But clothes like these just have no value, there is no demand for them except the demand that is artificially created. I'd prefer straightforward scams where no product is delivered at all so at least the environment isn't harmed in the process

You can buy all of this shit from wish and aliexpress etc, these retailers basically buy from there when you place your order. You'll always pay like £40-£60 more when they sell it to you.

Some retailers like this go a bit further and change the tags to their own too, so don't get too excited if you see a custom one, it's probably still from alibaba
