Me and my wife visited Portland last year and I fell in love with the place. Being from California, I would move here in a heartbeat. The snow would be a major Major…..adjustment but this place was beautiful.
I totally agree, Portland is an amazing city. As a real estate agent most people think we are only trying to sell people on a location, so I like to inform people about the cons as well as the pros. That being said, I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live than Southern Maine. Thanks for the comment!
@@Livetheseacoast Lastly, what are you “generally” getting for the price tags of homes out there? What do you get for $400,000+? Not a new build I’m assuming? Square footage?
Paul, it really depends on the location, but we made an entire video going over the cost of living in Portland, definitely check it out: ruclips.net/video/C8zWDsrgg5M/видео.html. If you are seriously considering a move don't hesitate to call me direct: 603-303-7361. Hope that helps!!
I lived in Portland in my Childhood years!!! LOVED Every Minute of it!!!! I live in New Jersey where I was born & raised!!! But Moving back to Portland because there are Jobs that I am going to accept!!! FINALLY Coming HOME!!! Portland is LIKE HOME to ME!!!!!
Yay! Congratulations that's amazing! We should schedule a call to discuss finding out a place! You can do it right here: calendly.com/avery-realtygroup/15min
Not to be a jerk, but for non-millennials I would like to see review. For the simple fact that everywhere it’s getting more expensive cost are going up. Either one adopts or whines about it and dies.
Seems fairly affordable compared to Northern New Jersey and what I grew up -11 was not the most crushing temperature ever. If you want to live really cheap either move to Mississippi or Alabama and see what life is like there.
@John Lozauskas you are not a jerk at all! I love living in Maine, it's extremely affordable compared to other New England states. As a local realtor everyone always assumes we are only trying to sell you on the location, so I always like to inform my clients why they may NOT want to live in a certain city or place in Maine.
That's exactly why I made this video! Everyone assumes that as a real estate agent we are only trying to sell you something...it's good to also here why Portland may not be a good fit.

@@Livetheseacoast Have you had a lot people from California move to Portland? Or more from other states?
Absolutely! Ever since 2020 there has been a huge influx of out of staters coming to Maine. I say welcome home to the way life should be!

Interesting sales pitch but go on.

I am sold. No way would I live in Portland Maine.
Glad the information was helpful to you! Are you thinking about moving to Maine at all?
I sort of thought it would be more affordable than Portland, Oregon. Darn. It looks nicer, but also ...I’ll take rain over -11 degrees. Yikes.
@@amygirl9534 it’s not -11 degrees all the time
