This is one of the best videos about Santa Ana that I have ever seen!!! Congratulations to these two Gringos travelling to El Salvador and showing us the best places for tourists to vist in my home city of Santa Ana where I spent my childhood 30 years ago. After travelling around the world myself and visited more than 50 countries worldwide and most of all after have been living in London, England for 30 years I realized how beautiful and fantastic my country El Salvador is, especially my my hometown Santa Ana...I remember going to CERRO TECANA y CERRO SANTA LUCIA when I was in primary school climbing to the top of these two cerros (Hills) so full of tall trees and vegetation...incredibly beautiful...Coatepeque Lake and Guija Lake in Metapan, the Volcano and Cerro Verde...I dream about going back there soon...
Thanks for the kind and thoughtful comment. I’m glad it brought back some good memories. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and nice El Salvador was. Hope you get to visit often and see it through travelers eyes
Así somos aca en El Salvador, sentimos una gran empatía para con nuestros turistas, sepan que en El Salvador, serán bienvenido. Gracias por su confianza.
Thank you for this video! This is where my mom is from. She has shared so many stories with me about growing up in Santa Ana. I’ve never been, but I may end up going now after watching this video! It looks so beautiful. I want to walk the streets where my mom grew up! 😢
You needed to visit Lake Coatepeque, the protected complex Cerro Verde and the Santa Ana volcano which are the most visited sites by tourists who come to El Salvador
This is my home town. The last time I went back home was in 1994. I was scared to go back home due to the violence and crime. I have a wife and children and I want them to visit my home country.
Would you recomment visiting Santa Ana for solo traveler? I am visiting El Salvador next month, going to San Salvador and La Libertad/El Tunco but i have 1.5 more days to spare before heading to Nicaragua. Thanks

Is lovely to hear. My husband and I are going there next week and have spent years travelling Guatemala, Colombia and Mexico, for some reason El Salvador has me a little worried about safety issues. But this eased my mind some. Excellent video thank you!!

There are only a few hostels in Santa Ana. I stayed at Castello Hostel which was basic but nice and central
Why do you call the bus, " the chicken bus"?
It’s what they call it. I believe it’s because they used to carry chickens on the buses to the villages

They say it is one of the safest places now in Central America. I was afraid to go for a while though
