It's painful so see these days. I've heard it said that factoring in inflation, historically the early to mid 1990s had the lowest prices of gasoline in the U.S.
LOST A LOT OF GOOD EATING PLACES SINCE THEN!...LIKE CAPTAIN D AND TACO HUT!...I KNOW THE LONG JOHN SILVERS IN BROKEN ARROW IS GONE NOW...NOT SURE IF THEY HAVE ANY LEFT AROUND THE AREA OR NOT!
Hi there, is this footage available to use in a documentary? If so, will you please let me know in the comments how I can contact you to provide further info? Thx
@@WAL_DC-6B Hey there, I've emailed a couple times and haven't gotten a response. (The email address above minus the 749). Could you check your spam folder to see if my emails are in there? Thanks
Nope, this was recorded long before dash cams were widely available to the public. Instead, it was recorded using a Montgomery Ward, "Signature 2000," VHS video camera. The "police or highway patrol" were not involved in any way with this recording.
Grew up in Glenpool in the 80’s & 90’s….we would go to Sapulpa to eat or shop occasionally.
Ah the batch towers of Liberty Glass. My home town.
I gather those "batch towers" are used for sand storage.
I was 16 a sophomore at Sapulpa back then. It's like being in time machine loved it!!! Thank you 😭
So was I
I was only 4 but remember this year. I can remember things in detail from then but don't know what I did yesterday 😆
Thanks for sharing 👍
I hear you. I can recall things from a trip I went on back in 1962 when I was a kid but have to think twice on what I had for breakfast the other day.
I was 10 years old at the time. Hardee's was amazing, and Captain D's had the best fish in town.
Thanks for your comment! I especially like the fried clams and catfish at Captain D's.
I was 1 year old.....so crazy to see my hometown back then....awesome
Back when 1050 KGTO was Big Band... wow!
I suppose their Big Band audience slowly got smaller to the point where it's gone today.
A Drive back in time in Sapulpa. Thank you
Can't even find an am station anymore
Especially with music!
Oh those gas prices….

Nice to see the town I live in a year before I was born. 😂 That's awesome.
I live here

Unfortunately, a lot of Long John Silvers have disappeared across the country. Sorry to hear of the lose of the Captain D's!

Naboznys auto electric is still there. So much has changed .You can buy legal weed at alot of the places that are missing in this video now.
Heck, I was just in the "Sooner State", and it seems "you can buy legal weed" just about everywhere.
1:53 ah yes, the glass plant. Those tracks there are serviced by the local short line.
Yep, the Tulsa Sapulpa Union Railway.
