I am a Salvadorean living in London, England for 30 years and I love to watch videos of tourists visiting my country and my home town Santa Ana...The Capital of Heaven (la Capital del Cielo!!!) OMG!!! the Pupusas look so DELICIOUS!!! I feel like taking the first flight to El Salvador RIGHTNOW!!!
They're baaaack! 😉 El Salvador reminds me sooooo much of Nicaragua -- from the chicken buses to the volcanos to the crater lakes. Of course pupusas are strictly Salvadoran AND delicious! Cuidase amigos
That’s true! We recently spent about a month in Nicaragua as well and completely agree. Another beautiful country in Latin America! Pupusas are the best. Cheers amigo, hope you’ve been doing great!
Central America used to be one single country, El Salvador was the capital It's why all the countries have similar flags . El Salvador and Nicaragua probably have one of the most similar flags in the world
Been there is really the best looking city and department because of the many attractions it has, Maya ruins, volcanos, lake and central city looks. It's near San Salvador and Guatemala .
THAT MY CITY, CYIDAD MORENA Y HEROCA . Been out the city for 42 years, but I visited 4 years ago, after being gone for 38 years. GREETINGS FROM SEATTLE..
Unfortunately I had to watch with no sound (in bed, wife asleep still) and there’s no CC on this one. That said, there’s still great visuals. The city looks more “American” than I thought, the food did as well. It’s great that you met an other couple to explore a bit with, that would make things easier in a new country. Thanks for including CAD in your prices, I know small details like this take a bit of extra time. The price to enter the park seems a bit steep but well worth it. It’s amazing that you can say you’ve bought an ice pop from a vendor on top of a volcano! I guess it should be no surprise that there’s pyramids in El Salvador, I just didn’t know anything about the county, until now 😉. Great video, it was nice to see you guys, I haven’t spent much time on RUclips in the past few months. Take care👍🏻
Wow. This city is indeed charming. Seems to be a foodies paradise. Hello to Erik . Pupusaa eating looks interesting.. that view from the top of the volcano is indeed insane.. thanks for that tip for boarding the bus...young and restless drivers could be really nasty and reckless in driving. The ride back to Santa ana from the island seemed quite challenging for you. Thanks for the tip on the bus timings. That's really helpful
Hey guys, great job on your videos. They are very detailed, educational, and entertaining, instructional almost but doesn’t get lost in the details. Visually well done and well edited. I’m originally from El Salvador and I’ll be going with my wife and teenaged kids at the end of the year (hopefully with my in-laws and my parents too) and I’ll be showing them your videos. My wife and I haven’t been there in 20 yrs so were learning a lot from you guys. (I’m 51 yrs old but I came to the U.S. in the early 80s as a child) Thanks for your efforts into making these videos, and I’m glad you enjoyed El Salvador.
I have some recommendations for you I think you might like it The town of Apaneca is very nice cold weather and down the road there is a restaurant called Entre Nubes it is very relaxing there is very good coffee of the area there . You might also like Concepción De Ataco picturesque town like Apaneca with many murals and The city of ahuachapán exactly The park Concordia In that park there is a lot of atmosphere, next to it is the church, and a passage with the same name where there are cafeterias, restaurants and some hostels. A little outside the city there is a tourist center called Siloé there is a swimming pool and it is next to the Ahuachapán lagoon almost everything costs 1 dollar 👍🏻
In El Salvador it’s a lot more common to say Adios that is standard Spanish or salu, a the most local way to say goodbye. And is sad that both of you weren’t able to see the lake in his turquoise color.
Yo nací y crecí en esta bella ciudad. Santaneca asta las cachas. Vivo en Redding CA, pero soy Salvadoreña de corazón. Dios los bendiga mis queridos compatriotas. 😘👋
Nothing wrong with street food vendors , in fact they're preparing everything in front of you Staying away from street food is an old wives tale although I don't know if maybe other people have weak stomachs, maybe scientifically or biologically can't handle non factory packaged stuff like a person never exposed to disease has would have immune system issues? South Asia and South East Asia is definitely where you want to stay away from street food but you can see with your eyes why
@@patrickcoleman4318 In America you have the liberty and freedom to stay away from anything you like. Being that your a Karen you all have to always state something. Stay away and keep moving muffin top.
Mr coleman your intestinal flora will get use to it to street food. Just in case you need to run to the bathroom One day. Make sure keep a pepto bismol ready in your hands😅👍
You can at least cut the pupusa with a knife in slices like Pizza or else your plate looks like a mess. I use a fork, personal choice. Your videos are so perfect. Thank you.
The first hot dogs that You tried, Son panes mata niños!!!🤣🤣 Actually, are not a hot dogs, We called "Panes Mata niños" (many years ago people got sick from diphtheria, and everybody assumed that these kind of hot dogs could be contaminated, and if a child ate them they could die) thats why We call them Mata niños!!!

@@laurenandseth it'd be great if you filmed it and made a RUclips video of the town !
I was in Metapan several years ago but I only remember the area having a lot of volcanic rock.
Metapán it’s smaller that Santa Ana, but has some of the most unique things of all El Salvador, definitely of the top five cities in the country.

the "hot dog" you had looks more like a mata niño (kid killer) lol, no actual hotdog in it.... cool video and some yummy looking food
lol, nice! Appreciate you!
whats up with you guys, you guys are digital nomads and move from country to country?

I’ve been going to Santa Ana for 30 years with my Salvi spouse and have always been told never to eat street food or any fruit that is already cut up
I’m curious what is your nationality?
Street food is something that every tourist gets use to.
Im from the USA but as I said even my spouse and all his family stay away from street food vendors.

Don’t you will get sick!
Enjoy your hotdog 🤣🤣 es un pan de carne.
Sorry for the confusion in my country, if you go to San Salvador, ask for the El Chori hotdogs and you won't find better ones in your life.
