I found your video doing research for a website I'm doing for a longarm quilter, and oh my lands - I have so much respect for your skill. Feathers is her favorite pattern, and I can see why. Gorgeous pattern, amazing skill. Thank you for sharing!
As a needy, I didn’t think of doing one side at a time. This will make it less threads. Thanks for that tip. ….. I know, some people need a kick start 😂😂😂
Thank you for such a helpful video! I have a smaller longarm and have had to turn the quilt when doing borders but seeing how you do this today without turning the quilt really helps. I am getting a 26" machine soon, can't wait! Your book is my constant companion when longarming. I have used the feather instructions to help guide me in so many quilts! (They are coming out great, BTW...)
Wonderful, thank you for talking through it as you quilted. Very informative. I've struggled with feathers but side borders make me crazy. Thanks again.
I really enjoy your tutorial style videos. It's very helpfult to see an experienced quilter in action and explaining how and why they do it they way you do. Thank you.
How perfectly timed is this video tutorial as I’m in the midst of quilting feathers in a border and was contemplating how to get all the way around the quilt! I will give this a try. I’ve already unstitched some of the feathers I was unhappy with so a little more unstitching won’t bother me if I get in a place where I get confused! Thanks so much, Natalia!!
Thank you Natalie great work, and clear concise with your explanation, no wonder we as Leah's viewers watch your work, I just see your video and subscribe right away
Love it and looking forward to trying this “one side at a time” method. I have an older Gammill with no stitch regulator so a lot of stopping and starting leaves little knots if I don’t keep it fluid.
I love watching the feather process. Thank you for sharing. However, most videos I watch fail to show how to navigate around the corners. This the part which causes me the frustration.
Very good, but what about the other side when the feathers are going in the opposite direction, do you start at the bottom and work your way up, and how do you get your feathers to connect and look good. I love your tutorials and I have learned a lot watching your channel. Thank you Natalia
Just to get an idea of how big your spine is. Can you tell me how many inches it is from the middle of one dip to the middle of the next to dip please?
So, do you do the whole right side as you go, and then across the bottom then up the left side while unrolling the quilt? If not, how do you handle the left side?
What kind of batting are you using that you are getting a trapunto effect? Really nice to see the back of the quilt looking like the backs of mine. Sure would love it if Santa brought me that bundle of fabric on that shelf!
I remember her saying once, a long time ago, that she sometimes adds a layer of wool batting to get the trapunto look. Her long arm work is spectacular and mesmerizing to watch..

Your feathers are so beautiful! Thank you for this tutorial!
You and your feather book get my feathers a lot of compliments. 😀😍
Wow. Beautiful work. Thank you
Thank you too!

Have fun!
Your feathers are awesome. I am still practicing! Hope to be doing some for real on my next quilt. Thanks for inspiring me!! ((and others too)) 🙂
Beautiful feathers
Thank you
Perfect video!!! Very helpful!
Stunning!!! Natalia, are you only taking one tie off stitch to secure the end of your thread?
