i wish i could take a nap for 30 minutes, but every time i try to do it, i wake up 4 hours later...
you can set an alarm
Unless your like me. Set alarm for 20 min then after 50 min "wha?" (Just woke up) only light can wake me up.
Attach alarm clock to lights
that's what I did when I was ill because I needed naps them
Don’t feel bad I wake up like 6 hours later
They need to allow power naps in highschool it's would be so amazing and way better and more wanted than the kindergarteners
They did it in china
+Risky Rantung I'm moving to China now.
Dont worry in college youll be free to take all the power naps you want and youll abuse that power and then youll truly get the college experience haha
We were force to take naps throughout school years in China. I wish my boss would enforce that on me nowadays.
...with sexually active band geeks? I don't think that's a good idea
Me- science said so..
Boss- get the fuckout
|:o
Problem is, it's hard to control how long I actually fall asleep. It takes a while to fall asleep. An alarm clock set to ring 40 minutes might actually mean I fell asleep after 20 minutes and only got 20 minutes of sleep. And how fast it takes to sleep for me varies a lot.
yeah. that's my problem too.
power naps work best when you do regularly. try it once a day or two for a week or two and then your body will know it only has ''that amount of time'' to sleep and will then fall asleep faster and get faster to the REM state. Ive been told by many people that its possible to reach REM in 20min naps if you train for it
And 20 minutes is still a good nap, like they said in the video. You don't want to go over 30 minutes.
I don't know about you, but I don't try or intend to go unconscious during naps.
I have the same issue, and the way I do it is to just set a 25 min timer anyway. If I fall asleep fast, good. If I couldn't, then closing my eyes and relaxing is good enough. As a bonus, you tend to sleep easier if you're not worried about falling asleep.
My boss said let science pay you
I just told my boss that science said so and I got fired.
Because they think it's just a excuse for sleeping on the job.
hahahaha u make laugh oh dear
pics or didn't happend.
Makes me wonder why they make 3 year olds nap, but now that we actually want and need them, we aren't allowed to have one at school or work. REPLACE STUDY HALL WITH NAP TIME!!!
I don't understand how some people can just choose to take a nap or go to bed. It doesn't work that way for me. And when I am tired enough to take a nap, I can never get up when I wanted to and sometimes end up sleeping all afternoon, then I'm up all night. Fucking sleep!
Same!
Dude! Same here
As a university student who naps almost every day, I can say this:
I've never napped if I'm not feeling tired. I'll continue to study if I'm a 5, but I probably couldn't fall asleep if I'm a 4. I'll usually just try study on until I'm like a 3 and then I'll sleep at the table, which is usually 10~15 minutes. If I sleep in my bed I'll sleep for hours, and that's what you don't want.
Power naps have been working for me 😁
I've basic two times and they were all around 6pm or 7pm. What do you suggest should be optimal time of the day to take nap?
When your vision starts to blur while studying
But the problem is that I never know how much time it's going to take me to fall asleep. Sometimes I put my alarm on 20 minutes, but it takes me 15 minutes to fall asleep and when it goes off I'm twice as groggy as I was before.
+Myriam EH I used to be of the same opinion, and you know what? It's not paramount that you fall asleep at all! I'm on holiday right now and I'm taking power naps everyday: I set my alarm to go off in 20 minutes and just lie on my sofa and relax myself: most of the time I don't "fall asleep", but I wake up totally refreshed and relaxed nonetheless!
If science is your god as they've mindwashed the masses. Their god will encourage creating that pill for you too.
Just a matter of time.
Blessings2u regardless of our differences.
Kaian77 Myriam and in context you. Is that cool?
Kaian77 What I was saying was a bit deeper than I have time for but in general I was just saying science will probably have a pill to help those who struggle napping for better labor results out of us soon enough.
That's another problem for science to solve. Then I would start talking about the Beast system in Revelations and a big thing about lucifarian elite and it'd all tie back into the reality of our lives right now and Jesus Christ / yashua / Yahushua our redeemer and savior and our creator God or the only truly LIVING WORD on the planet will be the connecting factor to it all.
But hey. Ain't nobody care about that!
AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FO DAT! :-)
I'M BECOMING A GLUTTON FOR THE HATE. OUT OF COMPLETE LOVE FOR MY FELLOW PEOPLE OF THIS PLANET. - But hey Blessings2u regardless of our differences.
really i dont think it matters. just relax and even when you dont sleep youll feel better
Those 127 people who thumbs down are probably bosses
double entendre
The thing is if it makes their workers more productive for the whole time making them more money so why would you hate something that can help you
Jeffery Sauter its a paradox

-WHY THE FUCK YOU SLEEPING?
-Sciense said so.
-THE FUCK NIGGA YOU FIRED

This video singlehandedly changed my life when I first saw it a few years back. I come back to it now to give it it's proper accolades. I keep my power naps between 10 and 30 minutes using my phone's timer, usually ballparked around 20-25 minutes, and it just helps! It's so simple and brilliant. I love it.
Thanks for making this easy to understand, informative video. And of course, special thanks as well for providing legitimate sources. I love science.
If I say 'science said so' to my teachers, I'll later get a whopping from my mom later.
Oh my gosh bro....that is super true man....
They may know the obvious. That science is being used to seperate the people from they're loved ones and love from within the people. So as to make it easier to succeed at enslaving the world population.
Eugenics agenda is real and God is real.
The agenda to control our (the peoples) minds is very real and happening as we think and text right now.
And they record every interaction we have and every search we do and every vid we pursue ect.. to one day use against and help enslave us after all the distractions that come with. This is open exposed truth.
We are being dumbed down into minion. And the minion are made fun of by the elite and they program you to make fun of God for them as they serve a Lucifarianism faith.
The destruction of the family agenda is way real and started legally in 1973 with Row vs Wade being capitalized on for the agenda. Later the woman tried to sue the government for using her trial to push their world stage antichrist agenda. Their agenda is in the words of Freemasons

Now i need a tutorial on how to fall asleep fast. If i want to take a 20 min nap, but i have only 40 min, i fail cause i simply can't fall asleep in less than 20 min if i'm just a little tired
My problem is getting to sleep in the first place.
THANK YOU
lunavixen015 Just don't think about it. Just close your eyes and...be alone with your thouhts...maybe thats a bad idea
@James Cronin is that together or spread out in sessions? The time.
@James Cronin oh yeah i get that im just trying to figure out how long my naps should be. I just had a baby so 8 hours are out the window does 1.5 mean about a hour and a half? Im just trying to figure how long I need to stay energized.
Breathe in seven counts hold seven counts exhale seven counts wait seven counts inhale seven counts hold seven counts........so on
thats why i feel better after my history class
no N !.‘ann don’t really t
🤣🤣🤣
😂
Tells boss "science says so." Gets fired...
hahahaha yea that's probably what would happen lol
Anyone here felling satisfied watching this after a 15 minutes nap 😴💆♀️💆♀️💆♀️
Then why not to nap at school?
I wish!
My school back in my country, use to take naps for 30min. After lunch.... And we actually got rewarded afterward, crazy, right?????
Lucky you! The only time I got to nap at school was in kinder. Where all we got to do was color.
Sophia Goff That's really cool! Here they dont let us nap. Unless you are in the very back croner of the classroom where you cant be easily spotted.
XgamerGR ) Lol, now in USA, couple of times in math class, I was setting in the front row, the class got soooo boring I nearly fell asleep, thank goodness I didn't....but it's not like I didn't like math, I just got bored...
My newest Granddaughter has taught me this. I call them "Rory" naps. ;) I found that I was napping while she did and I felt more energized when I woke. But, going longer than an hour and it seemed to be much harder to wake. This reminded me of when I was a Firefighter and we had "sleeper duty". If I had been asleep for more than an hour and less than three when the alarm went off, I might not totally wake up until we got to the scene. I woke up once standing on the back of the truck next to a fellow firefighter that had actually tied me to the hand rail! :D
Whenever I wake up from a nap, I always feel sad and question the meaning of reality
GD -EXO- I do too. And I hate it.
I try to short nap before the grandkids come over. It works, I feel more relaxed.
me:sleeping
stupid chemistry teacher: why you sleeping
me: science said so
stupid chemistry teacher: would like to explain to the class
me:(typing in video showing to class)
stupid chemistry teacher: you wont learn form that children
me: well lets ask them shall we?
stupid chemistry teacher;you sir have detention
me;ass
(during detention)
stupid chemistry teacher:(snoring)
ME; writing on sticky note saying science said so and leaving
next morning everyone is laughing at teacher
and i get suspended for common sense
Boss: What the hell are you doing?
