Little praise from all three of us, but more dislike cause of solid reasons. We're not only ones who noticed some bad casting choices & people included in those are are critics & 'normie' viewers This live act remake (or "live act" as 90% is CGI) is clocking in at about 45mins longer than the original with beautiful expressions.
Mickey Corporation's decision to increase it so much was a bad call for many reasons :( This "live act" remake has several missteps with one of them being the decision to make the once animated animals horridly photorealistic That way pushing the movie to an uncomfy uncanny valley where the dreepy eyes of Ariel’s aquatic friends attempt to drift the story along.
The new songs on this mostly weird "live act" remake are almost fine on their own except horrid Scuttlebutt They don’t totally ring on with the original tracks. Live-action element styms a song like “Under the Sea” - not only have the instruments been taken from the fish & other animals, a certain smiley touch is missing as well :( Take care 👍
This movie was actually incredible, I kept catching myself with a huge smile on my face throughout most of it. This cast is very special and great, Rob Marshall really hit a home run.

Just saw this movie... I didn't expect to cry, but it was phenomenally beautiful and Halle leaves me speechless. She's singing Part of your world next thing you know someone's cutting onions.

She is a grown woman, stop idealizing her/putting her on a pedestal. She is elegant and poised but also remember she is a human who I capable of mistakes. Her soft voice doesn’t mean she’s innocent and perfect.

Aside from shitty people you also have to be transparent and honest with your opinions, not to be mean or hurtful. But that's what makes you better. The only actors that did it for me was Urcula, and her undercover girl at the end. Ariel was OK but she lacked on acting, she was stiff and worried about acting that she didn't show fun. Singing was outstanding tho. Sebastián lacked energy, intensity especially in the song under the sea , it was dull. Triton was also Dull and I didn't feel the connection father and daughter. Scuddle was fun but disliked the rap song. Sebastián needed to be more animated and fun , big eyes and lips etc... Fun movie just a little long , the ending was rushed. As an actor myself this is my honest opinion.
We don’t know if it’s genuine or not. They have to pretend to love each other because of all the scrutiny. I don’t care for her (Hallie), she isn’t anything special to me.

My jaw dropped in the theater hearing how beautiful Halle’s voice was doing Part of Your World. And she filmed that at only 20 or 21?? Truly a remarkable performer and I can’t wait to see more of her work in years to come, singing or otherwise.

As a die hard fan of the original I was extremely skeptical but watching this interview makes me breathe a sigh of relief and cry a few happy tears! You can tell how much they all loved this story and that’s what matters more than anything.

Halle didn’t sing the lyrics to Ursula’s reprise like Jodi did and lyric changes throughout Kiss The Girl. Oh and Under the Sea adding Halle was nice touch but lost any other bg noises or characters from that song. Just nitpicky things really but overall think everyone did an amazing job. Melissa will be the biggest surprise tho cause I had no idea she could sing like that.

As so many other commentators have mentioned, the respect and unity of this cast/crew is palpable & infectious. As a member of the Baha’i Faith, personally I am deeply grateful for the diversity of this cast and also how director Rob Marshall recognizes the Spirit at work through the process & story.
Watching this 3 hours before going to the movie theater and I just know that I am going to be SOBBING my eyes out any time I hear Halle sing 😭

I was born in the early 60's, never grew up segregated even in my neighborhood, it saddened me that some people complained that Halle was chosen to play the main part because of the color of her skin, she is Beautiful and extremely talented, she embodies the role, Bridgerton is another example, it is about time we broke stereotypes and boundaries in the entertainment field, this in turn will finally move us forward as a society.

This seems like a very genuine cast! Very sweet! I saw the movie twice! The ending made me cry each time. I had just been in a fight with my own father. The day before seeing it. So Arial and King Tritons dynamic really got to me. I am happy to say my dad and I have since made up. This movie actually softened my heart a little bit.

This movie is one of the greatest Disney has ever produced since the pandemic. I cried immediately right after Halle started singing she is perfect I love her!!! Amazing Casting, twist, Animation everything!!! And it was like Melissa McCarthy was destined by the universe to be Ursula I love her! ❤❤❤
