Being a Skoda owner (Skoda Fabia.. 2009..12 years+ ) and Hyundai owner (i20 ..2013 model..8 years+) I prefer Skoda kushaq any day every day.

Everyone will “prefer” kushaq stating its solid built quality, but when it comes to proper decision making of a buyer that is when we are about to book the car, the same guys will book and buy creta eyeing on service network and cheaper maintenance.
Cheaper parts gives cheaper maintenance. Skoda’s yealry maintenance 6-10k.

A general observation: whenever you do new car reviews/comparisons you go really easy on the manufacturer.. as if you were treading warily without upsetting the car company! WHY ?? We are here to know more about what you REALLY feel about the car. Of course you don't say any of the lame stuff that all the 'pramukha' reviewers say, but we hold you to higher standards. And if you notice, all the reviewers who call a spade a spade have grown and developed a genuine audience - car companies will follow don't worry :)... for e.g. when you talk about Hyundai dct - I would like to know if they genuinely know the tech and have solved for the usual problems in indian driving conditions!

I would choose Kushaq for its ride and handling, its compact so good for city use. 1 litre with Torque converter transmission would be good for daily purpose. Also loved the design and styling. Only thing I complain about the Kushaq is it does not offer Panoramic Sunroof.

Would buy Kushaq for the solid build. More action is building up in the segment with Honda lining up a Creta competitor for 2023. The decision appears strange after the HR-V fiasco. Would like to have a comparison of the fuel efficiency of Creta and Kushaq.

Every other channels say that Creta and Seltos is the same and there is no difference except for looks... So just buy comparing by looks!!!!!!!
Now you guys have pointed out the ride quality difference that I was expecting..Seltos suspension is so stiffer than creta which make it better for driver whereas creta offers a softer suspension than Seltos...

Need help : Would you recommend buying a Kushaq / Taigun with a DQ200 DSG transmission ? Mainly concerned on the maintenance side ! The VW sales team says the issues it had with the DSG were mainly on the old gen 1.2L based vehicles , and they have improved it a lot after that ! Is this true from your experience ? Would you recommend going for the new DSG transmission over the torque converter ?

A good, practical comparison. But I must say, could have discussed about bhp, nm, body roll(I assume it is more in creta), high speed stability, tyre profile, braking power etc. The review was packed with more practical aspects than engineering aspects. And I feel kushaq is a much better engineered car. Class leading 148 horses, 250 NM. Cylinder deactivation tech, it can do wonders in long highway rides. And the handling ofcourse. And more over, the Kushaqs the Taiguns they are bound to age beautifully. Understated, classy looking, timeless. Koreans are miles behind and they will be further behind when India matures, unless they up their game in terms of engineering their cars than making the them feature rich.

I had this concern with my hyundai.. power window button mathre but problem vannollu. That too because of lack of use.. backy electronic auto fold mirrors .. reverse camera and everything else is working fine in my 6 year old i20..

Typically Korean and Japanese designs are like instant hits , very few designs earn the classic & understated grade of scandenavian & european design legacy.. . Even now also many korean designs are a positive mix of heavy "inspirations" from various indigenous design patterns :)

Coz somewhere it was sounding and feeling lot more like a pro-German make cars channel.. and plus I own a creta 1.4 turbo DCT, and I was like this car is also very good man, don’t just ignore it like that!! Things have changed brother. I owned a VW Vento 1.2 TSI for 30000 KMs and now has a Tiguan allspace which has run 20000 KMs. No such issues till now. I feel comfortable with VW service in Kochi than others. The impression might change 😂😂

It's very complicated to answer what would you buy both are good cars. But I would go for creta 20L kodukumbol oru alpam luxury and next segment feel arru ayalum agrahich povile...use cheythilenkilum aa panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters and other gimmicks 😂
Which car would you buy? Polo or i20?
If your answer is i20, then go for Creta
And if you go for Polo, then your choice is undoubtedly Kushaq or it's VW sibling
I would have gone for polo if they had usable rear seats. Also there was no manual and only a dct at that time.
Every one wants the driving feel, but the question is how much you want to compromise? ( High maintenance, no milage, no rear seat). When you can afford to live with all this, Then you can consider VW group vehicles.
As a second car no one will buy i20 instead of polo.
My choice will be Kushaq , I test driven it and extremely satisfied about Kushaq.

I went to hyundai showroom last month to check creta, was not impressed by the interiors surprisingly , particularly the area under the touch screen. everything looked funky to me. its purely personal. I am a fan of the skoda's understated classic look :)

Liked Kushaq more than Creta and since more localisation done in its making, it may be more a reliable/cheaper skoda to maintain for a longer run. But the key thing, european feel and sturdiness somehow is less in it 😐

While doing this review, you didn't touch upon one of the important factors while buying a car - safety. Though both these cars are not crash tested, a safe prediction is possible. Creta being the Seltos twin can only expect a similar GNCAP rating of Seltos which is a poor 3 stars. Kushaq on the other hand, though built for India and despite the claimed 95% localisation can still end up with a minimum 4 star rating considering Skoda 's lineage and emphasis on safety. Hope Skoda doesn't give us a shocker and proves me right.
Another point is Creta has much higher ground clearance I guess.
Bottom line is buyers who would want more safety, driving dynamics, and overall a better engineered product it's the Kushaq. Creta gives your more space, big car feel, features and a diesel option but at the cost of safety. A tough call for a buyer indeed since no car is perfect...
