I live about a 5 minute ride away from the trailhead at Peoria/7th Av. Ride this trail a lot, especially fall thru spring. It is a great ride. A nice thing about the trail is that in several places you can make it a more or less challenging ride depending on your line. The trail gets really busy on weekends because it is a great MTB trail in the center of Phoenix. You have to pay attention.
Thanks for this excellent sampler of the trails in the area. We're traveling there and plan to ride "Long way around" and / or "West Side Loop". Thoughts welcome!
Thank you for your reply!!..for a beginner do you recommend going there or starting at north mountain visitor center? Or is it basically the same? 😊 Thanks
If you take Peoria Ave east from I-17 to the end where it meets 7th Ave you just make a left at the police station. Or if going north on 7th Street, about 1/4 mile south of Thunderbird Road, on the west side of the street is a Visitor's Center. You can jump on there, too
@@themountainbikeshow7114 Dynamite and Alma School in North Scottsdale. Friday's would be best. The trails are great. I live near 7th Street & Greenway and it's about 1/2 hour drive. Well recommended. I usually ride a 21 loop that is mostly Hawknest Trail. The are lots of YT videos of it. Let me know if this Friday out next is best.
Great!! I’m so exited about it! Maybe the following Friday is better if possible for you because someone is visiting me from out of the state on Friday. How early we can meet in the morning?
Hey man, I’m moving to Phoenix soon and want to start riding trails around there. Price aside, would you recommend a hardtail or FS for a beginner in that area/terrain? Thanks!
Hi Connor! I would say get a hardtail because you get a better bike for the money. Going full suspension will work against you until you get decent parts on the bike which means you’re spending upwards of 2000 bucks. A Trek Marlin six or seven is a great way to start and when you eventually buy a full squish bike, you won’t get rid of a hardtail, believe me. When you get here, look on Offer Up or check the local shops for a used Marlin and save some $$$. The frames are nice and you can upgrade. I upgraded my 2019 Marlin 7 to the NX Eagle kit, 1x12 and love it.
@@JPDC624 I came into some new funds so I have a ~2,000 budget which keeps me right in the grey area of HT/FS. I’m basically torn between a used 19/20 stump jumper or a new Nukeproof Scout HT
All depends on your personal preference. I personally like a hard tail. It makes me feel more connected to the trails surfaces. I’ve had a FS and didn’t like it as much. I currently have an almost mint 2011 Trek X-Cal and love it! Ive just done routine maintenance over the years and never had an issue. Plus classic pearl white with black and blue graphics stands out in todays market. 😊✌🏻
Great ride, Great video 👍
The small down hillbstarting at 25:38 is just steep enough where you can get some speed going. I always back out of the jump.
You are fast by the way
Great to see dessert riding,. I am visiting from New England, unfortunately I didn't bring my bike.
Rent a bike and go to one of these trails😁 take an advantage of you been here.
@@themountainbikeshow7114 I am kind of old and slow moving, any ideas for trails around Phoenix that I wouldn't murder myself on.?
Try Trail 100, you can start at The Visitor Center, or start at Peoria and 7th Ave

@@themountainbikeshow7114 Check out WeekendMountainBiker. He is my son. We ride together.
Have you ever have a good group of people?
Yes sometimes we go in a group
Looks like a great ride! Just starting out in MTB and picked up my Trek Marlin 7 today woohoo!
Good for you 😁enjoy shredding those trails
Nice! I’m in Phx also and have a Marlin 7. 👍🏼
Awesome man mountain biking I think is the best to keep you going.
Just rode this yesterday, feel sore today hahaha!😂
Beautiful ride!
Kudos on your ride, and a hearty TYVM for loading and sharing videos.
We should go for a ride together. I ride these trails all the time. With the opening of dreamy draw I have been going there more to start.
Let’s do it on the weekend 😁

Where did you park for this trail? At 7th Ave and Peoria? Thank you 😊
Yes!!

Have you ridden at Brown's Ranch? I'd be willing to meet you there for a ride.
Never ridden there before, can you send me the location? And what days do you ride? Is the trail good enough?? Thanks 😊

Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Curious if ya ever venture out here to W Valley? I in Surprise and would love to tag along.
Thanks for watching. I have ridden the White Tank Mountain trails two years ago and it was good, and I will be glad to ride with you there.

I've wondered what was north of Peoria on 7th Ave. Thanks!
Yes it is!
Do you know where the start of the trail is or where we can park?
There are several start points depends on where you are! I usually park at the Visitor Center on 7th street just a little bit north of North Mountain.
Would you recommend starting at the 7th and Peoria or the visitor center on 7th street for a beginner rider? Or is it basically the same? Thank you 😊
A lesson in the filming of a flop of a video, at least a few flips in between the hard breathing noises could have been inserted.
Hey, where did you enter the trail, which parking lot is this? 7th St.?
Yes! The visitor center on 7th st.

Man I work at Tapatio and the trail you showing here it looks more excited. Is that the trail that goes near thunderbird? It looks nice
Yes!! It’s the one at Thunderbird
Do you think a gravel bike can handle that terrain?
I don’t think so! This trail has a lot of sections that’s very bumpy and rocky.
No, I think the wheels would taco on you.
Lmao, I used to live in that neighborhood by Peoria
