- spoiler- it’s just like any other A series lock ;)
Here is the link to Nite0wl's video on this lock • (105) Schlage Wafer lo... where at the end he mentions I might do one. Well....here is one of them :)
I finally found a complete residential version of this Schlage wafer door lock, and had to re-key it an original Schlage key. I've been looking for a long time, since it was the first type I re-keyed from way back when I was a teen and still at home.
Have a great day, thanks for the video.
Thank you for taking apart and explaining how the older locks work you do a good job at it
Fantastic, instructive video! Saved my life after I deconstructed my Schlage lock!
Hi Jason.
Nice video.
Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Hope you Kim and family had a great Christmas.
It’s always amazes me how complicated these types of locks are.
I always feel like they are deliberately over complicated to stop the general public from Doing It Yourself lol.
I’d never get to see anything like these if it wasn’t for yourself Jason
Thank you very much for all of your videos
I know you probably think of them as boring but it’s very educational to us mere mortals lol.
Hope you & Kim had a fantastic Christmas and you both have an amazing new year.
Great video. Was able to take apart and key alike a Yale clone of this lock missing the key. Had to remove two wafers to get the other key to work but it isn't used in an external door so no real loss of security.
Yes please!!! A rekey video. These locks are very unique.
We've replaced heaps of these locks! So cool to see you taking it apart!
Very nice video Jason. I would love to see your rekeying video when you have time. Thanks for the shoutout.
Great video. That camera shot looks great.
The last one of those I met up with, found itself on the business end of my disk grinder !! Remember to Recycle....
Thank u, dis was really very helpful and I fixed it myself at hme... Thnx again
When I first started taking locksmith classes, our teacher gave a lecture on how to master key these locks. I didn't really understand the lecture but I just replace these with a Kwikset or a residential Schlage.
Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas. Thanks for good info. I would like to second the sentiment about seeing a rekey video. It would be neat to learn about.
very interesting video, Hope you all had a great Christmas 🎄
I feel like I'm watching a field stripping of a complicated firearm
I have one of those......looks just like that. And now it is back together.
D Sloop some assembly required?
@@selock Yep, and I put the springs in after instead of before cause they wanted to show their asses. Did you pin all those other locks? There are wicked looking cuts on the keys.
The large Klein screwdriver set has a bit in it that fits these hundred year old sewing machines like it was made for it. All my other screwdrivers the tips were too thick.
thanks again.
D Sloop the other locks were just random stuff, I can’t recall offhand but I know at least one way factory cut
Gracias por este vídeo.
some nice guy sent me one of these years ago :) it's still in bags lol
I remember those. Glad I don't have to deal with them. Really don't understand the gloves all of a sudden...Lol.
King Street Rob those damn stickers 🙄
@@selock Lol. I find it strange that we don't have the stickers here. We're such a pussy country we're afraid of everything.
@@selock Do you mean the adhesive backed stickers, or the "ouch shit it stuck my finger" stickers?
Thanks Jason!
What is the part number on the Channellock pliers shown in this video? Thanks
dave1208327 those are not channelock they are old automotive face cap pliers :)
@@selock Thank you so much. The blue handles threw me. I've collected and used Snap On tools for over 30 years but I prefer Channellock pliers to theirs and I had never seen that type. Thank you for posting the video. It was really well done and so helpful. My home was built in 1960 and I recently disassembled and polished the original brass A series Schlage doorknobs. I even have the two original keys with the numbers stamped on them. If it weren't for your video I would still be trying to get it apart!
I'm not sure if I've seen a wafer knob set here.🤔 I never remember how to reassemble stuff like that. Lol.😁🍺✌
That is effing awesome!
Awesome video 😃👍 It would be cool to see the rekeying!
The sad thing is that I completely watched this entire video and had time to comment all while waiting in the Taco Bell drive through 🙄
LockPicking Patrolman I waited 14 minutes inside at ours last night and was the only person in there (aside from drive thru) guess we deserve it for eating there ;)
@@selock Please don't eat that shit. It's not even meat. If you look it up that brown slop has silica in it.
Haha! I was in the drive through but only had 4 in front of me. But it’s a KFC/Taco bell and I think they were having to catch each chicken lol!
I'd like to see your video on how to rekey one of those.
i wood like to see a re key thank you Jason
thank..
You might as well replace the A51WD lock with the A53PD.
yes that is what would be best to do nowadays but 95% are gonna choose a f series replacement considering the cost difference! These are more a novelty nowadays but many still in use!
@@selock Yes, it can replaced with the F51 as well. I was saying that the A53PD was the direct replacement to the A51WD.
I "cut my (Locksmithing) eye teeth' on this lock.
lots of parts
