Don’t you just love how Netflix translates when people want to drop the polite ending? Here’s how you can suggest dropping the polite ending to native speakers!
1. You are the younger one:
말씀 놓으세요. “Please put down your words.”
말씀 편하게 하세요. “Please speak comfortably.”
👉 Culturally, younger ones will suggest the older one drop the politeness as courtesy so that the older one can talk to you comfortably.
2. You are the older one:
말 놔도 돼요? ”Is it okay if I put down the words?”
말 편하게 해도 돼요? “Is it okay to talk comfortably?”
👉 You can use this to suggest to someone at the same age! Another ending you can use to suggest is 말 놓을까요?, 말 편하게 할까요?
