I am a Lara Fabian Fan and I truly believe she is the Ultimate Artist ...................her voice is powerful and yet warm and soothing, her technical prowess is far and away superior to any other I'vwe ever heard, her compositions are above just being a composer - they are both Poetic and respectful to an audience, and last but not least...............this beautiful woman ( both inside and out ) is 53 years old and still looks and performs like this ! ! !. For me anyway, she is in a select but few group of 50 + artists that belie their age.............Lara Fabian, Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron are names that come to mind. Thanks for this post and stay safe and stay healthy.

I had never in my life heard an artist that drove me to listen for hours and not care if I understand the language, because I UNDERSTOOD the language she was singing. It's an incredible gift she has. She's also an extraordinary songwriter, and that is a big part of her appeal to me. Her melodies are complex and intriguing and are like siren songs to me. And to still be writing songs with such unique melodies after all this time is even more extraordinary. In her song Adagio she begs the god of inspiration to never abandon her, to believe in her, that she'll always be waiting at "the piano that plays". We all know now that "he" never has abandoned her. How lucky for us. It's lovely to see a reaction to a brand new song. ❤

Thank you for that! She is still stunning at 54. She hasn't lost it vocally.
Here is the meaning of the song for me, my assumption based on what I know about Lara recent events and based also on this video.
This is her first song of an upcoming album dedicated to the HEALING theme.
This one is titled "Ta Peine" which means Your Sorrow.
The song is telling someone who is sad and depressed to offload his sorrow on his partners and relatives. Doing this, they can find together the path to a better mental place.
I believe the song is about Gabriel, Lara’s husband. This is the man you see in this video.
I believe he was the one suffering from it.
The song was recorded in Sicilia where he comes from, where Lara’s mother family is originated from, and where they have been living now.
Gabriel gave priority during years to Lara and moved to Quebec for her, even stopping to perform as a magician (there is a reference to her magician in the songs lyrics, which really points to him).
But after years there, he apparently got homesick and depressed. So Lara refocused on him, they sold last year their home in Montreal and moved to their secondary home in Sicilia.
The serenity in the video finale makes me believe they have found this better mental place together. The sunny weather is resonating with this happiness.
Lara told in recent interviews that Gabriel is also about to resume his magician activites and working on a European tour.
Last note to say this song, and Lara’s upcoming album, has been co-written and co-composed by Lara and Slimane.
Slimane is massive in france, he won the Voice France 2016 and all his albums have been #1 in french charts since then. He will be the french contestant this year at Eurovision. He is an emotional powerhouse with a spectacular voice. I recommend you to discover him.
Eric, thanks for your perspective and interpretation, sounds spot on! I've never enjoyed songs sung in a language other than English; since discovering Lara a year ago I've listened to her every day along with Morissette Amon, Angelina Jordan and Gigi De Lana. To think when I heard Broken Vow sung by Josh Groban in early 2001 on his CD, I had no idea that Lara wrote the lyrics until last year and when I heard Lara's performance in her concert From Lara with Love on YT - I was sold on Lara hook-line-and-sinker! I've heard many female vocalist over my 70+ years and Lara is undoubtedly at the top next to Barbra, Karen Carpenter and so many more...

Thank you Angie for reacting to this wonderful new song from Lara. I'm just frustrated that it's so short, but it's a prelude to a new album that's coming up by the end of the year. The lyrics are superb and express well what Lara has always been. She's like you, she feels a lot of empathy for others. During her first interviews to promote her song, each time the journalists had tears in their eyes and she apologized for that... she has the ability to convey her emotions and sometimes without wanting to. She is a simple artist, beyond her talent, that's why we love her...