You: Im sleeping on the job, boss.
Boss: What in gods name led you to do this?
You: Science said so.
Boss: You're fired, dumbass!
Yeah, this would totally work.
... ...
You: Why?
Boss: Science said so.
its true, once in a while where i would take a small nap.. I'd feel really great after waking up!
I cant take naps its too risky
when will i wake up? in an hour ? in two days? no one knows...
Could you do a video going more into detail about sleep? The significance of all 4 stages, effects of external stimuli on dreams, ideal length of a full night's sleep, etc. ?
When I get to nap, I think I usually nap for 30+ mins. When I wake up, I do feel really tired, but after some time I actually feel better than before.
sleep in general: sleeping cells, sleepwalking, what you do, why you sleep, dreams
ASAP Science, I have a question about your video. In this video, you explain how Napping will leave you feeling more energized. However, in your other video, about the snooze button, You ARE waking up, and then going back to sleep for about 10 minutes. However, in this video you are saying that is Beneficial. While in the video you were talking about the snooze button is, You explained how it wasn't. Is there a reason for this? like a nap after the first hour of waking up isn't beneficial?
I just wondered the exact same thing. Could it be that after waking up from a deep sleep, snoozing, and falling asleep again, the brain sends out additional neurotransmitters (on top of the sleepy brain we already woke up with), that make you feel extra groggy when you wake up? Just an idea, no scientific facts behind it...
I have this problem where I just can't nap. And if I try to set an alarm for 30 mins I stay up for more than 30 mins and I go through this phase of trying to sleep and setting an alarm.
my friend from philipinnes says that at school they were allowed to sleep in class
that sounds amazing!!!!!! less time to work, more time to nap!!!!:D
I'm from the Philippines. Can confirm except for my school. :/
***** lol that is really sad. i dont live in the philippines :( if they think your not listening then they will ask you what they just said. they got really mad at me the last time because i didn't say anything
School system in the Philippines is vaguely similar to American schools. You'd be fine unless you went to my old school. Living in Australia now. Big transition.
***** ah cool!! :D
this is perfect cuz slept in english today... my friend appearantly poked me in the side to wake me up...didn't feel a thing-musta been stage 2.but when My teacher taped me on the shoulder i got up immediately...but spent the rest of class half-sleeping.afterwards i was much more energized.
Why teenagers, especially from 14 to 17 years old, are so tired all the time!? Personally, I sleep 7 hours at night and like 3 hours in the afternoon, on weekdays.. Please explain! I'm always tired!
This channel has most definitely made me more knowledgeable about topics I haven't been urged to think about, in other words, thank you.
Question: People always seem to have different ideas on what they find attractive, but what is the base line for 'What we find attractive'?
Good symmetrical face proportions, sometimes someone who looks similar to you and what country you're from
Totally relevant
It typically takes a person 10-15 minutes to fall asleep. You could test yourself by setting an alarm for 45 minutes and continually increase the minutes as needed.
I have two alarms. One at 6 which is when I wake up and one that I set to usually between 1:30 and 3:00 am just so I can wake up and be like "YES I STILL HAVE A FEW MORE HOURS OF SLEEP" and then fall asleep again (I keep changing the time so my body won't get used to the time and I can still fall asleep after I wake up) Is that bad for me /will it affect my sleep at all? will it reset my sleep cycle?
+MegaMrFroggy I heard somewhere that your body and brain gets confused and exhausted if you do that. You probably feel like a trainwreck when you wake up, right?
+MegaMrFroggy sorry to say, but that's the stupidest. People actually benefit most when they are in a deep sleep between 00:00 and 03:00. especially between 1 and 3 am.
Pineal gland proper working depends on the amount of light and sleep. Being in a deep sleep makes you less aware of the stimuli from the outside, also from the sources of the light. Thanks to a deep sleep and kind of insensibility to the light, the pineal gland produces melatonin, a hormone that is important to the quality of the sleep (and therefore - rest) and to the proper rhytm of some physiological functions.
