- How to photograph and light a metallic object containing both flat and curved surfaces, with rounded and sharp edges.
The secret of success in lighting metal is to bounce the main light source using different reflective cards from different angles.

Great instructional video! What equipment is that at 2:42, and what does it do? Hope some one answers.
Thanks for your comment, Bat! It is a photo trigger used to determine the best time and size of the splash!
i was looking for a photoelectric effect experiment instead i found this.
exactly, same here
Voice over would be very handy to hear about your technique and process.
Bem bacana! Mostrar o making off, de produções assim traz à realidade o complexo trabalho do fotógrafo profissional.
Great video, montage to music and photos of course.
What music it is?
You are a real master of your craft !
amazing work, you should make more videos! would love to learn more from you :)
What music is this? It’s so groovy.
I want to get photography done of a stainless steel kitchen utensil. Do you also provide photography services?
Tks for the interest, but my studio is in Brazil, I am afraid I can't help you!
I know this is a very old video but could you tell me what the reflective card was that you used? Perhaps a link to where to buy a large sheet like you had? Thanks! Nice work too!
That's a "Silver card", used commonly by professional photographers in NY. You can find it at: setshop.com/showcard-glossy-silver-28-x-44/
The Stands are a very interesting idea. They don't use as much space as any other solution I*ve come across. Thanks for the inspiration Tony. Any tipps on building these?
Thanks for the comment! These "pot-stands" are really cheap and practical for this type of studio photography! Here you find some tips: tonygenerico.com.br/have-fun-shooting-stills/
@@tonygenerico This is fantastic Tony, thanks a lot for sharing! Sometimes setups get so complicated I feel like Indiana Jones in a cave full of traps, this will help a lot. Keep it up and greetings to Brazil from Germany - stay save, healthy and never forget to smile!
baita trabalho... e a trilha sonora então... fusion matando a pau!

What is the material of that light reflector?
where can i buy them?
It's silver cards you can buy them at setshop.com
Beautiful video.
Wow
Does anyone know what material the black backdrop used is? I am trying a similar set up, but I need to know what translucent material is being used to get such good light quality when using the pink gel overlay.
Bill, you can use any black backdrop. Just keep it far from the subject. Avoid extraneous light using gobos or black cards to protect it from any light contamination. This way you should get a total black background. For the pink effect I used a Rosco Cinegell. Anything else, just let me know, ok?
I may not be right, but I was thinking that he was shooting through the black backdrop, and that he added a pink gel in front of that light that was behind the black backdrop. But watching it again, he's lighting with a softbox in front. Later, the pink gel is another light just aimed at the black backdrop background, in addition to the softbox.
Love the step by step process of this video but (isn't there always a caveat) I'm not loving the mixed specular highlight values we're seeing in the chrome. My mind's eye and IMO the specular highlights should be the exact same value (probably at or just under the d-min). Ciao!
Sensacional!!
A perfeição está nos detalhes, como sempre. Algum dia, quem sabe, eu chego lá...
Perfeita produção, isto que é controle de luz....parabens mais uma vez Tony.
Can you show us, how to photograph a speaker and products like home theatre bass box having reflective panel.
The trick to photograph reflective objects is to avoid direct light. Just bounce your light source on a white reflector and it will do the job!
i totally agree with with u :D
당근마켓 판매시 써먹기 ㅇㄷ
Sir plz send me pot stands link for buy
Tks for your question, but I don't think you'll find a link to buy them! Here is a link of a talk that showed how to make them! Good luck!