If you make yourself awaken in THIS PARTICULAR TIME, you do not provide yourself with the proper amount of melatonin. You can have some endocrine problems.
Waking up, especially with the help of an alarm, is unhealthy in itself, as it's like waking up because of some shock, nervous stimulus, which the sound and vibrations of the alarm definitely is.
Enhancing THIS effect with double-waking up and depriving yourself from melatonin production is totally unhealthy.
I love power naps. I never nap for longer than about 20 minutes unless I'm sick so they tend to work well for me.
i love the videos of this channel but you speak tooo freaking fast.., and i a smart person..., :/ well maybe i need a nap to rest my brain.., maybe that's all...
So ... you are telling me if i nap during an arts lesson , ill be more able during the other lessons ? AWESOME!
Muhammad saw had said things like these hundred of years even before modern science was born
Was he saying them as he was flying to heaven on his horse?
Stun Gun Stunna How does your question hold any value ?
steve365 What?
steve365 What the hell you talking about bro?
Ikey it’s true her name was Aisha she was 9 or 10, Muhammad was 53 at the time
My desire to live in japan is becoming more passionate.
I learn so much from these vids.
if i told my boss that i would be fired and deemed a laughing stock
This is why I wish high schools had a 30 minute nap time after lunch. I wouldn't mind a longer day if I had a nap.
There are actually 5 stages of sleep. REM is stage 5.
The model was reviewed and stages 3 and 4 where combined into just stage 3.
In Japan if you fall asleep at your job, it's a simple meaning that you are working hard. And some people pretend to sleep on the job to look committed.
When I first started napping I found myself sleeping for around 2 - 3 hours which of course is far 2 much. However the key to doing it right is to get your full 7 hours. Once you've established a good solid night sleep routine your day nap will just fall into place. I take a day nap every day and usually wake up between 20 minutes and half an hour of sleeping. This is the best I've ever felt in my life. No wonder most animals take naps.
I was cramping real bad today so after my drivers ed i came home from school before my first class of the day. I thought i would not make it home and just pass out somewhere. I got home, i tried to make myself comfy in bed cause i wanted to avoid taking naproxen, ibuprofin or any strong stuff. I took some magnesium in the morning. I managed to find a good position fell asleep. Woke up like 2-3 hours later. My bed is below my window so i got a little sweaty from the heat but i've never been that relaxed or have taken a nap at all in years. Im not even joking, years!
Dear ASAP Science, what causes someone to be lazy?
Usually lack of self discipline and schedule. (except for anxiety or depression, which are issues on their own to be dealt with)
You must be aware you're doing everything you do for yourself.
Set a goal, set realistic milestones, and try not to be too hard on yourself if you're not good at it or extra productive at first or at random times, just keep practicing.
Seeing as I can never fall asleep when I want to, I can't nap without getting too much sleep or enough and feel worse than before.
I swear if I get fired lol
Teacher: why are you sleeping in class? Me: SCIENCE! Teacher: Whaa...?
And this is why I'm happy I fall asleep during review at school.
I just took a nap before this video! I LOVE NAPS!!!
When I go to school I'll sleep in the Midler of class during science and when my teacher asks why I'll say, 'You're the science teacher, you should know why.'
why am i just now finding this channel
I once fell asleep in class after a sleepless night. Best ten minutes of my life... but seriously, who makes a bunch of exhausted students read?!?
So it's good to nap...
YAY I DON'T GET IN TROUBLE FOR FALLING ASLEEP IN CLASS NOW!
That has happened to me a good number of times... The weirdest is one time i fell asleep on the couch and i woke up and started crying.
Tips to fall asleep fast :
1, Get rid of your thoughts, all of them : Imagine clouds and label them each as one of your thought, if they are too many you will have a tough time trying to fall asleep. Swipe them away one by one until your mind is pure white and calm, also pay attention on the upcoming new thoughts and gently swipe them away one by one as they come.
2, Try to nap/sleep at the same time everyday : When you nap/sleep at the same time everyday, your body will get used with your routine and will know when is time to do it, making it much more easier.
The science of emotions and what makes them
Showed my boss this video. Now I can sleep any time.
Under conditioning of polyphasic sleep at 20 minutes per nap every 6 hours (Uberman Cycle), you can actually achieve REM very quickly. Otherwise, a 90 minute nap generally helps you feel most alert because you went through the deep sleep (ph 2) phase.
Before sleeping, tell your pillow in lovely way to wake up you in 30 minutes or in 90 minutes, and see the result.
Why do we sometimes experience a falling sensation in our dreams and suddenly wake up?
This didn't go over so well in my Economics class.
In japan sleeping on the job is respected. People think it is because you have worked very hard and are exhausted.
when ever I have a nap I wake up feeling worse than I did before
I don't know how to time my naps though, because it takes me a really long time to actually fall asleep...
"Science said so".lol I'm gonna use that
Absolutely right. But EEG tracing doesn't worry about the order of events, it worries about neuroelectric wave size and frequency. Since REM sleep creates a tracing that is closer to that of a waking brain (than any of the other sleep patterns) the other naming conventions place it either in stage one sleep or a stage of it's own. The hypnogram on the wikipedia page (wish i could link...) shows this quite effectively.
Side note: This is why naming the convention you're using is super important
yeah I've tried that, either I can't hear it or I just ignore it because I'm such a deep sleeper
I always get woken up just before the best part in the dream is gonna happen, which really sucks
This question is for AsapSCIENCE
Can you do a video on why people (me) daydream so often??
Actually I agree with that.. usually when I come home after school or something my friend always wants me to talk to him on AIM, but I'm tired.. if I rest for a few minutes and then he calls me or something, I can stay awake for like, the rest of the night and am awake.
Here is something thats been itching my brain: Why are Dreams so short?
Can you do one exploring alternate sleep cycles? Like a polyphasic sleep cycle?
Why do we feel like falling dead asleep in a class when not even 5 minutes before we were wide awake?
this makes so much sense!! After I doze off for a short nap, I feel great after I wake up, not really groggy at all. On the other hand, if I take a longer 1, I wake up feeling really tired.
What an epic reference...
That why Uberman sleep cycle is very effective. You slept 30 minutes every 4 hours and feel as if you have slept for hours.
When I take a nap for about two to four hours, I wake up with a high heart rate for some reason. Last time I had taken a nap, I immediately checked my heart rate and it was at 118 bpm. That scared the crap out of me. What is going on in my head when I take a nap?!
Can we get a video on scientific tips on going to sleep/napping? Just like the one you did on curing hangover?
Yup. Taking a nap that's 20 minutes long is said to be good for you, BUT, if you get too used to it, missing a nap makes it even harder.@_@;
Has anyone else took such a good nap that you thought it was the next day?
Is yawning contagious? If so why?
That's called a "déjà vu", and yeah, it happens to everybody just not as often as you (speaking for myself at least)
I wish this were true for me. I always try to have 20 min naps but feel so tired when I wake up and end up going back to sleep and waking up 2hrs later :(
We Chinese high school students have 1.5 hours nap time after lunch.
NOW HOLD ON JUST A DARN SECOND. Did anyone ELSE see the Snooze Button video and then see this and think to yourself, "ASAPScience is kinda going against itself by posting both these videos with conflicting ideas"???
now you got me yawning
Sometimes I sleep. Whole night and when I wake it feels like I haven't slept, why is that?
such a perfect day ad came on!
I never get tired of these videos. Perfect knowledge, thank you very much for sharing this with us. :)
How come kindergartens get naps and not middle schoolers and high schoolers who have to go to school early?
I dunno, everytime I try to nap I just can't fall asleep. I'm not usually tired enough during the day to take a nap- it just feels wrong.
I wish I could, though- might help me power through homework in the afternoons!
Also that stage 1 stuff explains those nights where I don't feel like I got any sleep yet logic dictates I must have slept at least a little bit...
remember thaT TIME WHEN YOU JUNP OUT OF BED ONLY TO FIND OUT YOUR LEGES ARE ASLEEP
Thanks for taking the blame!
I used to love naps, but lately theyre making it hard for me o sleep at night. Any suggestions?
+Petey Sweety don't nap ;p go to sleep earlier ;p
smoke a huge blunt of weed
***** weed is for chumps
omg I was just thinking the same thing
Weed is a medicine. People that think weed is for chumps havent seen the cancer patients and insomniacs veer off hardcore drugs onto something a little cleaner.
